It depends on your WP I guess - Office 365 has a button...

Gobsmacked is the word that comes to mind for describing my reaction to your screenshot ... I had become so certain that only Excel could sort like that, that well, I never noticed the similar functionality in Word...

otoh, it is good to be wrong as long as ignorance is replaced with knowledge...

Totally agree it's a 'nice to have',  but it takes me about 1 second to copy and paste a list into my WP,  sort it and paste it back,  and I do that maybe once a month.  Just sayin'.

I find Excel more useful for list-sorting than a WP, but I am open to learning new "tricks."  How would you sort (say, alphabetically) in a WP?  Even as I type this I have a nagging feeling that your reply is going to be so straightforward that I will be amused at my ignorance.

Form several threads it seems there is a problem with 10.60.0 for some, and none for others like me.

I just don’t see at the moment what is driving the difference. Usually I would expect that on iOS, it either works or it doesn’t - apps are sandboxed, so in general they should run pretty shielded from each other.

How much free RAM do you have ?

Work has been busy, else I could have replied sooner.  CPU RAM cache is 6 GB, of which 1 GB is free.  As for storage, there is 144 GB free.

The admins are smart enough to deal with all the tickets they find in this thread - I'm sorry for the wait,  but there are just too many issues and too many tickets for this to be a quick process.  Support will get to you as soon as they possibly can...

You're right, of course.  I know what you're saying is accurate - I just let emotions get the better of me this afternoon...

It may help to get constructive replies if you quote the actual ticket numbers you are referring to.

Remembering that Evernote has some hundreds of thousands of active users,  you can imagine that Support is quite busy - and unfortunately scalability is hard:  you need staff with both technical and product experience to deal with user issues.

The Forums here are always available to flag tickets for Admins if and when necessary.

You are correct.  My ticket is #3765004

Just ran a little test: I opened a note by a double click (does the same as open in new window). And I did this repetitively, to see what happens.

Each note opened where the one before has been, plus a little offset to the right. To me it looks as if it saves the position of the last new window, and moves the next one slightly to the richt, to be able to show several windows nicely and overlappingly arranged.

Maybe you can try and see if it's the same on Windows - I'm on a Mac.

Hi, @PinkElephant.  I tried this again.  First note opened a window in the center of the screen.  Notes (in separate windows) two through 5 all opened halfway off the top of the desktop.

Hi there.  I just tried your suggestion - I am on a Windows machine - two note windows opened in more or less the center of the Evernote application window.  The third note window opened more than halfway off the top of the screen.

  8. @Federico Simionato, good afternoon!

    I have

    10.65.3-win-ddl-public (20231103200848)
    Editor: v176.15.0
    Service: v1.77.1
    © 2019 - 2023 Evernote Corporation. All rights reserved

    installed.

    ================================

When I View or edit a note and choose "Open in New Window" from the "..." menu of the note, the new note window opens at halfway off-screen. I have to use the Move command of the note window to bring the note window into a useful space on my monitor, in order to edit the note. Need resolved thanks.

Evernote issued a brief note to one of my and someone else's 2-week old tickets to apologise that there's a restructure going on to help improve response times.  You'll probably have one soon,  if it hasn't already dropped.  I'd guess they initially rather underestimated the staffing needed for a support team,  and the problem with scaling up is always is that you need experienced techical staff who are familiar with the features - and failures - of the system.  Training takes time.  Be as patient as possible - they will get to you soon!

Support closed my ticket after sending a generic response saying to clear my browser cache before starting Evernote Web.  I made specific reference to the Windows application when opening the ticket, so that was disappointing, to wait over 3 weeks to learn my ticket was likely not read attentively.  Sigh.

Are you working on a Laptop and often change connected displays? In this case I've seen this effect some times because applications (not only EN) save sub-window's placement and try to re-use it even when display extensions change. It's a often heared discussion around responsibility for this: Is it Windows who should avoid this? (my opinion: no) Is it the application who should care about? (my opinion: yes. But many apps (including EN seems to be blind regarding display sizes...)

If you are using display managers like MaxTo that allows to align windows to special grid positions, the effect might appear in some cases (on my screen, some application title bars get hidden). MaxTo corrects such mis-placed windows by simply modifying any window border.

@AlbertR, I ask that you forgive my delayed reply.  I do use EN on a connected (to my laptop) large monitor, but the laptop doesn't travel anywhere and I don't change or disconnect various monitors.  I actually am not using any display managers, fwiw...

Random windows placement seems to be a Windows feature rather than an Evernote issue.  Fortunately Win+<arrow> will jump a window in any direction,  grabbing the title bar allows a drag,  and if you have Windows 11 there are automatic windows layouts you can use.  I have a 2-screen system with (unfortunately) slightly different resolutions,  so sometimes I open a note window on one screen that is over the screen boundaries,  but moving it to the other screen will fix the issue.  If you have a ticket number from Support,  you're in the queue;  but as they're a little busy,  9-10 days seems to be the current normal wait time.

    Hi @gazumped,

Good afternoon.  I wish to apologize for the delay in replying.

I would like to agree with you that random application window placement tends to be a "feature" of the Windows OS, but that has not been my experience - except for Microsoft Money - and that was more than 20 years ago.

No such issue since, until Evernote - currently installed version 10.64.3-win-ddl-public (20231016152524) | Editor: v176.15.0 | Service: v1.76.1.  it has been two weeks since I opened the ticket with support, so they must have their hands full.

Has anyone else experienced this?  I opened a help ticket 9 days ago, with no support having happened so far.

  13. In Evernote v10.52.1 (1207498):

Start with a note that is synchronized and available offline.  Said note has a portrait-oriented JPEG attachment.

Choose to edit the note, then annotate/edit the JPEG. Attempt to rotate the image.

    Wait.

    Wait.

    Wait some more.

Note that image crop and rotate controls are unresponsive.

    But "Cancel" works.

Is this what I should be expecting for the new pricing?
