  1. Thanks. I clearly didn't see this list before posting. After seeing your post I went looking for it, and it wasn't where I would have expected to find it (in the help menu at the bottom of the navigation pane). I did eventually find it, though. I'm hopeful that the inclusion of the word "currently" means that these features will be implemented at some point. For the meantime, I'll continue as I have and switch back to the previous web client when needed. Thanks for the quick response.
  2. Is there a way to access saved searches in the new web client? It's easy to do so on Android and Windows, and in fact I have even set up a couple of shortcuts to some of my most frequently used saved searches. I use those shortcuts frequently on Android and Windows. In the new web client, though, I only see my existing shortcuts to individual notes. All shortcuts, whether to individual notes or saved searches, were available in the older web client. Is saved search functionality buried in the web client somewhere? Or is there any information about when it will be implemented? At least for me, it's key to my workflow and it would be very helpful to have access to my saved searches in the web client in the same way I can access them on other platforms. Thanks.
  3. Thanks. Only some of my saved searches show up as shortcuts on Android, and they're the ones I want to keep. I think I set them up on Windows originally. Regardless, the ones I want to remove aren't in the shortcuts menu. I don't have access to a PC right now either, but I'm hopeful that I can remove these orphan saved searches when I have access to a computer again. I was just hoping someone had a simple solution that I was overlooking.
  4. How can we remove saved searches in the Android app? I feel like I must be missing something obvious, but I can't find that anywhere. I had created a bunch of test searches when there were search issues with the app a few months back, but they don't do me any good now.
  5. That's the version I appear to have. There are still problems with search.
  6. I suspect it's the same issue, or at least related, but I have found that the widget I use to show saved search results is now showing me, "Couldn't load your list. It's probably just the Wi-Fi." It's not the Wi-Fi. I checked. Restart, clear cache, etc. have not fixed it. Playing around a bit, having the widget display a saved search that's relatively simple (e.g., just a single word) works fine. Asking it to show more advanced results (e.g., a saved search looking for particular tags, notebooks, etc.) does not. I see that I received an update to the app early today. I usually don't pay attention to the version numbers unless there's a problem, but according to my log file, I'm currently on Evernote version 8.9(1082873), Evernote revision 8.9_2473. I've submitted a ticket, so we'll see what comes back. I'm cautiously optimistic, given that folks have indicated Evernote responses saying that they're aware of search issues.
  7. I found a few months back that if I tried using one of my saved searches in the web interface, it didn't work properly. Digging into it a little bit, it seems that if I use the "any" operator with respect to tags, it brings back nothing. For example, my saved search has this basic format: notebook: Notebook1 any: tag:tagA tag:tagB. It works fine on Android and in Evernote for Windows. But not the web version. That brings up zero results. Trying a few more options, I found that the search tag:tagA worked fine in the web version, but any: tag:tagA (which should bring up the same results) didn't find any notes. Is anyone else seeing this? Evernote support said they confirmed the behavior and were working on it, which is something. But it's been at least a couple of months since they acknowledged it, and still no fix. I can't be the only one seeing this, but I haven't seen any other complaints, at least on the forum. Is it really just me?
  8. Thanks for clarifying. For what it's worth, that ship has sailed. Evernote has already announced that saving emails into Evernote is going to be a Plus/Premium feature. Originally I believe that was supposed to happen at the end of May or early June, but most recently I saw a message about it going into effect on July 6. See https://evernote.com/contact/support/kb/#!/article/94691268.
  9. So I saw the announcement a little while ago about Evernote's new service levels. A few questions come to mind, and maybe someone here can help out. I'm currently a free user, and I'm trying to see what's going to change for me. 1) I see that the ability to email notes into Evernote is listed as a Plus and Premium feature. So will that functionality be disappearing from the free version of Evernote? If so, when will that happen? UPDATE: Apparently yes, Plus and Premium only after May 2015. 2) I see that "Search in Office docs & attachments" is a Premium-only feature. Does this include searching within PDFs? It's worded vaguely, so I'm not clear if it's only searching within Office documents that will be Premium-only, or searching within all attachments.
  10. For any who are interested, I did finally follow up with Evernote support on this issue in the last couple of days, and the official position is that - as of the last Evernote update - Skitch is the PDF handler for files attached to Evernote notes. And indeed, I am able to use Skitch to open PDFs in notebooks shared with me by my wife, though Android still gives me the choice of all PDF-capable apps on my device when I try to view a PDF. Personal opinion aside, my experience is somewhat more nuanced. I'm able to open PDFs in my own notes with any PDF handler on my phone/tablet, while PDFs in notebooks shared by my wife require me to use Skitch. Maybe that's because Evernote hasn't finished the job of requiring Skitch for all PDFs, or maybe not, but I'm in no rush to be forced to use Skitch in all cases. That said, my personal opinion is that it only serves to alienate users if EN is going to require us to use a specific PDF handler, unless there's a clear benefit to doing so. Perhaps for editing there is a case to be made, but strictly in terms of needing a PDF viewer (and EN does ask whether you plan to view or edit the PDF), I don't see how Skitch is any better than other apps that I already have. No justification for the Skitch requirement was provided, though I've asked for more information, including whether this was announced in a changelog or elsewhere and I just missed it.
  11. I noticed this problem with shared notes and PDF files as well. See https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/75083-opening-pdf-attachments-in-joined-notebooks/ I never did submit a support ticket, but maybe it's time to do that and see if I get a response.
  12. I've been having this issue as well, but only on one of my three devices. I'm not sure why that one is special.
  13. In fairness to Evernote, I have received responses to trouble tickets, but I was holding off on sending one until I could see if others were having this same issue or if I'm just doing something wrong or misunderstanding the service offered to me.
  14. I noticed tonight that I am unable to use an Android device to open PDF attachments in a notebook shared with me by my wife. For what it's worth, we're both currently free users. I have no difficulty opening the same attachments in Evernote for Windows or Evernote Web. Is this by design (or a limitation of being a free user)? Or is it a bug? Just a fluke with my account or devices? I've noticed that JPGs attached to notes in the shared notebook can be viewed with no problem. I can also open a note in the shared notebook on my phone and choose to download PDF attachments, saving them on my phone, and then I can open the PDF. It's a workaround, but I suppose it works. Any insights appreciated. Thanks.
  15. Do you have the "Update to pre-release version when available" option checked in Tools / Options / General? Nope. I don't need the V5 badly update enough to want to bother with a beta while the kinks are worked out. I can wait for the official release. I just thought that we were at that stage given the Sept. 4 EN blog post, and specifically given the language about auto-update for existing users starting within a week.
  16. I saw the blog post that V5 is officially out now, but I'm still not getting the auto-update notification, and check for updates tells me 4.6 is the most recent version. Have V5 auto-updates been suspended? Thanks.
