  1. There are plenty of examples where software companies provide a large range of options with their software subscriptions. It's a matter of knowing your market base. If, as I have read there is a very large percentage of free users, why not get them on board with a basic notetaking model at a basic annual fee. If Evernote value their product they will work out the lines of user's interest levels.

  2. I can understand the sentiment from members suggesting that the complainers move on to something else. I don't  believe it is that simple. There are no comparative apps (at least from what I can see) to Evernote. With a bit of luck (and I wish the new owners years of service with their new baby), a basic module will still be provided for those that cannot justify the expense.

  3. The Windows Desktop app is opening as a larger than maximized screen(!) on my PC, with no room for any of Windows' taskbar or "- or x" symbols. Multitasking only works by using the 'alt + tab' key combo.
I am running the latest Evernote version. 10.50.10
Changing the Windows properties of Evernote between 'normal, minimized or maximum' screen size makes no difference.
Is it worth mentioning that when I hit the 'end ' keystroke, a programming interface appears in Evernote.  I used to use this key to get to the end of a text line, but this now depends on how the keyboard function keys access is configured. Hopefully, I did not inadvertently alter some Evernote internal configs.
A complete uninstall and reinstall did nothing to alter my issue.

    Thanks for reading, Chris.
  4. Hi.  I have a feeling that it is part of being in a beta program no longer required. It is a large folder, and if it proves useless, I need the drive space.

I did a search, and another user had the same query and 'Pink Elephant' suggested this link. I am now working through it

  5. Firstly, thank you so much for replying so rapidly. Secondly, is that a workaround if the selection button isn't working?

and thirdly🙄, I was hoping that the new installation might've given me the choice to install on D drive but it installed and opened up where I left off, without the option. So maybe there is more to uninstalling it than from the Settings>App> uninstall. (I am running out of space on the small SS hard drive).

Again, thanks for your assistance agsteele. I don't expect you to feel obliged to respond to the other question.

  6. When you want to share/clip an article from a device to Evernote, the notebooks option cannot be changed.  The article will be saved,  but unless you attend to it as soon as it is saved (some articles take a little time to be clipped) it means that you have to remember to go to the selected notebook to move it to where you want it to be.

This has been an ongoing issue.

  7. Thank you for the warning Athena13. I am sorry to hear of your misfortune.  The following quote from you sums up what a number of people feel from time to time with technology communication generally.

if a company wanted to, it could devise  a workaround, even if manual (though ideally built into the offer), in a way that is the least disruptive or frustrating to customers.

I see that I am on a legacy plan (whatever that means) and that you are talking about a 'rack rate'.
