  1. The sort order of the note list (whether it is all notes, a filtered view inside a notebook or stack, or in search results) is very important to my overall efficiency and productivity. I change the sort order all the time depending on the notebook I'm in and what I"m seeking. It would be hugely helpful (a big time and click saver) to be able to change sort order by key command (on desktop). If this existed, I can see these key command becoming as important as CMD+J and CTR+CMD+M are to me. I might even really like some kind of key command that lets me quickly cycle through the different sort orders in addition to key commands that jump me right to my desired sort order (or one or other...both sound like they'd do what I seek) This request is somewhat related to another feature request where I'd like the sort order to be remembered as part of the "Save current view options for this notebook" preference. Both would make me very happy!
  2. First, I love the new Merge functionality...HUGE improvement and a lovely feature of v10! I'd love to see a granular improvement to it. I've noticed that if I modify the advanced settings of the merge, it doesn't hold those choices for the next time I merge. So, I have to remember to change the settings each time I execute a merge. I would prefer it if Evernote would remember my advanced settings choice until such time I changed it. I believe this used to be an option in Evernote Windows preferences, so maybe there will eventually be preference options for this in v10? Regardless if this is planned for whenever "preferences" returns to the interface, I think I would find it most intuitive if Evernote would just consider my most current advanced options selection how I want the next one to be too. Of course, I could change that if I wanted, but then that would update my ongoing preference as well.
  3. I've also experienced this more than once on the iPhone (needing to restart to get the share option to reappear). And, I've had clients report it to me as well. I mentioned it somewhere else in the forum, and hope that it is being addressed!
  4. Just wanted to report that I had this issue reappear with the 10.5 update. Deleting the app, rebooting the phone, and then reinstalling the app fixed it. But, there seems to be something that is causing a hiccup that impacts my ability to see Evernote as a share option on upgrade upon the first download with some versions of the app update. I'm now on an iPhone 12 Pro running iOS 14.4.
  5. Ahh @Paul A....I see. Thanks for clarifying. The difference is when you're working with the note in it's own window...you and @billmcc want the link to open the note in the window that is open (which it does in Legacy). I notice that Evernote leaves the open window open but makes the 3 column layout the top layout when you click the link. I can see how this makes things clunky for you when working with open windows. I created this gif to show the behavior of the links if you have the note open in it's own window or not, in case those reading this thread wanted to see a visual.
  6. @billmccI don't have this experience. In 10.8.4, the link opens the note in the same window, and if I Command+Click, it opens in a new window (just like Legacy). I'm VERY happy. It also has the functionality that if you hover over the link, the link edit menu options appear. It's odd that you're having a different experience though...wonder why? I'm on a Mac. Are you?
  7. I had this happen to me today on a demo account (basic tier of service). The notebook and stack structure is there, but the notes are completely gone. This is the first time I've logged into the account in v10 and the issue is present on both the web and my Mac on todays release of 10.6.9. My primary (premium) account is fine, as is another demo account I have (also premium). I don't consider this a resolved issue. Should I start a new thread since this one shows as resolved?
  8. I installed 10.3 today. Now, when I go to share a webpage to Evernote from Safari, the Evernote app is not an option. It's gone, and there is no option to add it back. Please advise where it went and how to get it back! I'm on an iPhone X, running iOS 14.2. UPDATE: Self-resolved and adding solution here in case others experience this too. I deleted 10.3, reinstalled it, and rebooted my phone. Not sure if the reinstall, or the reboot was the solution, but the option to share to the Evernote app is back.
  9. The new desktop release now states that "Log files can be zipped and the smaller file size allows for easier emailing of logs". And, that did work. However, when you go to submit a tech support ticket, .zip files aren't a supported file type: So, I'm forced to upzip the file, and there are 3 files. And you only allow 1 to be uploaded, and the only one you support is .log, so that's the one I uploaded. But, I also have no idea if that is the one you actually need or not to help me with my ticket. Doesn't feel good as a customer. It's extra frustrating as I'm trying to empower Evernote to help me by giving them the information they need right at the time I submit the ticket, and create fewer back/forth emails. I certainly hope Evernote fixes this.
  10. I changed the name of this note title to "Flight to Michigan". It was previously "Flight to LAX" (this is a demo account that I'm trying to illustrate something in). Even after quitting the app, and reopening it, the old note title name is reflected in the note list (vs the new note title name) when I do a search. This isn't how it should be. Note that the updated title DOES appear in the note list if I'm just looking at the notes in a notebook (or "All Notes"). So, it appears that the refresh issues is only happening when I search. Super annoying.
