  1. Hi. If a description of my current setup (above) didn't put you off, I'd say the easy thing to do is to create a new note with a table to hold your content. If you think you might have more than one level of dashboard, it may be worth setting up a new notebook for 'dashboard notes' so you keep them together. Create a general note on one specific topic - say 'daily tasks' and list your tasks so you don't have to remember them. Get and copy the link to this note. Then in your top level note, create an entry that says 'Dailies' and add the link from your 'daily tasks' note. Repeat the process for health / car / house - whatever other subjects you want to see listings for. Change the created year of your top level note to something like 2999 so it's always at the top of a created-date-sorted list. Add a shortcut to this note from your computer and 'phone desktops. To add images, you copy and paste into a table cell. I'm not sure whether anyone has added 'dynamic' images in terms of ones that change daily - but they'll comment here if that's possible... Have a look at Filterize - https://filterize.net/ - if you can get your head around it, the app 'could' dynamically change notes for you, but you'd have to create the linkages for yourself... Hope that helps. Keep asking questions if you want - I'd suggest starting a new topic of your own in the Forums so as not to hijack this competition too much!

  2. Hello, Evernote for Mac 7.14 is now available. You can download it here. Fixed: Sometimes the app would get stuck loading a note (usually a web clip or shared note) until finally it gave up and assumed you were offline. But now your notes should load fast enough to make you smile. If you updated to macOS Catalina then tried to highlight text inside a PDF, it would look like there was nothing selected. You could say it was a big fail, but on the bright side, we fixed it. Updates to templates

  3. Yes, I may end up doing this but there is a quite a lot of notes I changed (by ticking some check boxes) so would rather not do loads manually Thanks foe the suggestions guys, I am in discussion with support too as it makes sense to get the bug fixed, if there is one

  4. Yeah, this is a new concept for me in Evernote. @Atif 's design is amazing! I just can't figure out how to accomplish that look, let alone that layout! I have used EN for many years but have also struggled to make in an everyday tool because of the features it lacks at times, but seeing some of these customizable looks makes me think maybe I just didn't know you could do certain things, or that you could accomplish certain looks! Is there a HOW-TO somewhere out there that can walk someone through a design as comprehensive as @Atif?

  5. Fantastic post and great dashboards folks, loving it! I've been feeding my OCD for almost 4 years now (few days left :)), here's a snapshot of what my dashboard currently looks like. Essentially, I break it down to 52 weeks, each week consolidating activities from projects, tasks, a bit of journal and daily drivers. Its a very elongated single column table to make it easy on mobile interfaces.

  6. Often, when I'm editing the middle of a Note, the cursor jumps to the top of the Note and starts entering text there, not where I initially placed the cursor and began typing. So, the first letter or two will appear where I began typing in the middle of the Note, then suddeny it continues to type the rest of that word at the very top of the Note. I'm using Chrome.

  7. I have a 10.5 inch iPad Pro from 2017. ANYTIME I leave the app even for a couple seconds and come back, the note refreshes and I lose my place and have to scroll back to where I was. I thought at first that maybe this was just a limitation with the mobile version of the app but I also have an Android phone and it doesn’t have this problem with the mobile app. Anyone else experiencing this? I have began to switch over to OneNote, which I really didn’t want to do, just to avoid this issue. I would really appreciate if someone has a solution to this. thanks

  9. Hmmm. One question, ENML or EML files? Three thoughts, There is an option in EN to export attachments for selected notes, but it would be really hard to accidentally do that. Hard to tell without the file extensions visible in the PDF. Any of these files ones you've imported in the past, didn't delete and they got moved around in your reorg? Have you ever tried a product called Backuppery? It creates a folder structure for backups that mirrors notebook structure.

  10. Good thing about this thread are the examples. So take the best ideas and roll your own. Have fun doing it.

  11. Ha-ha -- I can be obsessive sometimes, but this was something I wasn't looking for, but stumbled across in Pachikov's' Wikipedia page and thought it might be of interest... maybe to other obsessive types. I'm done, now I swear, on this subject anyhow. That's the flip side of being able to store all that diverse collection of stuff -- finding any of it. We could use a file system to store all of our stuff, too (and little known fact: the Windows file system supports tagging; see e.g. https://www.howtogeek.com/344543/how-to-tag-any-windows-file-for-easy-organization/) but Evernote's search seems a lot more accessible to me.

