  1. I hope you find something else that does what you need. The big issue with the slow performance is that it isn't an issue for everyone. I have a PC that is less than a year old and which I had received just before Evernote v10 was released to the public. I haven't, yet, suffered any speed issues. I suspect that my experience is every bit as common as the disappointing experience that you and others report. Of course it shouldn't be the case and I am sure that the EN devs don't intend it to be the case, but the vast range of devices and configurations of Windows that we all use means it is

  3. Hi, where is the option to remove the dashboard? I'm Premium. I got this annoying new view now every time I open the Evernote Android app and it requires one useless extra tap onto a quite small area "Notes >" to open the notes list which is the main view I need every single time. I found options to edit the contents of this dashboard but I cannot find any option to skip it entirely (also looked into every page of the general settings). And no, just having the "notes" widget doesn't work because it shows only 2½ notes without scrolling, with only one line of preview and a lot of empty space

  4. Feature Request: Add Outlining Capabilities to Evernote Evernote is great, but it's dying for the ability to create Notes that contain Outlines which are easily collapsed and expanded during creation and in use. One way to implement it would be a switchable editing mode, between standard formatting or outline mode. In outline mode, pressing the Enter key creates a new outline item, and pressing the Tab key changes the current item into a sub-item. Clicking on an item's action icon causes its sub-items to collapse out of, or expand into view. That's the way the Ecco Pro PIM did it, and somethi

Home consists of widgets that display your content in a convenient and streamlined view. All customers have a notes widget, a scratch pad widget, and a recently captured widget. Evernote Premium and Evernote Business customers have additional widget options, as well as the ability to customize the appearance of their Home. One of your most-requested features is here! 9. I love Evernote, but it's preventing me from putting in sensitive content. For example, I can't keep a personal journal notebook, because other people (i.e. girlfriend, family members, etc.) could one day be looking at those notes, especially since they know that I use Evernote often for many purposes. Evernote already has the ability to encrypt single notes. This is useful for things like storing passwords or other temporary sensitive content. But it's not practical to encrypt many notes one by one. I wish I could password-protect a whole notebook. This way, I can do a

  11. I simply cannot grasp how can Evernote simply not care about so many thousands of people around the globe - all Arabic, Hebrew, Persian speakers are having terrible experience and not only waste so much time every day trying to work-around the proboem, but more than that - it's a terrible feeling of helplessness and insult. You simply do not give a damn about us. The old editor had some very painful issues with that, and I wrote to you many times in the past few years asking to improve. Now that you have launched a totally new editor, I was very hopeful - but to my huge disappointment

  13. The reinstall resolved the problem. As a software developer of some 45+ years, that kind of thing should occur to me more spontaneously, but my main experience has been on IBM Midrange systems, and so these 'standard' responses to problems in Windows apps still take me a bit by surprise. Thanks for the help!

  16. Nice job rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, guys. The new “home” screen shows less of what I want, and it boots up just as lethargically on my aging iOS devices as the last release did. It’s still taking fifteen goddamn seconds to go from tapping the icon to being able to type in a new note on my iPad Air 3 that handled the old version perfectly well. Ten seconds on my iPhone 6s. And the phone version is very STILL trying to import two images I was stupid enough to try to send from the camera to EN back when 10.8 came out. But I can customize the graphic taking up a quarter of my

  21. @Austin GAh, so I find that one of the issues remains but I have, I think, found a way of reproducing the problem. Every now and then I still find that two notes fail to merge - at least that is what it appeared. I have two notes - one has text and in the test a PDF attached to the note. The second has a title an HTML container which is displaying as expected. I select the two notes. Choose merge and the resulting document contains the text and PDF from the first note, a horizontal rule and noting else. The note which consisted f only an HTLM container with content displayed in

  22. My understanding is that Evernote 10 uses Electron and is mainly written in JavaScript. This means that supporting Katex would require very limited effort for the Evernote team. As an example, Joplin, supports Katex along with many other Evernote features with only one developer for the whole project (and it does not have the performance problems of Evernote 10!) You could argue that only a small % of the Evernote user base would use math equations, but that is true of many features in Evernote. Code block formatting is only used by a minority of users (software developers). Spell checkin

  25. Earlier versions had the possibility to write from Right to Left, and by that be accessible for users who write in Hebrew, Arabic & Persian. The new versions don't have this feature anymore. After years of use, I'm now not using it anymore. sad.

