Safari uses WebKit, Apples own engine for browsers. You would expect stuff to work there, since it is supported on the OS level. EN web client in a Safari browser window makes use of it.

The EN client AFAIK does not use WebKit, they use another framework that runs on Android as well. It does not share the same functions with iOS.

On the iPad using the web client can be a real alternative to the EN app.

    I am using Ipad Pro M1 11’ ipadOS 14

I can view a note within the web client but every time I try to edit a note, it crashes Safari. The web client cannot be a real alternative to the EN app for me.

Any other have experienced this issue?

  2. Hi there,

I am a big fan of Evernote since 2008. Premium member since almost 2008. V10 had a rock start, is getting better with time...

I use a lot LiquidText for work.

When I copy an Excerpt from LiquidText to Evernote, it will paste 3 times in Evernote as well as a never ending circle. I had no problem before v10. Apple Notes has a correct behaviour and will not paste 3 times. See screen captures.

    Thanks!

Since I have no issues (and iOS devices are usually pretty clean regarding bad software), I just want to remind anybody of how to do a good update. This is even more important when having trouble before.

    • Uninstall the app (any app). If asked, don’t keep any data.
    • Switch the I-device OFF. Really shut it down, not only the lock screen. This will clean out the RAM.
    • Reinstall the app
    • When on a good internet connection and having enough time: Open the app, log into your account and let it sync. To avoid interruptions in the initial sync, you can switch the autoscreen-lock to OFF in the iOS settings before. The first sync is important because it will build the apps metadata. It is later used for searches and sync control.

Usually I update by the AppStore. Just when having trouble, I follow this extended update routine.

I have few issues too but still using only online notebooks. Do you use offline notebooks ?

  4. My experience with v10 ios14 iPhone 12 pro is that a lot of bugs appear when trying to download offline notebooks. With offline notebooks on, I started to experience many app crashes, search freezes, impossibility to access a note, clicking on a note to open it appears blank. I had no such issues when using online notebooks only.

Thanks for that.  But drag and drop from where? Are you talking about using the "File Explorer" thing on the iPad, perhaps with Evernote in a split screen?  I never use split screen or the File Explorer thing on the iPad, so I've never done that.  I do any major manipulation of notes, or editing, on my computer, then sync.

With v10, and no drag-and-drop, where do you point the program to when you tap the "Attachment" button?  PDFs don't "exist" as a separate entity on iOS do they? Or do you have to go into, eg Dropbox, or Documents app, for example, to find them first?  I've never thought about trying to do stuff like that - I always do it on the computer.

Learn something new every day :)

You can effectively save PDF files in the Files app. Before v10, I was able to use the split screen or slide over mode to drag n drop form the Files app to append a note in Evernote. I used to also drag n drop from other apps, for example, Scanner Pro, PDF Expert, etc.. Can’t wait for that feature to come back...
