I think putting “-tag:” in front of your tag name should do it, e.g.
-tag:myunwantedtag

Following up on @DTLow's comment, you can directly access shortcuts using CMD-(number), e.g. CMD-1 will open the first shortcut, CMD-2 will open the second, etc. If you make your table-of-contents note your first one, you'll always be able to jump to that using CMD-1.

When you turn off auto-renewal payment you should still get the full amount of Plus/Premium time that you have already paid for. The service downgrade will occur when your paid time expires and the payment is not auto-renewed.

If you really only use EN as a file cabinet, then yeah, any kind of filesystem syncing solution would work (Dropbox, Box, Files, etc.). I still have a slight preference for using Evernote to house files since the note provides both a place to house files of a similar type as well as space to add annotations. To use a mundane example, I keep all of my utility bill statements. Two approaches I could do:

But as PinkElephant said, you don't need to solve problems you don't have 😄 For a straightforward "store these files" with no additional needs, Files would probably be fine.