  29. This is at least an 8 year long request and on a very important topic nonetheless. What is Evernote's response to the request for the ability to encrypt notes (not just lines of plain text) or whole notebooks? I don't understand why after 8 years we still don't have it, but I'm sure there's a good reason. It might help to hear the explanation. Thank you.
    1 point
  30. It has been 8 years since this was first requested and from what I can see, Evernote has been completely silent on this issue. Even with the frequency of recent changes and updates, not a word about giving the user an option to encrypt complete notes or notebooks.

  33. +1 This title really made me laugh, because I also use “intitle” so often it is ingrained in my vocabulary, but never thought to calculate the amount of time I spend typing it each year. One tip if you are on iOS and Mac is to set a text replacement in the keyboard settings. I have it so that whenever I type “evnit” it replaces with “intitle:”. That really only saves a few keystrokes but they add up. More frequently I use “evnrt”, which expands to the stupid-long search string required to only search titles of notes where I have a reminder... that expands to: “reminderOrd

  40. All of my notes in Arabic are ruined. I have used Evernote for years and now this update which ruined the limited RTL support my iOS version of the app had has made Evernote useless to me and jumbled years of my work. I could not be more disappointed in this program and now I have to figure out how to migrate all my material to an app that actually cares about non-Western languages.

  41. we were able to use RTL fine until yesterday when we upgraded to the new 10.3.6 version (and today 10.3.7) and it has broken RTL support! now many of our notes have the lines jumbled and out of order.

  42. I totally agree with the previous post : I have been using the Evernote Mac version for the past 4 years, and tabs are an essential part of my workflow, tabs and the possibility to open multiple, fully fledged, Evernote windows. Having them disappear will have a negative impact on how I use Evernote on a daily, if not hourly, basis.

  43. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back tabs! I use the Mac version, and tabs are essential (as mentioned by another poster). I always have several tabs open. I have a Daily Work List that is my main tab and I click on other tabs for doing other work. As a Premium subscriber, I believe that EN should have taken a user survey before making the incredible decision to jerk tabs out.

  44. Watched the recent YouTube video interview. The CEO says "we are not implementing tabs at this point... it was not a heavily utilized feature." Which is a crime, on two aspects. First, Tabs are integral and critical to my usage, because I will have open archival documents simultaneously with my notes and research outlines. But more importantly, second, I didn't know Evernote did tabs until maybe 1-2 years ago. And my brother (finishing a joint MBA/MHA and a big Evernote user) and I were chatting, I complained about the removal of tabs, and he said, "Evernote has tabs?!" Clearly, th

  45. I have been using Evernote for about 10 years, recommended it to several people, was beta tester for a while ... and now I am so disappointed! So many useful functions and shortcuts were scrapped, Evernote has been mutilated! Here are some of my complaints and I am finding more every day: - Is the only option to send a note to a non Evernote user now by copy & paste? really? - The option of easily creating a table of content is gone (yes, I know there is a clumsy workaround). - A big irritation is the window size. When the app is closed, it (often, but not always!) defa

  46. Guys I'm disappointed... Unfortunately the new version is not better, not even the same... It's just a copycat of the web so a lot of desktop features has been dropped... I see that it is easyer to maintain from development side, but as a user... I'm disappointed. How can it be that with an upgrade the app lossing a lot of features? Saving development costs?

  47. +1 --- equally, if not more, important would be the ability to open multiple Evernote windows. This was a feature in Mac well before the "tabs" feature was implemented years ago, and it is definitely frustrating to not be able to open two instances of the window on Mac, especially with multiple monitors and MacOS "spaces". Really hoping this comes back together with tabs

  48. I've participated in the Preview and the Beta programmes for this release. I've noted bugs when I've seen them, responded to the feedback questionnaires and posted observations to the Preview and Beta forums. I'm really surprised to see this release go live when the most recent beta didn't seem nearly ready. It feels as if this release has been rushed rather too rapidly. Perhaps to catch up with the iOS release? It doesn't even feel like a robust Beta, let alone a full release. I appreciate this is a "journey" and improvements can still be made, etc. etc. but shouldn't the app at least
