Joplin notes are written in markdown. As you type, the markdown is formatted and rendered in another window. (They have an experimental wysiwyg editor, but it is not ready for prime time).
Notes can be stored locally. If that local folder is also mirrored in the cloud (eg Dropbox) you can share your notes (with yourself or others.).
Joplin supports a we clipper, but be careful. That plugin has had security issues.
When Joplin has the ability to edit 2 notes at the same time, I will consider switching to Joplin. I must have some notes that are only stored locally.
