  2. Feature Request: Add Outlining Capabilities to Evernote Evernote is great, but it's dying for the ability to create Notes that contain Outlines which are easily collapsed and expanded during creation and in use. One way to implement it would be a switchable editing mode, between standard formatting or outline mode. In outline mode, pressing the Enter key creates a new outline item, and pressing the Tab key changes the current item into a sub-item. Clicking on an item's action icon causes its sub-items to collapse out of, or expand into view. That's the way the Ecco Pro PIM did it, and something simple like that would be a good start for Evernote. The name Evernote implies a product that takes notes -and collapsible/expandable outlines are a huge part of note taking.

  3. I use, exclusively, the Checkbox format for all my notes. We need to be able to sort contents of these notes -- should be options to do this: 1) alphabetical by items in the list 2) By Unchecked Vs Checked (and alphabetical as a secondary sort, within the unchecked/checked caterogries) 3) by date modified All sort criteria should have the option for direction of sort, for both secondary and primary sorts. (By "direction" I mean like A-Z or Z-A) In case you can only implement this in parts, please do the following as highest priority -- Sort Unchecked before Checked. PLEASE. But we really need alphabetical within that also. Thank you. Please understand that this is IMPORTANT for MANY users. We have been troubled and annoyed by this deficiency for many years. Frankly, it's surprising that a product as good as Evernote should be lacking in functionality for something so basic. I tried to post this issue on one of the Evernote Forums some years ago, but was dismayed to see rude responses to this very suggestion from other users. So, I have refrained from posting anything to the forums. Your forums should be monitored by people who treat all users with respect and dignity. Hopefully, someone will finally take this seriously. Thank you.

  4. afaik This is the only method I also use the note as an overview explaining the purpose of the notebook, perhaps a table=of-contents

  5. Just tested it. At least with my setup, a note will only sync from the watch to the iPhone when EN is active in the foreground on the iPhone. When it was open in the background, it did not sync. Background refresh is active for EN in settings on the iPhone. There are no app settings for the watch.

  7. Not stupid; but it does pay to look at the options. What's really needed is for Evernote's spell-checking to once more allow checking through an entire note, which might at least make the process simpler. That was killed off long ago, when they switched to a different spelling system. Till then, disabling spell-as-you-type is the only way to get rid of the red squiggle. Unless, of course, you want to try one of those self-help affirmations: "I am a person who likes red squiggles. Red squiggles are OK. There is nothing wrong with red squiggles. I am a person who likes red squiggles." Repeat until you either don't mind red squiggles, or get taken away.

  8. That’s OK for me ... I get it. First, I am going to translate what I said in my response to your first comment in Spanish, but in English. Here goes: "With this“ old ”interface, I see EVERYTHING COMPLETE and I can also see the MAIN CONTENT (the last notes) of each section. The way I see it, in the "new" version, I only have one icon (I don't know the content of that section). For the rest, beyond the explanation I found in the forums about the changes, is there a SOLID reason why this “old” interface cannot be ADDED -just as an option- to choose THE MODE in which we SEE our contained in a cell phone? By default, there may be that option that you show there. And as an OPTION, the one that I show in the image that I attach ... What is the technical complexity so that, in a new version, there are TWO options (one by default -the new- and the other as OPTION -the “vintage” -)? " Then, I am going to tell you what I think about what you propose. I understand everything you wrote and it seems reasonable to me, but nevertheless I write this because I am an Evernote user (like many other Evernote users), who LOVES this application and finds it EXTREMELY USEFUL. My FUNDAMENTAL objection and that leads me not to update the application, is regarding the HUGE amount of comments that I have read about the loss of notes and the content of the notes. Then, of course, there is the problem that, in my view, is also decisive, and has to do with the use of the NEW user interface: it is less friendly, since you MUST DO MORE STEPS to find a note. And this does not happen, I believe, with the "old" user interface. Finally and not least, for me (although almost no one sees it this way) it is the AESTHETIC BEAUTY of the old user interface. Of course, I understand what you say, without a doubt. Despite this, I ask you again and again, is it very complex (despite all the reasonable explanations you have given me) to put this "vintage" user interface option in a new Evernote update? I send you a greeting and I hope that this option may ever exist in Evernote and that there are no more problems regarding the loss of notes and their contents. THANKS A LOT!

  9. It's not as simple as a single direct shortcut, but it is possible to get there with the keyboard alone. The exact procedure depends on where the focus is when you start. The Tab key moves left to right and Shift+Tab moves right to left. So if you are in the Left Panel (the list of notebooks, tags, etc.), pressing Tab moves to the Search Bar at the top of the Note List; Tab from there moves to the Note List itself; the next Tab moves to the title field of the current note in the Note Panel; and one more Tab moves to the body of the note itself. Shift+Tab reverses direction in the same sequence, but if you are in the body of a note, you first must use F2 to move to its title field; then Shift+Tab moves to the Note List, the Search Bar, and the Left Panel in order. It's that F2 that is the tricky part, in my experience. Clear as mud, eh (as we used to say)?

  10. Cannot believe still not possible. I can't see how this is difficult to code.
