  1. and I have to regress my earlier statement about this being fixed. Another test with a URL having 'home' in the text string takes me to the EN Home dashboard page. if I edit the URL text and remove 'home' from the string, then the web page WILL launch.

So - back to the drawing board, EN software folks. 🤔

  2. EN Tech Support did reply and they're checking this. A snippet of their response:
Our development team is now aware of this issue and hopes to have it resolved soon. I don’t currently have a timeline for when this will be addressed, but please keep an eye out for any updates and feel free to follow up with me if you continue to see this issue after the next few updates.

We'll see how it goes - they turn new builds about every 2 weeks or so now, so perhaps a fix will be in this soon (I mean, it used to work, so they should be able to compare new code to previous code, so - we'll see).

  3. One quick follow up - EN Support did respond to my ticket submission (which stated originally and erroneously that I was on a beta build). Predictably and understandably they said they don't support Beta builds in that way - which I totally get. I've since updated the ticket with them (as well as this post) to correct the fact that I'm running public builds. I also said other users have tested this and have replicated the behavior. So - we'll see if they take a look at it and have any input. I'll report back anything they provide. We'll see..........

  4. (edited post and title to change from beta build to public build)

I searched and searched to see if this had been posted already and couldn't see that it had been, so....here goes:

I'm running 10.38.3 public build for Windows and I've noticed recently (can't recall exactly WHICH build it was) that if I paste in a URL to my note that has the word 'home' in the URL string, that now when I click that URL, I'm not taken to that web page - rather, I'm taken to the EN Home Screen. I mean, that's very nice and all, but not what I'm after.

Yes I've tried editing the string to replace perhaps, with non-http type language but since the underlying URL is still there w 'home' in it, nothing changes when I do that.

I know for a fact this is relatively new behavior, as I've used links in notes for years and YEARS, and this behavior is new. Mainly posting here to see if anyone else has seen this and to confirm I'm not losing my sanity. One or the other.

Thanks for reading and any response from the masses is welcomed.

  5. I can say this isn't resolved, at least not in my case, with the WIN client, version 10.1.4, build 1880.

I use the 'Find Within Note' and even if I type an obvious word, like 'the' or 'and' - the results windows states No Results. But - I can SEE those results as highlighted text if I scroll throughout the note. I need to be taken to the 'found' text, jsut like it used to work.

Find within note is a critical function.

  6. So - yes, once I simplify the formatting, the audio file within the note is 'selectable' and will play.

Probably something worth looking into - is there enough need for audio notes within the construct of some other HTML content, to warrant the code work needed to support that functionality - ? Likely just an edge case, is what I'd say.

But there you go - can close this one out.

  7. One other follow up - I see that these notes in question contain HTML content (as indicated by some type of bordering at the top of the note). These audio files are within the confines of that stated HTML content (I think I started the note by pasting in some web content, to start with). So - I suppose the point is that audio files, if contained inside HTML content of the entire note, aren't 'launchable', for lack of a better term.

I know I could do the 'Simplify Formatting' function, but.....that might mess up other aspects of the note. Guess I'll try that and see what happens.....

  8. alirght - yes, I was looking forward to the auto-crossing out process, which yes is useful. I get the idea with the intention - two different use cases, for checkbox vs checklist - so I"ll adjust accordingly and we'll see how it all works out.

I'll be curious, though, to see how the public responds to the idea of having those two separate behaviors - boxes vs lists - when the distinction between the two, you have to admit, is very thin. I know one has an X and other has the checkmark, as well as the border color differentiation, but still....the two items are really very similar in practical usage.

Interesting - we'll see how it goes.

  9. ok I'll describe the entire scenario, start to finish.

The specific note(s) is (were) created a couple of months ago. The audio file in the note was created from WITHIN the Evernote app (it was actually a doctor's appointment, and the audio was his directions to me, following a surgery). So - one note, in this case, with 2-3 separate audio files created via the EN app, not yet V10.

I was able to listen to the audio file with no problem, prior to V10. The file type is an .m4a extension. If I click/select the file name, the app thinks I'm simply selecting text, as if I were editing the note. No way to listen to the file. Same behavior on both iPad and iPhone clients. Not sure what else I can offer, but I'm happy to share in any way. Thanks.

  10. In pre 10.0 iOS clients, images (such as a Post-It Note) could be used as an auto-link to open a new note. NOW in the new client, the URL text for that auto-
image is shown just below the image (functions like the Mac client was, for a while as I recall, or may still). The end result gets you where you want to go, but the UI is not as elegant.

    Here's the use case:
(and you guys may have the guy from....Germany maybe, who created a YouTube vid showing how he uses multiple Post-It notes to act essentially as a dashboard, linking notes to each Post-It Note, with a nice clean UI where it all looks cool.

Now - ***** - no more. The Post-It note is there (yay) but sadly now also the internal URL that the image links to (boo). AND  - not only do we now see the ugly URL, the actual IMAGE - in my case, the Post-It notes, don't function at all. They have become static images. Double-boo.

Let's go UX folks - get on this.
  11. Noticed (among a few other bugs) that existing notes which have an audio note embedded in them, that I cannot access/cannot listen to that audio note in the 10.0 version of the iOS client, both iPhone and iPad. 'Selecting' the note does nothing. Nothing happens. The audio note is effectively rendered....dare I say it....mute. And moot.

Happy to test or do anything else - thanks.

I use my daily journal note as my home dashboard
It's rebuilt each morning from a template

The template includes info and links for frequently accessed information
This includes Evernote notes, files, web sites, ...

In addition to the links, I also insert screenshots

In the Activities Log, I include checkboxes for daily reminders
and copy my events from the calendars

The calendar section includes links to the calendars/reminders I reference.  I try to make sure my events are included in the first entry, my calendar app

The Tasks section displays my task notes exported to a spreadsheet

I also include a photo from my location.  724196832_ScreenShot2019-12-03at7_27_24AM.png.838c8215da8b676964d9f1b22ea449ab.png
The mountains in the background are the Olympic Mountains in Washington state across the strait

Is any of that information dynamic at all? Or must it be built from scratch, every morning, with a ton of copy/paste actions going on....? I would think it's static, but wow - it looks great regardless. (this is me, taking my little home page I use and kicking it to the curb in shame....hahah). Very nice.
