I think I may have missed a box the first time. There was only one box not checked the second time. Checked it and Evernote Legacy seems to be working now after login. It’s downloading data as I write this. Thanks for your assistance and patience.

I got further, this time, but still no joy. On Evernote Legacy start, it asks for a login. After entering email address, password and OTP, the app crashes. When starting up again, it goes through the same routine, asking for login and crashing. I tried this several times, and always the same result. It gives the app quit unexpectedly message and then no matter which button I press, the next time it starts it does the same thing. I wonder if I have corrupted Evernote data on my system. Do you know where the data is stored with the Legacy app? I want to delete it and see what happens. Thanks.

Evernote Legacy quits on start. It was just installed for the first time yesterday. It has never run. Rebooting the system and uninstalling/reinstalling does not help. The error message is the usual app quit unexpectedly message: Evernote Legacy quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple. <Ignore> <Report...> <Reopen> It does not matter which button I click. The result is the same. When running it the next time, I get the usual do you want to reopen windows again message: The last time you opened Evernote Legacy, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to try to reopen its windows again? If you choose not to reopen windows, you may have to open and position the windows yourself. <Don't Reopen> <Reopen> It does not matter which button I press, the result is the same. The app starts and immediately quits. There are no other error messages or actions. This will repeat indefinitely. Nothing else works for this version of the app. I have version 10 running on the system. It is exceptionally slow, however, and I get the SPOD on most operations. I really need to downgrade back to version 7.14 to get any work done. This is on a MacBook Pro Retina, Mid 2012 running Catalina v10.15.7. How can I get Legacy to run? Thanks for any assistance!

I use apps other than Evernote on my Android, iOS, Windows and Mac devices to create and manage Markdown documents. This means that almost no documents that I create are created, stored or managed by Evernote. And the number and variety of my Markdown documents is increasing rapidly. Having to use multiple platforms to do one thing is frighteningly inefficient. Evernote is available on all of my platforms and it needs to fully support Markdown. In other words: For me, Creating, previewing, exporting and managing Markdown documents needs to be an Evernote capability. --Dwight Brooks
