  1. Please implement something for the night owls

  2. Clipping web pages is a great feature, but it's now quite tedious to get back to the original page from within the note. The old interface provided a link to the page at the top of the note (which opened in a new tab), but now it's hidden in the note info. That wouldn't be too bad, but the URL is in a text box, meaning we can't click it to go to the page - it has to be manually copied and pasted into a new tab. Please add a faster way to get from a note to the original page! Steve.

  3. Hi there, @evernotehelps suggested I post this here – I've recently begun to use the Brave browser (https://www.brave.com/) and so far think it's pretty great. On Safari I'm a big fan of the webclipper and would love to see it implemented for Brave as well. Any chance that might happen soon?

  4. If you want any of that content, you should export your notebooks, individually to .enex format and save those files (if your employment rules allow it) on a USB stick or something before you uninstall Evernote. Of course, those notes are probably also the property of your employer, so you might want to consider what you're doing there. Anyways, if you want to destroy the database, then before uninstalling Evernote, open it up, and on the main menu to Tools / Options, and select the General taab. Click on "Open Database Folder"; you should be taken to a File Explorer view of a folder that's in a directory something like <USER NAME>/Evernote/Databases. Save that folder name somewhere. Now shut down Evernote. In File Explorer, go to your database folder (that you saved away earlier). All the files in there that have ".exb" as part of their name comprise your Evernote database. Delete them, and your database will be gone. For that matter, you can go up a lever from the Databases folder, and then delete everything there. But do not start up Evernote again after this step, or it will try to sync notes back down again. Uninstall it instead. If you really want to be cautious, you could empty your recycle bin, and then use some utility to clean up used disk sectors.

  5. Never mind. I was able to solve this the hard way. On the download page, I copied the hyperlink from "If your download didn’t start, click here." Then I pasted it into the browser and manually changed the numbers to the version I needed from information contained in the "Add or remove programs" system setting in Windows. In my case: Version 6.24.2: https://cdn1.evernote.com/win6/public/Evernote_6.24.2.8919.exe Changed to version 6.23.2: https://cdn1.evernote.com/win6/public/Evernote_6.23.2.8859.exe I then ran the installers in order, version 6.23.2 followed by version 6.24.2. This successfully upgraded my computer to the latest version of Evernote. Hope this helps everyone else.

  6. Difficult to see how it is a Teams issue--as it's coming from the Evernote integration. Will ask though or otherwise just scrap the integration if it's not working like it should, which is disappointing.

  7. 1) I would be legitimately interested in understanding what others think the difference between these two things are. To me (admittedly, not having read the entirety of this 11-year-long forum discussion because I think the general drift is right there in the discussion thread title), they seem at first blush to be the same. Note: I think this is a question solely about notebooks, not about tags. 2) When we get on the other side of this huge lift we are in the middle of, I look forward to moving on to dealing with issues like putting this 11-year-long forum discussion to bed. Not next week, not next month, but certainly not taking another 11 years to get there... That's the kind of thing we're trying to free ourselves up to do - provide functionality improvements that are made impossible by the knots our current infrastructure and app layer has us tied up in. But right now it's one thing at a time, and this first thing we're tackling is proving to be a difficult beast to tame. Apparently, there's something to that thing they used to say on the Bugs Bunny / Road Runner Show: "Watch that first step... it's a big one." Back to lurking ian

  8. I have a workaround now. I hope it can help others as well. I wrote a script that converts the plain text in the clipboard to HTML that is accepted by Evernote as a code block. You can then easily paste the code without messing up formatting. If you paste it outside a code block, you will get a code block with your code inside. If you paste it inside an existing block, you will also get the code pasted correctly, however it will insert one extra line break before it. You have to remove it manually. Install AutoHotkey Download the WinClip library Get my script Place evernote_code_wrap.ahk (my script), WinClip.ahk and WinClipAPI.ahk (from the WinClip library) next to each other in a folder Run evernote_code_wrap.ahk Now, you can press Ctrl+Alt+V to convert and paste. (There is also Ctrl+Alt+P to just convert inside the clipboard without immediately pasting.) You can set up AutoHotkey to load the script automatically when you start your computer.

  9. They have actually improved the handwriting and created shapes tools. But, still lack: 1. A better highlighter tool that doesn't show "layers". 2. The No Autosave function is crazy. Why go to all the work of making a nice tool and then no autosave? I get a phone call when I am writing and everything I have written is lost. 3. Sketches were a "thing" 5 years ago. Today, with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, these are real note taking tools. We should be able to handwrite pages of notes inside the app. (Don't get me started about how bad Penultimate is), plus it is external to the App. Apple Notes and OneNote allow one to create notes in the app. BTW. I'm doing the same thing as DTLow, creating content in Notability or Apple Notes and then sending it to a note in Evernote. Slow, but more reliable.

  10. I’m having the exact same problem. If my ipad screen goes to sleep, all notes disappear. theres no autosave?

  11. I experience the same! Very annoying. I’ve lost so much work like this. It seems that some bug has resulted in all sketches being flattened to images too, and without any sign of when this might be resolved. Time to switch to another app!

  12. I routinely lose my hand written notes when I fail to press “done”. This is a source of huge frustration. Please can Evernote implement an auto save feature for handwritten notes / drawings. 🙏

  13. This needs to happen for Windows users. Great that Dark Theme is out for Android, iOS, OSX, but still missing for Windows. Evernote is the ONLY app in my workflow that doesn't support dark mode in Windows. A lot of the "duplicate threads" also requesting this seem to now be deleted. Please make this happen.

  14. There are two methods to contact support All Accounts Twitter @evernotehelps Paid Accounts Contact Evernote Support As a paid account; I use the web site. After answering the questions, I'm presented with Submit Ticket is on the right

  15. This isn't just a night owls/dark room thing. I regularly prefer non-white backgrounds while working during the day in a regularly lit room. Evernote offers so much; but not so much as one alternate theme? SERIOUSLY? Please implement this ASAP. It can't possibly be much work in the scheme of things.

  16. Please develop a webclipper for Brave. I'm in the process of switching from opera to Brave and I'd hate to lose the integration with Evernote.

  17. I agree with the request. I am a big Evernote "clipper" and have also switched to Brave. If not a big deal to certify, it would be a much appreciated feature.

  18. Thanks, @Amplias, for specifying the platform you're working on! It varies from one platform to another currently, so you might check the settings in the ipad app and see if there's an autosave option. There isn't in Android, but in Android Evernote prevents the screen from sleeping. Still, during a long edit I will save or sync (two different things in the Android app) periodically to be safe.

  19. How long will I have to continue staring at photos of my ex-boyfriend in many notes? It's hurting me so bad, it makes me not want to use Evernote. It can't be a difficult feature to install. I just want to have my own control of what pictures show up in the thumbnail. Even if I delete the photos, they still come back up in the thumbnail. it's like he's haunting me, please...
