  1. Quick question. Last one. Promise.:) Followed the steps. It keeps updating in the background. Might take a while. Is it save to use the webapp to edit, create notes while i sync the mac app or would you refrain from it? Thankyou and Greetings from Germany
  2. Thanks for the quick reply PinkElephant. Is this any different from reinstalling the app over the old one ? (effectively my notes are- so it seems- also restored there. It usually one takes afew minutes so it might actually not be restoring the complete local database)
  3. Hey, i'm using evernote for about 10 years and rely heavily on it for my work. I'm a creative director and store my booksmarks (mainly via the googlechrome extension), ideas, references, notes in there. I usually also map out all my projects in evernote almost using it like word. I used to really love it and now i'm rapidly loosing trust in the system. The main issue is the sync. I'm never quite sure anymore if an evernote note is synced/saved that i've edited. I lost a number of important documents and days of work through this error, as notes or changes weren't saved/synced after i closed a note and opened it later again. It happens all the time in recent months and as you can imagine it's really frustrating. I use the latest mac book pro and usually the latest evernote app as my preferred way of working. Iphone app only if to quickly check something ( never editing anymore out of fear edits there wont get synced) and only ocassionally the web app if really, really want to be certain the note will be saved (its just not fun editing notes in the web due to shortcuts and moving around in between notes). So i guess the main culprit is the app. And believe me i tried reinstalling a couple of times, restarting computers, wifi reconnect, had customer service look at it, etc. Usually that might fix the syncing issues for a bit until until it doesn't anymore (which you never know). This means i sometimes go with days/weeks not noticing its not syncing anymore and all my work on notes of the last days/weeks is in vain. Here is an example from today: I watch a tutorial, open an existing note and add notes + screenshots. Then i close the note and see that all my notes of the last two hours have not been saved or stored in the note. Out of fear this might happing I copy everything that i have written as a backup in apple notes nowadays. If i copy the saftycopy text from apple notes back in the existing evernote app and close it/reopen it its there (Also on the web, my key of checking if sync works). Not a great system. Please help me! It's driving me nuts. I rely on this working and i have to find another alternative to this wonderful trusted app if this keeps happing. Sorry longwinded email. I guess the main questions here are: A: Why is this happening? And is there any way to prevent this happen in the future apart from reinstalling the app and crossing fingers it might work for a while. B: Is there anything on my part that can prevent this from happening or causes this (To many notes ? (over 34,000 i think), leaving notes open for too long?) 😄 Is there any way i can tell that sync is off or notes haven't been saved. In the example before it still states all changes have been saved which reveals to be not true after reopening the note. D:Is there any change to restore content thats has been added to notes (like in the example before) but doesn't show up after reopening? Big thanks for your help Greetings from Germany Lars
  4. Hey Mike, try reinstalling the evernote app. There should be an Evernote Folder in your Application Support afterwards. Then try this again. Hope this help. If not contact Evernote Tech Support (https://help.evernote.com/hc/de/requests/new) Took me a while to unearth this link. They don't advertise on the site anymore. Best Wishes Lars
  5. Hi, thanks for your replies! For anyone encountering the same problem. Here is the solution supplied by evernote tech support: 1. Close Evernote process (Evernote > Quit Evernote ⌘ Q )2. Open Finder.2. From the menu bar select Go > Go To Folder...3. Paste ~/Library/Application Support/ and press return key.4. Locate the folder titled Evernote and rename it to Evernote.old.5. Launch Evernote and try signing in. This worked for my and i hope it helps someone else too. Best Lars
  6. Hi, recently there seems to be a bug when uploading pictures to notes in the desktop app. I just get a grey box (see attached) shortly after upload. When i click on it i can see the picture. This only happens after a few seconds. So it will show uploaded images first and then reverts to these grey boxes. Web App seems to works fine and i can see the images uploaded. I tried reinstalling the desktop app and restarting the computer? Anyone has had similar experiences or any helpful tips? Big Thanks in advance! Also sidenote: Is there no official Evernote Help anymore? Like none? What is happening?
