  1. Yes it has been added, but like I said it has been added to the latest Beta (7.9.4.beta1). So not publicly released yet, probably within a few weeks. It should be there then. Unless you can't wait, then you'll need to sign up for the beta program...
  2. Well, this has been added (in the latest beta). Very useful feature and although late, very positive. Seems to work really well, albeit only for written text. Doesnt seem to work for pictures, pdfs, etc...
  3. Fairly simple, because they made a clear statement they would do so, whereas other requests are not commented on (Evernote policy)... Their words, not the community. I expect them to deliver on that promise.
  4. Hi Evernote. Over 2 years now. Care to shed some light on the (yet unfulfilled) promise you made or just ignore it as usual...?
  5. Nexus 6P, Android 6.0, version 7.5 beta 2 (1075020). I have no problems with audio. That seems to play just fine. It is just internal links to other notes. I.e. I think if I click on a 'space' within a link it will bring up the keyboard and ask me to edit. If I click on a 'letter' in the internal link it will redirect me to the linked note (i.e. the intended behaviour). For example, i might have a link with that says 'please refer to page 100'. The underlying hyperlink appears to get activated when I click on either of those letters, but not the spaces in between the words, if that makes sense. Then it will ask me to edit, bringing up the keyboard. Anyhow, this is my quick observation, I may be wrong about the cause. That said it does come up with the warning about "Saving note in .....", but this has been addressed by Xavier. I think that the main risk lies in the fact that the keyboard automatically pops up when it asks you to edit. tbh this is quite annoying behaviour since it happens 50% of the time when clicking on a link. Thanks. Edit: not entirely related, but if the beta editor is on and I go into a note, I cannot swipe the left menu to access the main menu (i.e. notebooks, tags, etc.). This wasn't a problem before... Anyone seeing this?
  6. Actually. I like how it is now. Click the button to opt-in for the "tap to edit" function and you get it. If you don't, you don't have to worry about it. Like me.
  7. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my questions / issues. Much appreciated.
  8. Btw. not entirely related related to maybe the latest build as much as it is related to Android in general, but I just got myself a new Nexus 6p with 5.7 screen and would love the tablet UI (since the screen is big enough and allows me to do more). Changing the DPI to below 200 / 250 doesn't seem to do the trick like it does with other apps.... any ideas?
  9. I'll need your help on this one. Here are the steps I tried: create a new note, paste a URL, tap on the link > the web page opens save this note, open again, tap on the link > the web page opens too Could you maybe describe your problem the same way so I understand it? I create the note on my computer (previously a PC, now a Mac, but the result is the same). These are internal links to other notes by the way, not URLs. So I hold shift while adding an internal link to piece of text. Then I upload the note. In android, I switch on the beta editor and go into that note. Then clicking on the green link will most of the time result in asking me to edit rather than taking me to the note. However, there are occasions where it does take me to the note. I.e. it really is hit and miss with this. That said, even when it does work, it brings me to the next note, but then automatically saves my previous note. I can tell that from the message that pops up at the bottom. That is not ideal, as I think it means that it will reupload the note (which didnt need editing in the first place, I do this on my Mac) after being saved and just takes up time and upload data. Also, if an accidental mistake is made, it is automatically saved and I wouldnt know about it.... Hard to describe, but this is the behaviour. As I have numerous links to other notes, it becomes a real issue. Btw although not happy about the changes, I do appreciate Evernote assistance and willingness to work on this. Hopefully a good solution can be found.
  10. Have to agree with Eric99 on this one... Although I know there are users who want this function, I for one do my editing on the pc. Not my mobile. Enabling the beta editor now doesn't allow me to click hyperlinks in Android and makes my notes very prone to accidental mistakes. This is just unacceptable really. The solution as I see it is to have a "tap to edit" view for those who want it, and for us who don't want it, an option to have it as it was (i.e. where you have to click on an edit button before you can start editing). Too much to ask...?
  11. Officially promised by Evernote a fair while ago (May 2014) that it was "coming soon to Android". Soooo....
  12. Pretty sure this is not specifically related to v7.0.6 but I often have long titles for my notes. When viewing "all notes", I can view the note titles completely. So does doing a search after pressing the search button. In other words, there is no truncation even when my note titles are very long. Much like MS word where you type, it automatically continues on the next line. However, doing a search (without pressing the search button) will provide incremental search results (with the searched items highlighted in green). It is here where my note titles get truncated. Any chance of looking into this?
  13. Generally very satisfied with EN and to unlock all features I am more than happy to stay premium. Especially since I need presentation mode. Which brings me to the my question about presentation mode. When I look at the video at: https://evernote.com/contact/support/kb/#!/article/38825186at the end (minute 1.14) there is mention of "coming to Android soon". I know EN doesn’t give out roadmaps, but this is according to EN's own video. This was May 2014 and almost a year on, can we expect this anytime soon? I think its fair to say that since it's classified as a point of differentation for EN between plus and premium, Android users too deserve to use this feature.
