  1. Hello, I realized the Presentation Mode is gone in the new MacOs update. Presentation Mode is the ONLY reason I paid years of Premium Membership for. I use it almost on a daily basis. I would regret to cancel if this feature is now removed for good. But I hope you can bring it back soon.

  2. Do you think EN rewrote the entire codebase for v10 and NOT build in a pathway to add nested notebooks? If Libin was still the CEO, I would find that plausible. With Small, a CEO who claims that only a tiny minority of the userbase uses tags, I find it impossible to believe. The writing is on the wall. Evernote will get nested notebooks.

  3. Hi all! I have been working through the broken 10.5 version with Evernote support. The moved me to Tech Support and I had a win! Below is the info given. I used the first link and all is ok right now. I have a Pixel 3a. I hope this is ok to post and it helps you guys. << Our developers are working on releasing an update that hopefully addresses the performance and crashes you are seeing. As a workaround, Id like to offer you the steps to rollback to a previous version of Evernote that didn't contain these issues. Our only other option other than rolling back would be to wai

  4. It actually did exist circa 2015 and earlier - you could use presentation mode directly from a mobile device. It was amazing - you could just tap your phone and the slide would advance. I used to use it with airplay to stream to an Apple TV connected to a projector - could then walk all over the room and keep advancing (and seeing) slides from your phone.

  6. LOL, you are living in fantasy land. There's a reason many note apps have nested notebooks. And even among EN users, this is a highly requested feature for as long as Evernote has been around. Telling me about tags is preaching to the (very tiny) choir. I have no desire for nested notebooks, and use very few notebooks, and do not use notebooks to categorize by subject matter, but I also recognize that I am in a tiny minority of users. No less an authority than the current CEO has said that only 2% or 5% (I think he's used both figures in different comments post v10 release) of users

  7. @Mike P, I hadn't.... Thanks. That was all I needed. (Palm hitting forehead) I had been clicking around the area for the format bar but not inside the note.

  8. ... and since v10, nested tags are supported on all clients. The feature was added to the mobile clients as well, making its use universal over all new generation clients.

  9. Same issue on macOS, FWIW. Another user has posted a couple of technical support responses related to reporting this issue, so it appears to be a known issue since at least January:

  11. I am so disappointed in the new evernote. I was part of the beta - I provided so much feedback and i'm fairly certain it was ignored. I have years of evernote - and am a paying user. I dont' know what to do next - i supposed I could just use the free note taking ability that Microsoft includes with my paid for office subscription.

  12. I keep track of projects in Evernote with a few notes about what the status of the project is. To do this I made links to the project folders to quickly view the files inside of them. In the V6.25 I could simply create a hyperlink with the file:// extension and it would pop out the file or folder. I would love to see this feature come back to the V10 version of Evernote.

  14. Hi All, We've now released Evernote for iOS version 10.6! New: One of your most-requested features is here: Now you can edit tables on your phone or tablet! We tidied up the navigation menu to make it easier for you to get around. All Notes is now called Notes, and we rearranged the list items so you can find what you need faster. Evernote Business customers: Don’t want to see every single notebook in a space? No problem! You can now turn that off (or back on again) in Settings > Notebooks. Fixed: Fixed an issue where image is sometimes lost when adding

  15. Hello People, I can not find the option for exporting my written notes to the HTML standard. Is their a reason to exclude the HTML? Enex is not a global standard. For a usage in my projects I need this format. Is their a possibility to export into text? I use the WIndows Application, but my question is, is it so for Apple Application too? Please help me with that issue. I am interrupted by that exclusion to work.

  16. The many new shortcuts/gui changes are making life much easier now, especially for the tag complainers. Among many other interesting shortcuts, CTRL ALT V is very handy to put the content of the clipboard in a new note. At every release, I see performance improvements as well. The database might still be improved but for my workflow it's ok. I also like the same look and feel in the Android version. I just received it and I was really surprised how fast it starts (in comparison to the windows version) and how stable it is and feature complete (for my workflow) It's the firs

  17. Indeed. It's as if he's only been here for a few months. EN has a long history of breaking workflows. What EN has shown repeatedly is if they believe they need to change something to stay relevant/competitive, they will do it no matter how much it disrupts things for their userbase. @ehrt74 I look forward to your sacred cow API being butchered. Exactly - and none of the naysayers has addressed the point that the CEO himself is essentially saying that tags are a niche feature for power users. And everyone who has been here for more than a couple of months should know how much priority EN p

  18. I'm surprised at how certain you seem to be. I don't see why Evernote couldn't choose to break compatibility with legacy one day. They may choose not to, but it's not as if they are opposed to breaking user workflows and making big changes (witness v10 desktop rolling out in all its bug-filled and feature-removed glory, without even officially offering legacy at first! Not to mention the v10 mobile clients where Evernote has chosen not to offer an easy/official way to roll back to the legacy apps. Additionally, a few years ago an Evernote developer/PM commented that they wanted to do nest

  20. We're not talking Elon Musk here - I have no inside info, but my guess would be Evernote bought a corporate package from an online retailer who produced and warehoused the goods and fulfilled all deliveries. Not likely that any management time was spent choosing colours or licking stamps. Plus all that ended 5 years and two CEOs ago, so they've had time to regroup...

