  1. Could you be more specific?I am also not a fan of the current search field placement. In fact (as you might have read in earlier posts), I am pretty strongly opinionated about it! However, I don't think moving it there is sufficient to make this seem like a beta. Rather, it seems like a design choice I don't agree with. It isn't especially clumsy there (no more than the Mac version) or anything like that.Besides the search field, are there elements about the release that you had in mind?Search field placement Glitch/bug in Outlook tagging (tags don't appear in OL) I prefer more color, not less There are other nagging items but I'm honestly too tired to think of them, lol. More tomorrow. Peace all.
  2. No offense to EN but at this point, V5 functions more like a Beta than an official release. I have to ask myself, "What the hell were they thinking?"
  3. Just curious.....not saying I will but I'd like to know if I have the option to do so since at this point, V4 is a more user friendly and streamlined fit for my workflow versus V5.
  4. I don't care for the location of the search control either (whined bitterly several times in the beta threads), but F6 puts you over there, with no mouse movement required.Hard to visualize that. On my 24", "over there" is virtually the entire right side of the monitor, where-as before it was just a little box in the Center. I've may lost a couple inches to the left, but I've gained more on the right. And since that's where I'm typing, mousing and clicking formatting controls anyway, I'm only mousing straight up 1 inch to click in the search. My take on it was this: the search control directly modifies the note list, and for those of us who use snippet or card view, it's wholly disconnected from the UI element that it's most closely tied to. Still doesn't make sense to me. I search to find a small range of notes that I can pick from. This arrangement doesn't work for me. Regardless, F6 puts you into the search control, as it did formerly. F6 is a great tip, thx - BUT - it's just another example of adding keyboard strokes or mouse clicks on to V5 when it wasn't necessary in V4. It was a simple mouse "up". Less = more. It's a step backwards for me.

And since that's where I'm typing, mousing and clicking formatting controls anyway, I'm only mousing straight up 1 inch to click in the search. Makes sense. I find my mouse residing more on the left and middle, hence, it was easier for me to use the v4 Search Bar.
  6. I went back to V4; The Search Bar being moved way over to the right side was reason enough...I have a 27" LCD and that's a lot of mouse/head/eye movement.
  7. Totally agree with this "I was hooked by thenew feature which automatically brings up related document as you type". It's really quite impressive. I, for one, prefer more visual aids; colors! Not a fan of the bland, (flat) design at all. I'm sure the new design helps with speed.
  8. I have found that closing Evernote and reopening it again sorts the sizing in the toolbar. Try Exiting via File -> Exit and opening EN again. I believe that there is a fixed minimum size limit though, so it wont be shrunk to nothing if you add too many things. Thanks that did fix the cutoff but I preferred the location of the Search Bar in v4. Why was it moved? It used to be in a very natural place......for me anyway, lol. V5 is noticeably speedier which is good.
  9. I REALLY don't like the location of the Search Bar. It also cuts off my Toolbar shortcuts. Very annoying and makes me have to click more. Less clicks = better please.
  10. Thanks that helps but I think it would make more sense to have a frequently used function like the Highlighter available from the immediate right click menu.
  11. I'd like to be able to select text to be highlighted, right click and left click "Highlight". Is this possible to add? Also, when adding a note via Outlook 2010, (32-Bit), I type in a tag and it doesn't appear....it's just blank with an "x" as if it was actually typed in. The tags do appear as they should within the Windows Desktop Client.
  12. Why was the "Search Bar" moved to the top right hand corner? I preferred it where it was located in V4. Thanks.
  13. It's still in Beta Time of chat: 9/4/2013 9:43:29 AM Length of chat: 00:01:23 Your name: rob Chatted with: Shane 9:43 AM Shane: Hello, rob . 14. #Testy # No need to get your panties all twisted, lol. It's a public forum discussion. Obviously there's A LOT of confusion on the beta or non-beta status of V5, that's all. #Testy #SensitiveMuch?
  15. Really odd way to showcase a major release. Is it beta or official? #sheesh
  16. If you're on iOS and jailbroken, use the "Readr" tweak. It adds Pocket-like functionality for EN. 2 clicks and your link only is added to your default notebook. People keep referring to one click but I believe it can never be less than 2 clicks even for Pocket.
  17. agreed. Needs a quick and easy visual way to differentiate by colors.
  18. The change to the toolbar has been lamented in the various V5 beta topics any number of times. Lots there worth reading for those who haven't dared to dip their toes into the pre-release, and might want to think twice about it... Of course, there are those reminders... and text highlighting... Would someone please tell me why I should try the V5 Beta? Reminders? Don't I already have that capability? Are there any earth shattering reasons why I should jump in now? If you want to try the V5 beta, I advise you to first read the V5 beta comments, and also look at the V5 video that just came out. If you have specific questions, then feel free to ask.The video is a joke. EN trying to be like Apple. Doesn't really delve into what sets v5 apart and hopefully above V4. Cleaner, flatter, I don't care. Again, are there any earth shattering reasons/features in V5 that are not in v4. Thank you.

  20. I found the best/easiest way for me to send links from my iOS device to EN. You HAVE to have a jailbroken iOS device for this to work. It's a tweak called "Readr". It adds "Read Later" to the curved arrow in your browser. Then simply click "Read Later" and voila! The link is sent to your default EN Notebook. I'm a happy camper now. It even confirms the link being sent to EN with the iOS 6 Notification Banner at the top of the screen. Keep in mind that it sends the link only. http://qusic.me/post/44142728946/readr http://www.hdcracker.com/readr-cydia-tweak-for-free/
  21. Any idea if this will work with Atomic Web Browser? I tried it and I get a window that's sized incorrectly.
  22. Personally, I don't find it all that big of a deal. You can always either use the delete key on the keyboard or customize the top tool bar & add the delete button. First, everyone is different; what may be important to me may not be a big deal to you.....and vice-verse.....................it's just common sense. Secondly, thank you, I had no idea about the ability to customize the toolbar. Perfect now, thanks again.
  23. Am I missing the simple, basic functionality of practically every toolbar on the face of the Windows Planet which is an "X" to delete a selected note? Like what is available in Outlook. Instead, I'm forced to right click on the note and then left click, "DELETE"? Less clicks = easier.