  11. I'm unable to delete tags without Evernote without getting this message: It does delete the tag (when I "Reload Page" that tag has been deleted), but I get this every time I try to delete a tag. Here's a video of the process. It shows that the error, plus that the tag is deleted after refresh. 2020-12-22_06-38-11.mp4 I've deleted the app, restarted my computer, and reinstalled the app. Still have the issue. Any other suggestions to fix this? I'm in 10.5.7 on a MacBook Pro running Catalina 10.15.7.
  12. Thanks for articulating this constraint so clearly. I want to specifically mention that (as far as I can see based on the date of this post) there is no mention of this on the pricing table or in the public materials from Evernote. If it is mentioned, it is not clearly visible and I feel that this is a a dis-service to customers. This revoke limit should be stated clearly on the pricing table. I also believe it is this revoking limit that is causing this issue with being locked out of the account. I still believe there is a bug with it (as expressed above). If you reach your revoke limit, you should be forced (and able) to stay with the 2 current devices you are currently logged into. You shouldn't be logged out of all devices and required to go to a device management page to deal with this – especially since Evernote just told you that you hit the revoke limit. Also, users don't have any clarity that they need to go to the device management page to do this. It's currently a terrible workflow/user experience (IMO) and one that causes panic and frustration. And when combined with the lack of access to Evernote at the free level, creates anger towards Evernote. And, it certainly is doing nothing to convert them to premium users.
  13. It appears that when they do this, they are blocking access on ALL devices (it logged me out of every device that it says I was logged into). And, it wouldn't let me log in, nor gave me directions on how to access my device management list. I've come to understand now that the device list should be accessible and able to be managed via this link, but: #1: Knowing about that link is an issue (panicked users who can't access their data aren't able to find the reference to the device limit page that is buried in FAQ links on this page and #2: If it isn't allowed to be on a 3rd device at the premium level, Evernote should never go so far that a 3rd device actually gets logged in their account (resulting in a full lock out). And, #3: I have been unable to definitely confirm that if you get into this situation where you are locked out of your basic account, that you indeed can access the device limit management page and resolve this (I've been told you can, but I don't have a free account anymore on the account that surfaced this issue for me – I had to upgrade to solve it) and when I shared this solution with my community/customers who are also reporting this issue, I've gotten no one who can confirm it solved the issue for them. If anyone here can confirm success in re-accessing their basic account with the device management link, that would be helpful to know.
  14. Completely agree that this is very important to address. It is so unintuitive the way it works now. The interface will let you select multiple notes in the notes panel, but if you drag/drop them to any notebook on the left nav (which the interface makes it look like you can do), it only moves the top note of your multi-note selection? Doesn't make any sense at all. Since the multi-drag/drop is part of Legacy Evernote, I trust this will return to v10 – I hope it is sooner than later. I'm upvoting this and hope others do too. This is a huge deal for me in terms of being able to explain organizing Evernote to other users. You've made it very difficult, as I have to explain that 1) they can only move up to 50 notes at a time (big issue which I understand will change over time, but it is the current reality), and 2) the only way to move notes in mass is to use the move command or icon in the blue bar at the bottom vs using the intuitive drag/drop method which the current interface make it look like works, but it doesn't. In terms of training users, this function is more important to me than key commands (which I consider essential) and the way it works now is frustrating as well as a very big obstacle for me in explaining how Evernote works. It's clunky...not elegant. In Legacy, it's elegant.
  15. I'm having customers who are on the free account also report this to me. This feels like a HUGE issue to me, and one that Evernote probably has no way to track the number of people who are having issues, as free users have no ability to contact the company (other than post here in the forums, and I know that so very few do). Can anyone from the company acknowledge if this is a bug that is being addressed? And if it isn't, provide some corrective education for us who are experiencing it so that we can help ourselves and others to access our data?
  16. @DTLow Correct...it SHOULD mean that – I agree! However, the issue is that now I have access on ZERO devices. I just checked my Windows machine which was counting as one of my two devices and I've been logged out of that account too, with my only recourse to pay to access (upgrade my account). Using v10, I'm locked out of my basic account on all devices (apparently as a result of trying to switch devices too many times in a month – BTW, this is NOT disclosed on the sign up page as a constraint of a free account which I feel is deceptive). In an effort to troubleshoot this, I did try logging into this basic demo account using Legacy (I actually was already logged in and just flipped accounts over to it....hmmm...I wonder if they are considering Legacy to be a device and v10 to be a device? Except...I was successfully logged into Mac and Windows v10 prior to trying to log into web and drop my Windows device). Basically, this is clearly not working as presented. And, it is 100% not clear to the user what the issue is.
