  1. In addition to simply the fat finger problem 😂, I think it's important to recognize/point out that Evernote needs to work for people with common mental/physical limitations (like essential tremor)...that spacing allows for greater accuracy for these individuals with limited dexterity. As the family member of someone who suffers with tremors, I am conscious of making sure that links and buttons on mobile are well-spaced. So, for WCAG 2.0 mobile accessibility compliance and to appeal to users (like @JMichaelTX) perhaps an option such as several Google products provides of preferred (default, com

  2. Wondering if Evernote ever actually implements any user general feature requests? Looking at the list, it looks like one of the most popular feature requests has been there for over 11 years!!! The top 5 look like they have been requested almost weekly for the last 7 years!!! That's pretty mind-blowing and depressing to see them ignore items requested over and over again for over a decade. Why even ask? Seems one of the best ways to improve your product in the markeplace is to implement features the users are requesting, especially for 11 years. What type of message does the company

  3. Unfortunately, it's an architectural problem due to constraints in the underlying infrastructure, not a simple matter of adding a setting. One of the things we are working on this year is reworking a significant part of the infrastructure to give us more reliability, more scalability and - what matters in this case - more flexibility. Once we have that flexibility, we will start to explore what to do with it. -- ian

  4. I'm also a fan of accessing the Evernote database to retrieve metadata I use DB Browser and SQL commands on my Mac; sample below set sqlText to "SELECT ZLOCALUUID FROM ZenNote where ZGUID = '" & noteUID & "';" set localFolder to text items of (do shell script "sqlite3 " & quote & databaseFile & quote & " " & quote & sqlText & quote)

  5. I use applescript on a Mac and am able to make mass changes to note-titles It's very flexible but you must be able to define change rules Here's an example, replacing _ with / in selected notes if text 1 thru 8 of newTitle = "2018_03_" then set newTitle to "2018/03/" & (text 9 thru -1 of newTitle) end if Here's more information on using applescript in Evernote

  6. Evernote recently introduced their Gmail Add-on, I use it all the time, but would love to be able to set reminders from the add on. This way I could remind myself to respond/reply/take action to the email later.

  7. I finally found the cause for this. It was the "First Party Isolation" Addon from FF which seems to be buggy: switching it off didn't do the trick but it must be deactivated/uninstalled! Thanks for your help!!!

  8. Hi again. I posted this on Reddit's EN sub as well, and a kind soul sent me the link to the next version of EN for Windows, available from EN instead of from the Windows store. And it works like a charm, so the new version (6.20.2.8626) has solved my problem. Phew! I wonder why Microsoft doesn't have this latest version in the Windows store. Odd.

  10. I used to do this, and love Google, my main laptop is a Chromebook. However, all of my school papers need to be in APA format, and the formatting doesn't convert right from Google Docs to Microsoft Docs. I write it up in EN, copy and paste to Word online, apply the formatting. then save the final doc as an attachment to EN.

  12. So the answer is no then. That's really too bad. What a waste of everybody's time. It paints them like the small business that empties the suggestion box into the trash whenever it gets full to make room for more suggestions.

  13. Thanks for the feedback. I suspect a part of the vertical spacing on mobile is driven by a desire for each item in the list to be easily selectable, and the reality that some people (like me) have relatively - um - broader fingers than others. (Otherwise known as the "fat finger problem".) . That being said, completely understand the underlying impact on information density and will make sure that the point gets raised and considered. Re the grey, I'm assuming you are reacting to what you saw in the video, not to an actual build or similar screen you saw somewhere. I say this because t

  14. @Ian Small, thank's for another great video. In general, I love the direction you are headed in with respect to tags. However, I do have one UI request: Please don't waste so much vertical space on the listing of tags. This would apply to all devices, but especially to mobile devices. It is far, far more important to those of us who have lots of tags (> 1,000) to see as many tags on the screen at one time as possible, and still be readable and touchable. Also, please greatly improve the contrast of the text. The light shade of grey used for the Tag Names make it very hard to

  15. The big thing for me is the ability to search and filter by multiple tags at once. For example search for: New York #Policy #Tax #Employment. Being able to start typing a tag, and have autofill suggest tags as I type, tap on a tag to select and type the next tag. It would make it super fast and easy to quickly type and select multiple tags.

  16. This sounds like a great step in the right direction for iOS and I am greatful for the focus put on improving the tag experience. I am however a bit concerned for Android. As already mentioned above, you do get a hierarchy on Android when browsing the tags. One of the good things with how the hierarchy has been implemented today is that when you navigate to the child tags of a parent tag, all the screen estate is given to browsing the child tags. My concern with the implementation in the video is that it is unclear whether you can scroll horizontally in the hamburger menu/left panel, or w

  17. EVERNOTE DEVS - ADD A DARK MODE AND MAKE EVERNOTE BEAUTIFUL AGAIN! I loved Evernote, but its UI now looks very dated and looks ANTIQUE on Windows 10... Every other App I use now is "beautiful" in Windows 10... And in dark mode (Office, my DAW, Chrome, you name it...) I give up, I'm switching to Microsoft OneNote with a beautiful Dark Mode:

  18. I don't understand why some people in this thread appear fixated on Win32 v. UWP and seem to be missing the obvious clue that Dark mode has already been partially implemented... It already exists in some fashion in *PRESENTATION MODE* for a note (click the Moon icon). And from my tests, it works pretty darn well which is to be expected considering it's probably doing some really basic CSS styling since notes are already HTML-based anyway. And heck, if they're concerned that some notes won't show up correctly in some globally applied Dark Mode, then they could just take a hint from the Fir

  19. But we are paying for Evernote, thus Evernote can pay to have the dark theme implemented. What's the big deal? I thought we are paying to keep the product in development and have new features offered to us.

  20. It is funny that we have been requesting Dark Mode in this thread for 5 to 6 years, and they finally made it, and they closed the thread. Leaving us Windows users to start a new thread for the same request. Do we have to wait for another 5 years or what?

  21. There is a strong demand for a dark mode. The software I use today is dark mode. Only Evernote is not used. It is very painful to use.

  22. BRILLIANT! I have been driving myself crazy with this, thinking that I was doing something wrong or differently with the settings. Thank GOD you posted this!!! I was really about one step away from throwing the S1500M scanner in the trash and springing for the latest and greatest ScanSnap iX1500. But now with the new software, I'm back in business!! My multipage scans are actually coming through in the order intended! Why would Fujitsu not make this software update AUTOMATIC from the AutoOnlineUpdater? We (or you) should NOT have had to find this obscure FAQ website to find out what to do

  23. I have recently had Office 2016 pushed to my laptop, and I'm also in the "I don't want the Evernote add-in" camp. I have unchecked the COM add-in and closed / rebooted / opened Outlook again. There it is, slowing things down because it's disabled but not GONE. (I will also say that there is another phantom add-in I cannot get rid of for good, so Evernote has company.) If there is a DLL I can delete to make this problem go away forever, can someone please tell me what it is? Thanks.

  25. I tried installing the V6.3L70 with my S1500 as I was also having issues with pages being out of order using V3.2L91 (which is what is shows to use for the the S1500). Not only did this version fix the out of order issue it increased the scanning speed and making PDF files searchable. Thanks chawkinson.