  21. As posted in the Feature requests for MacOS already (https://discussion.evernote.com/forums/topic/130731-presentation-mode-is-gone-in-the-new-update-need-it-back/?do=findComment&comment=588063), I would love to see Presentation Mode also on iPad. It has become my main device and also was the reason why after years of being a freemium user I have decided to finally subscribe to a paid plan. Now that I have created a lot of content in the last months, I wanted to use Presentation Mode which I remembered from my early days as an evernote enthusiast years ago. But it’s not available on iP

  22. Too skeuomorphic; notebooks and tags are simply metadata fields, and could be named anything >>maybe put groups into groups if you really wanted I've been looking at the Devonthink product No Notebooks - just Groups (with Tags being a special type of Group)

  24. My experience too. It isn't a shortcut I think I have ever used. One additional 'failure'. I took text from a PDF and tried the action with the results @Mike P reports. As a shortcut, I then opened a blank document in Word and pasted the PDF content there. I then highlighted and copied that Word document to the clipboard and the alt+ctrl+V option still did not work. I made an edit in the text inside Word and repeated the process. THis then functioned as described.

  25. Tried a few of these - with pretty much the same results. Copying from a word document worked for plain text, but if there was any formatting - even paragraphs - then it failed. So, in practice it's hit & miss - useful when it works, but unreliable.

  29. Hi. Several threads in the Forums deal with 'phantom' access to accounts - usually via a user name and password sourced from another account breach online. If Evernote is given the right credentials for access it doesn't have any way to trace that a user is not elsewhere in the world. There are several ways to protect your account - check for breaches here: https://sec.hpi.de/ilc/?lang=en or https://haveibeenpwned.com/ or https://cybernews.com/personal-data-leak-check/ and https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004395487-What-to-do-if-you-suspect-unauthorized-access-to-your-Evern

I am attempting to follow your instructions for exporting notebooks at article https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360053159414 and find that there is no longer an option to right click the notebook (as your help article demonstrates). I am using the windows desktop client, not the web. Please instruct me on how to export entire notebooks, not individual notes, as I have hundreds of notes that I wish to move to opensource freedom-loving Joplin. 32. Hello! Today we released Evernote for Mac 10.9 (v 10.9.10 build 2439). This release includes a lot of changes to the left navigation / sidebar, enables drag and drop for moving multiple notes, a new global keyboard shortcut, and numerous other improvements. Past release notes are archived here. It is available now via the Mac App Store and as a direct download version from our website. If you are already running one of these versions, we are progressively rolling out to compatible devices and the new version will be available on all supported operating systems within 7 days. To

Now the order is something arbitrary or at least I cannot find any other pattern than the reminder date. But in case of remknders with no date, there's no clear sorting for the notes nor ability to affect it.

  37. I am happy that Evernote recently solved system-wide bug of hardcoded keyboard conflict with default keybind in my language (and serveral others); but I still do consider Evernote v10 inferior product compared to Evernote Legacy. I am using Joplin (for text notes) alongside with Evernote (for media-rich archiving), unfortunately most options available are inferior to Evernote Legacy.

Let's check my complaints again: I hate it when I want to open Evernote, and I click the system tray icon I then need to click an extra button to open Evernote (I liked it better to just click the system tray icon to open Evernote). -> Still true. I hate it when I want to open a weblink in Evernote I have to click the link and then have to click the link again in a pop-up, and lots of times it still doesn't open the webpage in my webbrow

  41. I use the hyperlinking to files using "file://..." and would also like this feature reinstated. Additionally I use Zotero as a reference manager. In my evernote note on a paper, I will include a zotero link, so in one click I can get it open in Zotero. Like "file://...", this also doesn't work in version 10 (see below), however works in legacy. When fixing the issue with hyperlinking files, could you please remove the restrictions on using other links like these? I imagine this would be useful for other programs that also have a url callback scheme like this.

Especially when you’re talking about a service that people store their important and often irreplaceable data in. This is... mind boggling.

  46. Hi. Not quite -- local files *AND* folders in macOS (or Windows). Kindly note that this is NOT a feature request. It was a feature / function of Evernote since at least 2009. It is a request to RESTORE a long-standing feature that Evernote programmers broke. As I note at length in a separate post, for projects and due to company policies / updating content, attaching a file to a note is NOT the same.

  47. I am also researching a move from Evernote. I have loved the program, but without presentation mode I am unable to easily read much of my content. Please bring it back. Who could have thought removing such an integral function of the program was a good idea. Again, please bring it back.
