  1. Thank you Dave & PE. I appreciate the feedback. I'll go premium. Take care out there! Warm regards, KG

  2. In general note history can do good in many cases. As Dave said, it runs for all accounts in the background, as well while on Basic. You can just not access it, but the history data is all there. What it will not do is retrieve a note that had not yet been synced to the server. Note history is running on the server, so a note that did not sync will not be retrievable. @ebizmarket Maybe check about what „vanished“ means before upgrading ! If it was saved to a client, you can go to the web client (never counts as a device) to have a look at the server status.

  3. And @AndreasM will always come in with no help, but lies and insults. Lie: There are no "gurus," a category once applied to dedicated forum volunteers who created a large number of posts. The category no longer exists, but the people do exist, and they do acknowledge problems, sometimes even point them out. Next lie: Believe it or not, some people like to be helpful for free. I know, this won't change the troll's behavior. I've just had enough of lying, and feel like calling it out. As for the actual problem, as @dcon pointed out, the issue is not that "Evernote won't

  4. As a student of Business Economics, it is necessary many times to write on my notes mathematical symbols and equations; it is not available now, however, wouldn't it be a great feature?

  5. Two features to greatly improve the note writing and organization experience: Header Styles – Standard header styles, such as Title, Sub-title, Header 1, etc. Medium, Google Docs, and Slack Posts all are great examples of this. You should be able to select these header styles using a click of a button. The current workaround is painful: change font size for the header line, then change font size again to start writing in the smaller font. Note Outline – Once you create headers, these headers can then become a note outline that can easily be navigated. Look to Google Docs for a gre

  6. Hi guys, This is the developer of EverTool, an Evernote editor helper. In this post, I would demonstrate why I create this tool, how this tool can help you enhance the productivity, and present all the features you can use in this tool. Thanks for gazumped suggested to post it on this forum. As one of the Evernote user, I love Evernote and I think it is still the best note-taking tool. However, there are some features requested by lots of users, like Markdown, text style management, templates, etc.. As an engineer, I agree that the Evernote team has their roadmap to build and enhance

  7. For several years, I've used a service called Evernote Calendar Connector from Cronofy to connect reminders in my Evernote notes to my Google Calendar (Cronofy can link to other calendars too). I'm posting this in case others who use it are also currently having trouble. Cronofy has worked well for me, but in April 2020, perhaps even already in March, it became unreliable. Adding or changing a reminder within an existing note often does not create or change a Google Calendar reminder. It was hard to tell if it's really still working at all; but at any rate, I no longer felt that it could

  11. Hi, Kelly, and welcome to the forums. Note history is a paid feature because ... well, because they have to charge for something to stay in business, and this is one of the things they chose to charge for. You can sign up for Premium for just one month, access your note's history (which is retained for all notes on all accounts, Basic or Premium), and then cancel the Premium subscription and drop back to Basic. Hope this is some help.

  12. If I remember, it just goes into your default notebook. You can also drag/drop the enex to a specific notebook (or just to the note list).

  14. Today, I updated Catalina to 10.15.2 and was using 10.15 or 10.15.1 before that. Skitch 2.8.4 from App Store used to work fine with the "old" Catalina versions; with 10.15.2, nothing at all happens when I push the screenshot (fullscreen or area or timed area) button in the Skitch app. Skitch has the screen record permission in Settings-Security-Privacy-Screen Capture. Is that a known defect?

  15. So we agree, then, that Evernote appears entirely unique its inability to paste line breaks? i.e. That every known program can do this except for Evernote? Am I the only one who finds it unreasonable that this is necessary to capture a line break?

  16. Yes Various methods. I think the simplest is to create a table of contents note The titles can then be copy/pasted https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005667-How-to-create-a-table-of-contents-with-links-to-other-notes I'm a fan of taking titles to a spreadsheet foe extended processing

  17. Thanks Gazumped. No luck. I'm able to get to the help page but when I enter a search request it returns nothing. (I haven't forgotten my password but as EN have used this as an example search I have used it as a test here in the expectation that it would return a result). https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&query=forgot+my+password&commit=Search I'm wondering if EN can not find a Help & Learning file and whether I should uninstall and reinstall the software, which I'm reluctant to do if everything else is working normally.

  18. Overall I think people want more customization to their Evernote and want to make it look the way that works for them. Different size fonts, different layouts for ShortCuts, or note views, more color options etc. I am all for it as well. I use it all day long and it is the app that I spent the most hours according to RescueTime everyday. Thus, I want it to feel, look the way I like it. Of course, with a lot of customization options, comes a lot of problems for the developers and for the users. I would trust the Evernote team to walk that fine line nicely.

  19. +1 for regular-chronological sort. This should be relatively easy to implement and frankly it's a must-have. I bought a tablet specifically to catch up on reading, and "catching up" => "oldest first." I can't imagine halriko544 and I are the only 2 who need this.

  20. In case anyone is interested, I found the solution myself. Instead of sending highlights via email through a native option offered by instapaper, I opted to https://ifttt.com, which has the same applet but with the necessary functionality. Works like a charm for me.

  21. I am always amazed when idiots discount the original request as invalid. I use my phone app and it is stupid to force ludicrous formatting on me so I can't even paste anymore!! I have to manually type it in. Even undo formatting after the fact ruins all my old text by adding extraneous newlines as per HTML conversion. So yes, people DO WANT TO PASTE WITHOUT FORMATTING PLEASE!!!

  22. That may be. But why can't Evernote allow the user to chose? It would be a simple reassignment of a hot key, and they would ofcourse leave the default setting as "copy with format". 90 % of the time I open notepad, it is to perform a paste-copy to remove formatting. I'd rather do that than having to battle with different formatting in a document. It is quicker than changing font, size, bold, italics, line height etc. Not to mention when I then find I am blessed with weird invisible stubborn formatting, that refuse to die. Then the easy way out is to copy paste into notepad (which I should have

  23. I dislike that I am forced to remember to use a special keyboard command every time simply because Evernote will not allow me to configure what my default paste CTRL+V command does. HAVE ANYONE EVER wanted to paste text WITH formatting? This should be the special command, not the other way around. I find this incredibly stupid. I never want to copy formatting, and every time I have to make efforts to avoid it. I have not yet internalized the alternate paste command CTRL+SHIFT+V, so I end up pressing WINDOWS+R, typing notepad, CTRL+V, CTRL+A, CTRL-C, back to Evernote, CTRL+V!
