Just got this note from Evernote: "After reviewing the information provided further, we were able to determine this was a UI issue rather than a data issue. Our engineers were making updates on the backend which temporarily disabled note history for some users. Our apologies for any alarm and for the disruption to your workflow."

Perhaps this would work? if checkEvernote() then tell application "Evernote" set getSearchString to display dialog "Find" default answer "" set searchString to text returned of getSearchString set getReplaceString to display dialog "Replace" default answer "" set replaceString to text returned of getReplaceString set searchLen to count of searchString set theNotes to selection repeat with theNote in theNotes set noteContent to HTML content of theNote set HTML content of theNote to my replace_text(noteContent, searchString, replaceString) end repeat end tell end if on replace_text(this_text, search_string, replacement_string) set prevTIDs to AppleScript's text item delimiters set AppleScript's text item delimiters to the search_string set the item_list to every text item of this_text set AppleScript's text item delimiters to the replacement_string set this_text to the item_list as string set AppleScript's text item delimiters to prevTIDs return this_text end replace_text on checkEvernote() tell application "System Events" set activeApp to name of first application process whose frontmost is true if "Evernote" is in activeApp then return true else return false end if end tell end checkEvernote

At one point I used the TSW system, similar to GTD. To close tasks I would remove the action tag from the note (!1-Today for example) and add _Completed yyyy.mm.dd to the note via a PhraseExpress hotkey. The notebook and any other tags stayed the same. So a two step process. The reason for the _ in the added text was for searching. A _Comp* search would return all completed tasks. Today I mostly use the reminder function of EN in conjunction with saved searches. When a task is done I mark the reminder as done. Again the notebook and other tags stay the same. A one step process. Adding -reminderdonetime:* to a search keeps completed tasks from the search results, searching for reminderdonetime:* returns all completed tasks. The search remindertime:day -remindertime:day+1 -reminderdonetime:* returns anything due to day. I have saved searches for Late, Yesterday, Tomorrow, Next 7, and more. I still use the _Completed yyyy.mm.dd hotkey a bit. I have a few tags preceded by ! for things not so important but that I wanna-do. Might be viewed as whatever future task bucket one might use in GTD/;TSW, but not quite. So when I complete one of those I add the _Comp... text to the note. A search for tag:!* -_comp* returns all my open wanna-dos. Nothing wrong with GTD/TSW, it just didn't fit me for whatever reason. I guess I'm more date driven than task driven, if that makes any sense. FWIW.

Thanks, That did the trick 😉 Apparently I have tried to us the application a few years ago and the device was still registered. Now I can go ahead and start work with. Thanks both of you! Really appreciate your help. Best regards, Danny

You can always use the Web Client to reach your account and de-Register other devices. The web client is never counted as a device. To enter the Web client, go to Evernote.com and log in with your account credentials. You can quit devices in your account settings. If you want to use 2 devices, you could Always enter on your PC via web client, which does not take one of the allowed devices away from your limit.

I say that Evernote's (android at least) handwriting feature is garbage because its impossible to keep actual notes there, while i.e. you are watching a seminar. I mostly think this is due to low response time of that feature. This may intepreted as lag between writting and displaying; writting fast and seing the ink displayed with lag is confusing. To understand the difference you have to actually use stylus on Evernote's handwriting feature and on other apps. Futhermore features like: *Make use of stulys button to switch temporary to eraser. *Provide more colors (and user defined color) for pencils/pens. *Provide colors for background page * Provide some templates for background for example typical horizontal lines, to write straight on them. *For writting lag when zoom-in (there the application just sucks as the lag increases). *Provide marker pencils (e.g. mark with color words). would make the feature even better. But most important is to reduce lag between writting and displaying. I think its algorithmic matter. Try for example make a small filled dot (e.g. listing dot). I doesn't displayed unless you pull up the stylus or increase the bullets radius. That's unacceptable!!! j

Hey All, Thanks for reaching out! Yes, Skitch should work for Catalina. However, you may need to toggle/change a setting. Please go to Security & Privacy> Screen Recording, and allow Skitch. Let me know if the issue persists after doing this.

Whenever editing a note there is a timeout in iOS evernote where it forces a refresh and loose cursor position and default to initial view as if you have just opened a note. This is especially annoying with longer notes that require scrolling. Scenario: if you want to take notes walking or in a meeting you cant just pull out your phone to write down information. There is almost always a lot of friction to resume content editing. Its ridiculous. Surely there is a way to sync notes to the server without distracting user from the most important task - content creation The timeout occurs when switching apps or after a brief phone sleep. Apparently its a normal behaviour confirmed by support. After syncing and crashing this has to be one of the most annoying features in the product that will eventually force me to switch to apple Notes app, which is excellent and free Evernote really needs to get its product development act together, start listening to customers and stop product fragmentation chaos. I hope the new CEO gets what product development is. There is a lot of competition in the market already!

This not only happens when you switch apps. If you are in a meeting taking notes and you stop for a couple of minutes then when you go to start taking notes again the note refreshes and goes to the top of the note. I have had to stop using Evernote on my iPad for note taking in meetings. This has been an issue for many months and I keep getting told a fix is on its way but there have been several iOS app updates and still it is not fixed.

Evernote as a Progressive Web App would make for a fantastic, fluid experience. As far as I can tell the new Web Beta is an attempt to bring desktop features to the web client, a PWA would help build that UX for users. https://developers.google.com/web/progressive-web-apps/

Hello Evernote community, I love Evernote, but a feature I miss a lot is to show to-do notes in a graphical view. My personal preference is a personal kanban board. As I'm a developer, I made this proof of concept: it's a web app that extracts notes that belong to the "Kanban" notebook and depending on the tag (backlog, this_week, today, done) it distributes the notes across a kanban board.. This is what I have today: Reading notes from my Evernote account Parsing notes to get a brief description, note color, owner and reminder. Do you think it is worth? Would you use it? I'm planning to release a v1.0 with a simple web interface where you can select the notebook, and the columns (tags) to display. Everytime you visit your page the board is redendered from your Evernote account. Best regards JF

I think Evernote is a fantastic product, especially with the iPhone integration. I currently use a program called UltraRecall because of it's heavy use of subfolders. This makes organizing my data very logical. I was wondering if Evernotes has a way to create subnotebooks under existing notebooks to help group numerious notebooks together? Example Notebooks: Work Clients Customer1 Customer2 Customer3 Customer4 Personal Electronics Web Clips
