I am in some sort of "Catch 22 type loop". I can't open Evernote on my PC. IF you use Evernote on a PC (app) and on the Web on the same PC, does that count as 2 devices? I didn't realize that. SO, i disconnected. I normally have 2 devices enabled. But, now i can't start Evernote app on my PC with a message that i can't disconnect more than 2 devices. I only disconnected one device (so-called "the web"). But i may have done the identical thing more than once, as it was confusing and the same dialog popped up several times so each time i selected "web" to disconnect from. Now i am locked out. This almost seems like some sort of ransomware to me. I can't access any of my notes, as all i get is a dialog that i can't disconnect. Is there any way around this catch-22. No way i'm going to sign up under a gun and pay you money to see my 1000+ notes i've created over the last few years. What do i do now to access my notes (besides pay)?

When i clip an article, all that ends up in Evernote is the URL reference, and a couple of bold titles/subtitles from the web page. None of the text. I select "article" for what to clip. This started happening approximately October 8th. Any clip i tried to do since then is as described above, i.e. just a shell of the actual article. My previous clip before October 8th that did clip correctly was Sept 28th. And as well all earlier than Sept 28th seem to be fine as far as i can determine. Has anybody else noticed this. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to get "web clipping" back. This is the most important Evernote feature for me. Thank you!

Have latest version. File|About actually works. The pulldown menus actually pull-down! Any click anywhere in the app does nothing (such as left panel with things like "notes", "notebooks" etc), and finally Windows pops up its standard dialog, "Window is not responding" with options Wait and Relaunch. I have done both repeatedly, but no coming out of it, just keeps doing the same thing. Killing the task and relaunch...same thing. I have rebooted windows. Does not fix it. No other app is giving me any trouble. The idea occurs to me to uninstall and reinstall. However i do not want to lose all my notes. If i uninstall and reinstall, will all my notes still be there? Or, do you have any other suggestions? Thank you.

I don't know if Windows upgraded or Evernote Upgraded, but never happened before. Now i launch Evernote, and it is frozen, does not respond to any click. Windows brings up a window, "Window is not responding - Relaunch or Wait". "Wait" does not help. Have selected relaunch a few times. Evernote does relaunch, the window comes up again. It still does not respond to any mouse click and that message from Windows OS about "not responding" comes up again. Is there anything more that i can do? Trapped/blocked on any further use of Evernote.

Thanks much for the discussion (from original question asker). What i learned is that apparently the "regular" search (if you just type into the search box) does not search the URL field. Too bad, i would have expected it to do so. Also apparently the "*" at the end is mandatory. Even though "theguardian.com" would match, within the string, anything from that URL base, it does not return results unless the "*" is at the end. Very cumbersome...but at least i know what to do to find what i want! Thanks much!

I often clip web articles from theguardian.com. I tried the Evernote search function, using "theguardian", "theguardian.com" and also i copied an entire URL that existed as the source for a note and searched for that. All fail. How would i find all the notes from the URL source "theguardian.com"? Thank you.