  14. Good to hear it is (partially) working, though I do wonder how you managed to do this. I have a tablet with v7 and clicking on the tags list after selecting a notebook just deselects the notebook and brings up the entire tags list..... Could you tell me what you did differently?
  15. Agreed. Was hoping it would arrive not too long after IOS, but so far nothing. Please add support for this fantastic feature. Thanks.
  16. I like the look of it, seems to be bringing some much needed previous functionality back. However this does not "yet" include the 'market' and 'explore evernote' buttons. Still can't find a way to disable these. Other than that, I would love to see support for presentation mode (and possibly chromecast) come up sometime next year. There may be some other other features I've requested over the years (and which I would still love to see), but nevertheless I am quite impressed with the android app development.
  17. There used to be an option to untick the "market" and "explore evernote" menu items... For some reason these items are back now and I cannot find the menu item to remove these. Any help?
  18. Yes, it can be clicked away easily by pressing the "x" in the right upper corner. Does nothing about preventing it from happening again though as this message will appear in a few days again... Bit of a cyclic thing me thinks. There's a few different ones as well, haven't counted them though. Tbh, does not really annoy me all that much, but just to show that the topic opener is not alone in this. I think it's more to do with the fact it's v.6 of the Evernote for android version than anything else. Prior to v.6, I never got these... Also, I do work with Android for Windows, and there it certainly doesn't appear there. Then again, just my .02.
  19. I do. Just now I got: "Leave yourself a voice memo. Record meetings and quick thoughts. Try now." I get probably one every day, sometimes more often. Different ones as well.
  20. Fair enough. The issue I have is more with the re-syncing process. In other words, if I log out on my phone, it is the same as for example uninstalling evernote. I don't actually lose synced data (that's safe on the cloud anyway), but my phone will need to download the notes again, which in my case takes about 30 minutes (10,000+ notes, 3 gigs). And it's the offline notebooks that take longest (about 5 hours), as I always want offline access to all of my notes and therefore have all my 50 odd notebooks offline. I was under the impression the topic opener had the same problem, but I may be wrong.
  21. Sorry, but does this address the losing of local data (i.e. offline notebooks?) in the latest version on the Android platform? Because I keep getting the "signing out will remove all your cached notes and offline notebooks from your device. do you want to sign out?" message. I had this problem for a while, in that switching is possible, but if you have more than 10,000 notes and multiple gigabytes (offline as well), it takes at least 6 hours to fully re-sync. This made switching between accounts on a regular (multiple times a day) impossible. Has this been addressed in any of the recent versions? If not, the topic opener may be interested in the solution I had. https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/47026-evernotemore-of-one-account/ This is not ideal, and may not even be possible for everyone, but just in case...
  22. If you long-press on a tag in the list, it will maintain it and produce a new list that has relevant tags to the first tag. Tap on a tag in the list; now you have two tags selected. Tap on "View Notes" to see the notes that have those tags. Tested on my phone and tablet. Version 5.9.2 beta. Correct -seems I spoke a bit soon, without properly testing it. Or maybe it wasn't in 5.9.1. Either way, glad the functionality is not removed. Have tested it and it does suffer from slowness on both my nexus 5 and 7 as it may take up to 5-7 seconds to load the second "batch" of associated tags. More delays occur when I further narrow it down (3, 4 or even 5 tags). Could be a result of me having approx. 400 tags and many of my 10,000+ notes having at least 5-10 tags each. Anyway, just glad the functionality is there I suppose.
  23. Well, scrap that. Managed to get it working on my nexus 5 as well now... exciting stuff. Requires a bit of "tweaking" shall we say, but if you know what you're doing, you can switch between multiple Evernote accounts without logging out on potentially a lot of android mobile as well (provided it's Android 4.2 or higher I believe). Search for a youtube vid of "enable multiple accounts nexus 5" and follow instructions. No guarantees and FYI, i'm not responsible for any broken phones. Do at your own risk :-)
  24. Just for those who are interested, I got it working on my android tablet (just not my android phone)... https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/47026-evernotemore-of-one-account/
  25. This topic is a bit old, and not sure if anyone found a solution, which may have or may not yet have been posted, but it can be done in Android, but only the tablet for Android 4.2 and higher. You can create, for example on the nexus 7, multiple Android user-accounts. You can therefore create an extra account, download a copy of the evernote app (you'll need a seperate gmail address as well, unless you go the "unofficial route" - google is your friend here) in the other account and login. You'll never have to logout (and subsequently lose your notes), all you do is click on the power button and it will ask which account you want to use. So I'm always logged in. This is potentially limited to as many user accounts android 4.2 and higher will let you have. Quite handy I think as I've been considering multiple accounts due to the lack of sub-notebooks in Android (and slowness issues from time to time). I've been looking to get this on my nexus 5 as well, but no luck so far, as Android doesn't allow for switching on the phones. There are ways to include this function by some technical amendments to the Android software, but haven't gone down that road (yet....)
