  1. I just tried Evernote on an older iPad 10.5” and does the exact same thing. I have a ticket that’s been open from June with promises of escalation following by ignoring. I’m just trying to get a sense from the forum here if this total UI refresh occurs for other people or just my account. It never happens on my 12.9 M1 iPad Pro so I’m wondering if it’s a RAM issue. However, my old iPhone 11 doesn’t have this problem and the app is always where I left it so this is very confusing.
  2. Same thing happening to me. Sometimes restarting the app works and the data are back where they should be. I've had a crazy pac man event where complete gibberish started auto propagating until I force quit. Looked like this " ... \\\\\\\ ||||||| \\\\\\ ...." and a bunch of random characters like getting dust on an 8-bit NES cartridge.
  3. Not note specific. The entire user interface refreshes. Disappears and reloads. I sent support a video and they escalated and I’m waiting on a response. There must be something wrong with the installation on my iPad. However, I have reinstalled sign in/out multiple times without any improvement. Apparently, there is a local keychain on iPads, that does not get deleted when an application is removed. This enables the application to stay logged in even after you reinstall. I suspect something in there is corrupted, but from reading around on the internet, there’s no way to fix that without wiping your device.
  4. Regarding the disconnected note on wake from sleep. I can now reproduce that opening the note in its own window, then closing, then changing to a new note then back will reconnect the note. There appears to be a problem with open note status and reconnection for some notes. I showed this in a video to support and they informed me that my internet connection must be the problem (despite showing that reconnection occurs after closing the open note) 😕
  5. I may have found a solution. I usually have 10+ Evernote windows open. I found the disconnected notes will sometimes reconnect if I close the opened window. I closed all open windows individually and then restarted the application and so far notes are now reconnected after sleep.
  6. Thanks I’ve tried all the note reload operations without success. Only app relaunch seesaw to fix it.
  7. Still no resolution of failure to reconnect on wake from sleep with 10.58.5 macOS version for me. I'll submit a ticket. This disconnected sign will never update to connected unless I restart the app. Oddly, uni-directional sync can still occur with new text added to a disconnected note. So that new test will add to on an outdated copy of the note, but it will show up on server version. Add to this that many notes are fully connected at the same time and it's very confusing to know what is synced and what is not. The "All changes saved" appears to have no meaning in my experience. I still have remember to restart the app every time I use it now.
  8. Is this a beta? My install says "Evernote 10.57.10 is currently the newest version available." and the note status toggle is still active. I hope it's not gone as I'm still experiencing disconnected notes and have to restart Evernote every time I use it.
  9. Any time I’ve gotten the waiting sign the note won’t upload. Select all in the note and copying to a new note might work. The sync failures seem to be linked to individual notes in my experience.
  10. Thanks. I was hoping someone may have encountered this. I've hard reset the affected iPad a few times, signed out of Evernote and back in, uninstalled and reinstalled all to no avail. I think I'll wait to the next update in hopes that may resolve this. So far other than losing one sketch this hasn't resulted in data loss as long as I don't task switch quickly.
  11. I have an M2 iPad Pro with 8 GB of RAM and every time I switch to another app Evernote completely reloads the note and opens it to a random location in the middle of the note. This doesn’t happen on a different iPad Pro with 16 GB RAM (M1 version), but also isn’t happening on an iPhone 11 (I think 4 GB RAM). I’ve tried uninstalling/reinstalling Evernote on the affected iPad with no help. I’m not getting refreshes on other apps and have not really been able to get any other app to reload - even safari with tons of windows open. Any ideas? Maybe it’s an M2 issue?
  12. I think less likely firewall as its occurring on different networks on different machines in different locations. Basically when I go to Evernote after the computer as been sleeping for a while, most of the notes say “disconnected” in the status. Nothing I’ve tried will re-establish connected status other than quitting and restarting Evernote, which has a 100% success rate on reconnecting. So I imagine the connection times out after a period of sleep and doesn’t ever send a wake signal again. Oddly some notes seem to always stay connected so it’s a note by note disconnected state. I just have to remember to quit/restart every time I use Evernote on Mac now. On iOS it works great and much better than the prior versions that were generating conflicts all the time.
