Starting yesterday, many, but not all, notes I create with Evernote's Android app are created with a sharable link. This is happening on several different android devices. I don't want to create notes that automatically have "Anyone with the link can view." I am using the most recent version of Evernote available on the Google Play store. Does anyone know how to stop Evernote from automatically creating a sharable link? Thanks.

October 2022 upgrade sucks!
Coffee First Thing replied to Luispabreu's topic in Evernote General Discussions
When the new Evernote first came out I tried it. I hated both the new Windows and Android versions for all the same reasons many others did, including the lack of features that the legacy version has. Four weeks ago I decided to try the new Evernote for Windows and Android again, and I'm sorry, but I've gone back to the legacy version of both. The new Evernote for Android is painfully slow -- it often takes twenty seconds for a notebook to open, followed by another four or five seconds for a note to open. Even for notebooks that are available offline. The new Evernote for Android doesn't always sync and sometimes notes don't save. The new Evernote for Windows is still much slower than the legacy version. I've gone back to the legacy Windows and Android Evernotes. -
Tip: If you get a new Android phone and want to continue using Evernote 8, be sure to turn off auto update right away. Auto update for apps is on by default. I got a new phone today, happily transferred my apps and settings to my new phone, and about an hour later Evernote automatically updated to version 10.

For me, Evernote has always been my most important app. It's where my ideas go. My important notes. Book outlines. Photos of restaurants I want to remember. Information I need to give my accountant. My kids' medical records. I depended on Evernote. Now I can't. I hope Evernote returns to its former self.

I sideloaded the old Evernote for Android back onto my phone from here: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/evernote-corporation/evernote/evernote-8-13-3-release/ -
Evernote for Android version 10.4 Release notes
Coffee First Thing replied to Shane D.'s topic in Release Notes (Android)
I use create notes from the notification panel at least ten times a day. -
In the past day, I've noticed several problems with Evernote 10 for Android. Some are bugs (it seems); some user issues. Sharing from one Android app to Evernote often fails. When sharing is successful, you have to click save. In the previous Android version, the shared item (a newspaper article or webpage, for example) would automatically save. Now there's an extra step to save. (This seems to be to let you choose the notebook, but it's an exta step.) The blue edit button blocks a line of a note's text. In my list of offline notebooks, my default notebook is list six times. (This happens on all three of my phones that are running Evernote 10.)

A suggestion in another thread in this forum solved most of the major problems. I'll repeat that tech tip here so that anyone who's looking can find it. (Evernote 10 for Android still doesn't have the ability to create a note from the notification bar.) --- Solution to not saving notes and default notebook issues: Peter, with Evernote support I've find a workaround: - from web version change temporary default notebook to another - close and reopen evernote Android, now you can save with success - from web version change default notebook to preferred - evernote Android still work normally to original default notebook If you delete data of app, you have to repeat steps above. The little problem is that you see default notebook more than one under notebooks, is only grafical issue, app works normally. I hope that will be fix soon, I'm waiting answer from support. Ciao
