  1. One of the musts of adopting another app going from Evernote, having a lot of notes (15 years), is the ability do import (including tags) notes (in my case I have only one Notebook, I make all filtering with tags and saved searches). These are some I am considering that have that ability: Notion Obsidian Joplin Amplenotes Has anyone tried it, would like to share the experience and give some tips? Does anyone know how other apps like Capacities can import form EN? From what I see it is still in development https://capacities.io/feedback/p/bulk-import-from-md-and-other-apps BR JPaz
  2. Interesting, maybe I will reach the same conclusion. But still trying out alternatives..
  3. Options as a Legacy Evernote Free user. What to do? (if possible) Keep using Legacy version and back up notes manually Move to New version and adapt it to my use Find and move to another app if successfully replaces Evernote (or even has added value) Use Evernote and other app I have been exploring alternative apps. First conclusion: Boy, so many things my good old Evenote is not able to do... BR
  4. In my shortlist for testing: Notion, Capacities, AnyType, Mem.Ai. Looking only for free(mium) versions. Discarded Obsidian and Joplin because they demand Mark Down editing (Joplin has also a WYSIWYG editor but limited). Like you I have been learning new ways to use the apps e will have to rechoose functions I may use in one only or several apps. Oh, and I had already come across Toolfinder site and that post. 5. Thks @Dave-in-Decatur, right about common interface on multiple platforms. My experience is only Windows + Android. One thing that gets on my nerves is the less viewable space. And some things/automatisms I could do (only or better) in the Legacy app . But these are my habits, and everybody has them but they may differ. Nevertheless, that undoubtedly lowers my evaluation of the app.
  6. Here is my latest review comparing both versions, Free Account Features not present in New Version or better managed in Legacy Version (Free Account) New or better features in New Version (Free Account) less fonts less font colours less settings control no top toolbar 4 shortcuts faster then new version notes in local computer, not only online (works offline if logged in before and syncs after); in New Version there is option to keep local copy of Evernote database more visible space (snippet view 6 vs 4 notes; side list 24 vs 15 notes) more highlight colours strikethrough completed checklist itens (although no option to go to bottom of list) recent notes list editable keyboard shortcuts embed youtube videos collapsible left column
  7. In the same boat, I am in the "1%" tier still using Legacy. And yes, I have tried the new version. Boy, no way, at least for me! Still a fan of Evernote, but not as much with these last enforcements. Will keep looking for improvements of the new version.
  8. @Dave-in-Decatur Yes that would mean using only on one device. And it is risky because you would have to make your own backups. But no note creation limit, until now. Got the idea from Pink Elephat guy, but not as a proposal or suggestion. He just mentioned it, as a limitation I think. Update: Evernote Legacy asked to login again and now it is syncing again. Very strange! But I do not hope it lasts... BR JPaz
  9. Yes Legacy version is not syncing anymore. Finally gettting back to the new version (that I tried out and gone back to Legacy). To be constructive I will leave a comparison of things better in the Legacy version hoping they will be added to the New version. Another option, still considering: use Legacy version without sync, backing up notes manually? Hmm... tempting... Keeping to Evernote (tried alternatives, but none made me change so far), and keeping free version (for the moment). BR JPaz
  10. I do understand the company woes and needs due to (apparent) evolution of Evernote. But the company also has to understand users. Well, if the company wants them to keep being users, of course... A reddit thread about this issue: The last time I checked PROS and CONS of both versions, I kept to the legacy version. Just in case, I will check again. See this, but a bit dispersed
  11. Got the same on the legacy version on pc (still usign 6,25) like Ralph77. After 12 years if they enforce the new one it is time to say goodbye to Evernote. With much regret...
  12. Onenote does not embed vídeos or live webpages (although it is working on it), also. It would be nice that Evernote got ahead on this issue.
