  1. Hi, and welcome to the forums. These are user-to-user, so we can only report what others have experienced. Are these notebooks that you shared with someone else? You should be able to "un-share" them, I think. If they're notebooks that someone else share with you, then you have to get them to do the un-share. This has been a problem for many years, frankly.

Can web clips saved to Evernote still be accessed if the website they came from goes down (permanently)? I can't tell if the web clips I save are pulling data from the original site to keep the clip updated, or if they are a one-time text capture.

I would like to save a lot of recipes from websites to be sure I can access them later, but I don't know if a web clip will still be accessible if the website disappears.

In my experience, recipe Websites can be a real mess to access. They want you to go through their endless descriptions and family reunion photos and ad links and videos before showing you the recipe text. But Evernote's Web clipper now allows you to clip in Multi-Select mode, which would let you just grab, say, the title and the recipe. It's really very flexible, but it takes a minute of mousing around sometimes to get it to select just the piece that you want. I would think that those bits of basically just text would be permanent in Evernote.

So I have the collapsible headers when I install 10.80.2, which is great and a nice feature, plus the little arrow feature. However, the backslash feature which worked just great in 10.79 is gone, and the calendar link from the sidebar (Windows Desktop)!

I had the same thing happen when I updated to 10.79. I had to quit Evernote (File > Quit) and restart, and the / menu came back.

And a whole host of other shortcuts as well. Chances are if you use keyboard shortcuts at all at least one will be broken. And don't go looking for the list of keyboard shortcuts because the keyboard shortcut  for the list of keyboard shortcuts is also broken.

First time in a long time that I've determined to skip an Evernote update with all my might. I actually might like collapsible sections, but they're way down on my needs list. Keyboard shortcuts, though, and keyboard accessible menus.

... I'm afraid it's 'Press "/" to insert an element' or me. If I can't disable this function, I'm afraid I'm going to have to quit Evernote. Surely you ran feedback sessions before foisting this on us?

The fact you can't disable it is (as many others have pointed out) infuriating!

Hi, and welcome to the forums. We're other users here, experiencing the same as you. To speak to Evernote about quality control, or other issues: feedback@evernote.com.

  6. feedback@evernote.com. Can't swear how much attention they pay, but that's the way to make contact. FWIW, you won't be the first one requesting this, and I agree with you, though I can pay the price for my purposes. If you were only paying $50 (let alone $35), you were on a grandfathered price plan that has gone away, which is why the increase is so drastic. Personally, I appreciate what you're doing (I can imagine doing something similar some day). I wonder if any of the other residents would be willing to chip in a few bucks to keep it going.

My thanks to Dave-in-Decatur for your insight. I went back and accessed the website using my former company e-mail address and my data is there. Not sure how the new company e-mail address go into the system , yet it did. And not to Ushavilash's comment on doing regular backups I will do this now. Thanks to all you provided their feedback I am out of the woods and back on the right path...woo-hoo!!

Great to know! Services that require login with an email address can be a mess if you have to use a company address and that changes. Glad it's straightened out.

It will be interesting to see if this sticks around.  From the blue box, you can tab to other areas of the Evernote Display which might be useful in scripting Evernote to do something.  Right now, things are too much in flux to waste any time with this (IMHO).

Brilliant catch! I couldn't figure out what it was for, and it looks like it will indeed be useful. Still doesn't eliminate the / menu when I don't want it.

MERGE NOTES - Previously I selected the notes in the order in which I wanted them to appear, then clicked on merge. Done! Now after selecting the notes and clicking merge, I am presented with a window to chose how to merge. I rarely need to change how I merge, but I have been unable to complete the merge with just one click. Additionally, none of my settings in the merge window are saved, and I must select the same settings each time I merge.

Same for me. I haven't found it too much of a problem, but I don't merge notes often, and I don't have a business to run. I think a configurable setting for merge defaults is a good idea, and then maybe 2 merge icons on that little ribbon menu that appears when motes are selected: Merge (default settings) and Merge (adjust settings)--since once in awhile you might want to do something different. Suggestions can go here: feedback@evernote.com.

    Never had that before:

Create a note, paste some text, nothing happens.

Text is in clipboard snd can be pasted everywhere, but not into V10.

    Creste new note,  same result.

Can Paste into quick note (elephant in menu bar).

Copy same text again, paste works.

    Strange. Anyone else?

The 10.80 release notes (https://evernote.com/release-notes) say an issue with pasting was fixed. Don't know if it was this one. But be prepared for an unannounced surprise if you install it: the top-row menu bar will be gone, replaced with a 3-line hamburger menu, as reported in the thread on collapsible sections.

I just mentioned the issue here to find out whether this was just my imagination. Also so it gets entered into the public record for posterity.  But I have so many issues with Evernote, starting with "Clicking on feedback in the Mac client results in the focus switching to Chrome browser, but nothing is opened" and continuing with all the Legacy features that aren't in v10, that the appearance of Google searches in the desktop app is by comparison a trivial blip in the growing tide of EN annoyances and not worth my effort to report. Because the Mac feedback button doesn't work I've been focussed on sending my feedback on missing Legacy features to feedback@evernote.com.

Yeah, I think that feedback button is supposed to open an email addressed to feedback@evernote.com in your default email app; if the app is not available for some reason it does nothing. Not a nice look.

I'm willing to discuss missing features in v. 10, if it seems worthwhile to you. I don't know how recently you've looked at it, but a lot has been added over the last year or two; and some are there but relocated. But not everything is there, and I know that for some users some features are especially desirable.