  17. I am clear on the 2 device limit for basic acocunts. I am also clear that the web now counts as a device. In working with a demo account (that is at the basic level) today that I use in order to train people on how to better use Evernote, I ran across an issue that I believe is a bug in how the device limitation is enforced and has resulted in me being locked out of the basic account all together. I can see how this would infuriate users. Currently, I have no access to my basic account. Instead, I get this message: I saw the warnings about a limit of 2 times (although, I don't think they are clear...despite reading them, I was certain I had one more device unsync/switch left this month,). However, my real issue is that when I reached the capacity limit by trying to log into web (while still logged into desktop), Evernote has now signed me out on both desktop, and the web, and won't let me back in to either. Why would it sign me out of desktop? And, why won't it let me back into 2 devices – the last 2 I was logged into? Isn't the intent of the limit that I now can't change my mind again and flip back into the web? The way it is working, Evernote has locked me out entirely. This is a terrible user experience. If this is how it is designed (if you exceed the # of device flits you can do you aren't allowed to access your account at all), I think this is a huge problem for the free tier. I'm hoping it is a bug and someone can help me to re-access this account w/o having to pay. Happy to wait till the next month to once again change devices, but until then, I should still be able to access my account on 2 devices...right? And, to clarify, I am also logged into this account on my Windows machine (which I'm sure Evernote sees as one of my devices). However, I still don't understand why I can't still get into this account using the Mac desktop (which I was logged into before trying to switch devices to the web). Frustrating for sure...
  18. When I went over to legacy Evernote to see if I could correct this, I got the message that "names must be unique". So, that makes sense, but the interface in v10 should give me that message, not just auto-rename my notebook to a unique notebook name. I would prefer to know that the name is already taken. In short, the legacy Evernote workflow/notification system is preferred and more intuitive to users.
  19. If I try to rename a notebook, it is adding numbers (appears to be a notebook ID or something) to the end of the notebook name. I'm unable to remove it. This is in a basic tier account. I haven't tested it in a premium account. 2020-12-14_07-14-22.mp4
  20. I could not be more excited to read this in today's blog post by @Ian Small: "In upcoming releases, we will restore a full slate of keyboard shortcuts (and add a matching quick reference guide), move the insert menu to be more easily within reach for large screens, and change links in notes to require only a single click." Thank you Evernote for listening to us!!!! https://evernote.com/blog/state-of-the-product/
  21. @PastorPaulReynoldsIs anyone posting the actual build # of the app? That's what I'm looking for.
  22. I'm not yet seeing the Andoid app rolled out to my device so I can't answer this question. Hoping someone can help me out. What is the exact build number of the Andoid app? Is it 10.0.0? Something else? And a related question – Is the Android app release version mapping to the iOS one (which is at 10.2) now that they are both out? I would expect that now that the clients are out for both mobile platforms, that when a release is done on one, it will be done on the other (so new features will come to both platforms at the same time). Is this a logical assumption? And, will the build numbers be the same for both platforms as a result? Can anyone (or Evernote) clarify this for me? TIA.
  23. I've tested all of the new features, and the ones listed above either do not work for me, or I'm not clear what they mean. I have an iPhone X running iOS 14.2. Tags from Mobile Clipper: Others have reported this above. I have the same issue. You can add a tag in the clipper, but it doesn't appear in the app when I sync the note. Multiple attachments: When in the note editor, I go to insert attachment. When I click on one of the files to add to the note, it adds that file. It doesn't give me the ability to add multiple in the same window. I have to go again through the same process to add another attachment. Is this user error (I might not be understanding what this feature is referring to)? Or a bug? (EDIT: @DTLow showed how to do this below...user error) Advanced editing options: What does this mean? Don't know how to test because I don't know what it is referring to. Can someone please educate me on this? (EDIT: @DTLow showed how to do this below) Google Drive Integration: I see the content block for adding a Google Drive doc and the process to navigate to and add a Google Doc works as I would expect it to, except that when it returns me to the note, there is no link or insertion of the Google doc in the note. This video demos my experience (I don't know how to reduce the size of the video inside this comment...seems to expand to full screen). You can see: In adding the tag via the clipper that the tag briefly appears in Evernote (you can see it on the note screen) but it goes away. I can add attachments, but they have to be one at a time. Google drive is connected, but the inserted doc doesn't save. Bugs.MP4