  12. Wow, the patent application. @jefito, the obsessive in me bows to the obsessive in you.

  13. Begging to differ, Jeff, but in a list of checkbox items, drag and drop works fine. You do have to be careful of the beginning and end if you want to move the whole line, checkbox and all. It works with bulleted and numbered lists too. See my earlier post:

  14. Through all this, let us not forget search, my personal how-come-for-why. The only reason I put anything into EN is so as to be able to get at it later with ease.

  15. Thanks for your patience as we continue to identify the cause of this Sign in with Google issue. As a workaround, please create an Evernote password for the account. Go to https://www.evernote.com/ForgotPassword.action Enter your email address and click "Send Verification email" Click on the password reset link in your inbox and create a new password Open the Evernote for Windows Desktop app Enter the email address and new password

  16. As always, I respectfully disagree with @DTLow's understanding of Evernote's primary nature as being a "digital filing service." I would point out that it's called Evernote, not Everstore, but the ability to add attachments to notes has created a very active segment of the Evernote clientele who use it mainly to store files, as DTLow describes. I do do some file storage with Evernote, but for me it's primarily for taking notes on research and writing projects, and on household needs.

  17. Yes i would like to echo my frustration about this issue and I don’t see much practicality in the work arounds. EN this is a major useability issue.

  18. I use a few "dashboard" notes for work. One for all active work that is at the top of my shortcut list and then one for each major project. These are just bulleted lists of links either to other Evernotes or database links to some applications that we use, or files. The fanciest I get is adding a horizontal line to separate out areas on the note. No perty pictures, weather reports, inspirational sayings or even tables for me but having a collection of frequently accessed links, notes and files is VERY helpful to me. A huge time saver.

  19. Wow, you folks just opened my eyes to how I might solve the problem with which I have been struggling for years. I use Evernote A LOT, and I have been wishing there was a way for it to be the first thing I open each day and have it guide me through my daily tasks and provide resources for said tasks. I suffer from a brain injury, and my organizational skills, memory, and processing printed material are quite challenged as a result of the damage. I tried setting up reminder alerts, but that got too cumbersome and overwhelmed me. Having a dashboard note seems like an answer to my prayers. Soooo, how the heck do you create one of these and load in dynamic content like photos? I know how to use note links and such. I need some help figuring out just how to do this. Can someone help me? THANKS!!!!

  20. Like most people people, I am juggling multiple aspects of my life; career, advancement, school, family, etc. I have found the Eisenhower method helpful, with a twist. I use it as my dashboard for GTD and add a side of Kanban. That way I can see what is coming up and what has been done. Linking between the notes is the glue to maintain my sanity. Reminder dates allow me track what is due in the future. I consider it a compilation of different methods to meet my demands. Below is the system I follow to keep current. I did not create this system, that was from a podcast I heard from Stacey Harmon at https://www.harmonenterprises.com Let me know what you think. Get Focused Task Management - Active v. Reference: To do lists Either Active v. Waiting for (Reminders) Project Management - Active v. Reference: Projects have a defined beginning to end. Open are active and closed to go reference. Consider Active v. Waiting for Process Management - Active v. Reference: Are an ongoing items that reoccur. Phone call list, bills Consider Active v. Waiting for Reference Management - Active v. Reference: Is there really an Active Reference management system? Either Reference v. Waiting for (i.e. date) Waiting for - Can be a person, place, date/time. So maybe the Who, What, where, when why & how should apply here

  21. We're in this together! Reading these has made me also feel like I'm not crazy and alone lol . Hopefully the EN team can come up with a fix so I can once again authentically call it a productivity app.

  22. I use it in split view with various apps which works until I leave the app and come back, so that’s not really a tenable workaround. There needs to be a way to keep a note up like there has been for years. I have an email launcher in the widget section of iOS that appends to specific notes and quickly bringing up this widget pasting/emailing text and coming back crashes Evernote.

  23. This is been true for sometime and I appreciate you spending time to articulate it. I thought it was just me! It’s not just frustrating for taking notes but I also noticed the same issue when working with reading PDFs. When I switch the app or jump around, it’s like the app has to restart every time And you have to start over where you left off which can be honestly be frustrating when you’re trying to be productive and have a sense of flow.
