I love Evernote, but it's preventing me from putting in sensitive content. For example, I can't keep a personal journal notebook, because other people (i.e. girlfriend, family members, etc.) could one day be looking at those notes, especially since they know that I use Evernote often for many purposes. Evernote already has the ability to encrypt single notes. This is useful for things like storing passwords or other temporary sensitive content. But it's not practical to encrypt many notes one by one. I wish I could password-protect a whole notebook. This way, I can do a lot more with Evernote. If I can encrypt single notes, then why can't Evernote just allow me to encrypt entire notebooks? If reason behind this is because Evernote thinks one could lose a lot of data if a notebook password is forgotten, then perhaps Evernote can help recover the passwords through email. In the meantime, I'm stuck with using other apps (i.e. Pages, Day One, etc) to password-protect my content. Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Often, when I'm editing the middle of a Note, the cursor jumps to the top of the Note and starts entering text there, not where I initially placed the cursor and began typing. So, the first letter or two will appear where I began typing in the middle of the Note, then suddeny it continues to type the rest of that word at the very top of the Note. I'm using Chrome.

I feel on the biggest missing features is native support for Markdown. Please add native Markdown to Evernote.

Hey @gazumped I am using well I guess I am using two separate devices. I use my iOS app a lot but the problem is with the desktop. Actually going through it again and thinking about what all the posters here said what I see is that I was mislead by the fact that EN highlights all occurrences of hat within the notes including that what etc but in fact it will only show those individual notes if there is a "hat" in there. So it actually just means I have to comb through it and find the actual hat and disregard the others. I was just being silly I guess thank you very much for your help it is much appreciated

? I use Windows and copy/ pasting tag1,tag2 etc separated by commas will work for me. Paste the text into one tag field and Evernote will split it into individual tags.

Search is one thing where organizing into notebook and/or with tags helps a lot. Using the Advanced search syntax of EN, you can include or exclude notes in certain notebooks or with / without certain tags from the search. See this article for further reference: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208313828-How-to-use-Evernote-s-advanced-search-syntax

Hi. What device, which OS and is this an installed Evernote app or the web client? Evernote search generally doesn't look for characters within words, it looks for words that start with those characters; so I'd expect 'hatred', 'hatbox' and 'hatpin' unless you searched for "hat" (including the quotes and maybe a trailing space) which would limit the hits. I just did a search of my 46k notes and found (apparenty) around 2k notes containing 'hat'. To be fair one note that contains the word 'hate' is highlighted and if I Ctrl+F search the note I also get highlights on 'that' in two places, but that's the individual note search, not the global notebook version.

Hi there, You said "any template," but you linked to a specific page. I would recommend you reach out to the owner of that template, as he or she may have moved the file or changed the permissions and not updated the link you are using.

If you want seamless font management on all platforms, this means a restriction in fonts. When I wanted to have Calibri on my Mac, I had to „steal“ it from my Win-10-PC and install it manually on my Mac. It gets worse on the mobile platforms. So we probably can have an editor that makes things look the same on all platforms. But it will probably mean restrictions depending on what „other“ abilities the different platforms have that can not be unified. Or with other words: Maybe they have to crack some eggs to make an homogeneous omelette.

I agree with all the requests here. Many of us keep sensitive information on Evernote and having support for a Physical Security Key is essential in this day and age. This is a critical feature and will eventually lead me to move to a competitive product if one emerges which support this.

Ugh, so you have to scroll to see a key identifier/how and where the note fits into my taxonomy. Having those at the top of the note make it easy to run your eyes over them in no time/at any time as a matter of course. Putting them at the bottom means a deliberate effort to scroll down to check that the tags I have are the ones I want. From a basic QA and user-friendly perspective, they should be at the top.

Markdown is a markup language, extremely simple, used globally by almost cloud platforms actually and, as developer, I can say it is a simple feature to be implemented, maybe the biggest difficult is to make it compatible with current Evernote markup, so a possible solution would be adding an option "File > New > Markdown note" isolating this markup. I can afirm that many people do not use evernote and end up opting for an alternative (like Inkdrop) that offers fewer features because don't live without a markdown. I'm using evernote premium for some years, but currently I just have my old notes stored with Evernote, because I'm using just a markdown software and putting my files in cloud. Very annoying. It's regrettable that users don't have voice here. For now I do not intend to renew my license after expiration (2020 January) because I realized that this request is old and never satisfied. Many users asking for, so my request also will not be considered, just one more. Anyway I hope I'm wrong, in this case you will continue to have a loyal customer to keep recommending Evernote. I have a good networking today. Attached a competitor (Inkdrop) screenshot that is picking-up your customers, like me when my license expires. Let's keep Evernote as leader. Certainly moderation will not approve my message, but it would be smart to understand the problem and pass it to the responsible team for analysis. I'm here because I like Evernote, but currently it can't be useful for my use. I have thousands of developers in my networking and if we have Markdown support many of devs community will use it.
