  2. Hi All, Since Evernote’s earliest days, the five clients (Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, and Web) have been evolving separately, tackling the challenges of software development in subtly different ways.In this installment of Evernote Behind the Scenes, CEO Ian Small talks to Mike, a senior member of the engineering team, about the work they’re doing to reunite the Evernote family. Ian and Mike discuss the fundamental changes they’re making to how Evernote communicates between client and cloud, and how they’re tackling the difficult task of making a single shared code library work across t

  3. Since this is just a beta (I'm running what seems to be v5.29.0 on Edge(Chromium) I'm going to report it here. A minor issue, since I have almost moved to the Web Client for editing purposes. I see a difference in display of the header boxes Evernote generates during merging. I created two notes in the Windows client and merged them. Looks OK on Windows, but the generated header boxes look really different on the Web. Evernote often did some "special" processing of some "Evernote-internally-generated/used" items, so this may be the reason. This is what it looks like on in the W

  4. Today we released Windows 6.24 GA. It's available here! What’s in 6.24 GA? Fixed: Some users experienced errors when connecting Evernote to Google Drive The app would not restart after changing language settings When clicking on a notebook, the app would not always load the first note in that notebook The confirmation window when exiting the app was not always visible “Synchronizing notes” progress bar was not appearing

  5. I'm using the web client more and more and am very happy with it (v5.29.0). There seems to be a much newer version out, but I would not know how to get it. Who knows, my comment may already have been addressed and not only therefore been superfluous. I find the formatting of note titles confusing. As far as I remember, the title has always been quarantined above the notebook/tags/editing bar. But since there is an extraordinary, unexplainable amount of space between the functional bar and the note title, it now seems to be part of the note body. But remember: it's a different field

  6. Folks, on all of my Microsoft Word memos I have "line numbering" turned on. It is an invaluable help especially during conference calls - e.g., "let's discuss line 297" versus "let's go to the second paragraph on the third page". Everyone in the business world who has seen this has adopted the idea. My suggestion is to offer line number as an option on notes. Both on display and print formats. Thank you for an amazing product that is my "go to" app.

  7. I can quickly add a time and date stamp from my Mac but not from iPhone. But I need it most from my iPhone because I take 90% of my notes in the field. If you can add a button either in the bottom menu where the font buttons are or at the top where the alarm setting button is, that would be AWESOME! Thank you Al

  8. Yeah this might be the final straw with me for Evernote. I like a lot of thing and have tried so hard to stick with it so I can keep existing sorting , but this is driving me nuts. I want to be able to continue reading something where I left off. That’s not a huge request 😕

  9. I have EN Premium so have a version history trail for my notes. Yesterday I was tidying up some notes using the Beta editor. I also noticed that the sort was not working correctly. When I looked at note info I discovered that the Created Date had been overwritten and was the same as the Updated Date!! Moreover all historical versions now have the same date which is the Updated Date I have raised this to EN on the Feedback form, but is this something any of you are seeing!

  10. I find that frequently when I use Web clipper under Windows to save a Web page into Evernote, or share to Evernote from a browser on my Android phone, I get a lot of HTML formatting such as headers that makes the note difficult to use and edit. I've just discovered that the Web beta editor can fix such problems. I used it to open a note that had been clipped from the Web and had header styling near the top. I selected the header text, and the leftmost element of the editor's formatting toolbar showed it as styled "Large header." Clicking on that, I selected the option to "Apply 'Normal text.'"

  11. Second that. The new web editor beta (hopefully to arrive on other platforms) is great. "Simplifying" web clips on my Windows Desktop version often leads to problems with images and the like; I started resorting to the Web Editor Beta for most of that work. The clear indication of what is HTML content, and much better results in converting that to editable (simplified) content are far superior. Also, the editor allows for some features like multiple highlight colors (although the yellow for whatever reason is not the yellow of the desktop, but an uglier variant --- at least in my view), b

  12. This is a great idea. Nearly every text editor gives you an option like this, and it's extremely helpful with larger line counts.

  13. I used free version to take notes. I am good at basic functionalities of evernote before the "basic" plan limited sync devices to 2. I don't use high-tech evernote functions. I just want to be able to sync notes across at least 4 devices and I'm happy to pay $1/month for this basic service. Thanks!

  14. I couldn't agree more -- I find myself using Evernote -- but the editing is just ok. I use MD routinely and would strongly stay as a supportive customer if we could have those simple editing tools added. Creating a note with Markdown support enabled or creating a Markdown note would be ideal!

  15. Dear Devs in Evernote. Evernote is the best note taking app out there hands down. But for anybody working in development one big issue is missing markdown support. Nowadays Markdown is: a standard, a convenient, fast and reliable method to write tech docs That's why any developer I know, including myself, is using some additional Markdown editor trying desperately to fit it somehow into Evernote workflow. There is plethora of such tools: Atom iA Writer Bear Writer Byword Day One Markdown Pro Marxico Quiver Ulysses