  13. Has anyone had their Evernote stay in the connected state after wake from sleep? On three macs so far I have rarely seen Evernote reconnect and essentially have to restart Evernote every time I use it to re-enable syncing.
  14. It appears to be a "shared editing framework" from a Google search. I have not seen it change status ever.
  15. A few additional things I've found. If you cycle through a bunch of notes, some can be in the "connected" state, while others can be "disconnected". So the connection appears to be on a note by note basis. A disconnected note will not show RTE and will not receive updates from another device. Oddly, changes made to a disconnected note still seem to propagate to the cloud in some cases. I have to conclude that at this point it is very difficult for me to tell which notes are in communication with the server or not. The sync state toggle only works in the main Evernote window and doesn't appear in a note open in its own window, further making it difficult to discern if the note is connected or not. My current work around is to use an iOS device and enter some text to see if the note in question responds and then assume it's connected. I have not had RTE problems on any iOS device so far; this appears to be limited to my macOS computers.
  16. Regarding Evernote getting stuck in a non-responsive state after wake from sleep, I found a way to detect the note status. In the troubleshooting dropdown you can select "toggle note status". In the non responsive state the note will report "connecting..." for a long time after wake, sometimes indefinitely. Restarting the app has fixed this each time and the "connecting..." changes to a green "connected". The toggle note status indicator is a nice way to tell if the app can communicate with the server vs. "all changes saved".
  17. I was just able to reproduce this again. Made changes on one machine last night; syncing fine between all iOS devices. Left Evernote running on macOS at a different location. This AM none of the files are synced despite starting "all changes saved". No amount of force reload, toggling wifi will trigger sync to the cloud. Live editing not working at all. App close/re-open results sync from cloud data. Now live editing works again. So it seems if a macOS device goes to sleep long enough it can enter a non-responsive state that is temporarily resolved with app restart.
  18. Thanks. Just wanted to add that at least one of my Mac machines always seems to require a full app close and reopen (force reload doesn’t work) in order to pull fresh data from the server. All are on the most recent version of Evernote.
  19. On all my devices - 3 macOS computers, iPad, iPhone, I'm getting long delays (over ten minutes) where the app does not communicate to the server displaying "Syncing temporarily paused. You can continue editing while Evernote reconnects." Even when that message is not displayed, the bottom right indicator is stuck on "saving". My notes are now rarely in sync when I move to a new device and I have to close and reopen the application multiple times until I can get the "saving" to change to "all changes saved". If I wait for even 10 minutes nothing seems to happen. I have to memorize what the note is supposed to look like to prevent working on a new device that has not synced or the prior device that has not yet uploaded to the server. Prior to real time editing I would generate 1-2 conflicts per day even when using only 1 device, but at least I could get all my devices into the same sync state eventually. Now I'm often unable to get most of my devices to upload changes to the server. Also, it seems like some notes get stuck while others are able to sync.
  20. I have the identical issue as above where a compound search works using the syntax shown, but Evernote adds parenthesis to the search string upon saving, which renders the search inactive. De novo search with the same parenthetical search generated upon saving also fails. My suspicion is that this was intentionally done to prevent Boolean searches when that became a top tier payment level? I’m still on the grandfathered premium level account.
  21. Thanks, I just wanted to see if anybody had to work around or if there was some issue with the way I was opening/saving the images. I.e. user error in my part. I don’t have any positive experiences with support to share, and interactions with them has never lead to a solution.
  22. Yes I’m aware. But support still does nothing correct? The last few times I contacted them they couldn’t even understand what platform I was using and their solutions are always delete and reinstall. If they respond.
