Thanks to those who suggested that I download and reinstall the full release. I did that and the problem seems to have cleared.

The computer has shut down and restarted a number of times since this behavior started. I'll try your second suggestion and see what happens. Thank you. Carmine

For the past several day when I start Evernote I get a dialog box that says there is a new version of Evernote. It claims it will download and restart Evernote when it is done updating. A thermometer bar runs for a bit and the box goes away. Nothing else happens. Likewise if I click 'OK' on the dialog box, it closes but nothing else happens. I have the same problem in EN for Windows. It has become a huge nuisance trying to save various project files and then having to download them to open them. Is Evernote even listening to us?

I use the same method but it is clunky and raises the probability of out of sync versions. I’m also wondering why Evernote staff have not appeared with some help/explanation.

Recently I received a 1/2 price offer for MS 365 and decided to try it out. There are reasons other than Evernote but OneNote was a significant part of that decision. I'm finding that transferring data is not at all straight forward and interestingly, the ability to include files in OneNote Pages/Notebooks is limited. Of course I've only been at this for a couple days but neither of the programs is making my life any better.

My thoughts are much the same. Evernote has become more difficult to use, not easier. I'm actively looking at other services. So far OneNote seems to fit my needs more than others. I've never heard of DevonThink. I'll have to look it up. FWIW I am retired and though I have a need for office applications, it is much reduced. I was afraid that would be the case. Can I go back to Legacy? If so, how? This is inconvenient enough that I'm considering going back to OneNote. I hope Evernote is reading this stuff. Carmine Prestia

I came here searching for how to do exactly this. The inability to drag and drop FROM Evernote has become a major PITA and cost me about 1/2 hour on a project as well as the confusion as to where the files are. Is there a way around this??? Carmine Prestia

Charles This did not work. I did see a 'Simpliy Article' selection and chose that but I do not see any selection or 'Simplify and make editable.' I also have the 'Gmail' clip selection which I'm NOT using as I don't like it as well. Thanks. Carmine

Thanks for confirming it is a problem and not something I did incorrectly. The Web Clipper has been very useful but it this continues it becomes near useless since the attachments are the substance of what a user wants to save and reference. Carmine

I have exactly the same problem. Email received today and I used web clipper to save the e-mail and its two attachments to one of my notebooks. When I open Evernote the email is there and the attachments are shown at the bottom of the email. However, I cannot edit the email or open the attachments. Particularly, not being able to open the attachments makes the process useless for my project. Am I missing something? Is there a way to save the email and edit it in Evernote and to open the attachments? Thank you. Carmine
