Yeah, I'm using the latest v7. You are correct, they didn't update it for quite some time. I think a couple small releases came out over the past year. I tried to switch to the Home version, but didn't care for it. I forget why exactly as it was a while ago. Manager works well enough though.

I'm using ScanSnap Manager. I'll give the db check a shot and will play around with enabling/disabling the OCR option in ScanSnap to see if it makes a difference.

Thanks for the update. I'll keep an eye out on the v10 releases to see if the searching gets better over time.

I tried a different notebook that hasn't had any new documents added in about 2 years. Same kind of search on a unique last name. 104 found on v10 vs 112 found in Legacy. Not terrible, but I would hope that search would be consistent between the two versions. I did check my ScanSnap options and for the Scan to Evernote profile, "Convert to Searchable PDF" was not selected. I don't know if this was required or not for Evernote to effectively search PDFs. If it is required, it could be that the last update to ScanSnap may have changed that option. It has been quite some time since this software has had an update though, so I couldn't tell you.

Sure. I did a bit more testing. I selected a notebook that is full of some scanned in documents, clicked into the search box, and did a search on a particularly unique last name. 73 items found in v10 and 103 in Legacy. My first search where I noticed the issue was against a 4 character abbreviation, so maybe that was a case of the Legacy search just working a bit better than v10, or maybe the indexing is different between the two versions.

I'd be interesting to hear if you find a resolution to this issue, as I just noticed it today. I still use EN Legacy version on Windows so I can scan documents (PDF) directly into it via the ScanSnap scanner. For the past few weeks I've been firing up the new v10 version of EN for everything else (and it has mostly been good). Today I was search for a series of PDFs that I've been scanning in for quite some time. v10 only found two results, while Legacy found tons of them. Upon first look, it would appear that any PDFs created within the past year or so, just don't show up in search results in v10.
