I have been an EN user since Beta, and became a Premium user as soon as it was offered. I do not understand why EN is lagging with simple security options, such as easy encryption of notes and notebooks. This really should be as easy as a Right-Click or selection in properties for a Note or Notebook. The existing method of selecting text in a note and then using a Right-Click option to encrypt it is cumbersome at best. Yes, it is a nice feature if one wants to encrypt only a portion of a note. That's fine. But there should be an easy way to (1) encrypt an entire note without selecting text and (2) encrypt an entire notebook. I would be willing to pay a few bucks extra a year for this additional encryption ability. Seems this should be a no-brainier for EN, both as a tech matter and as a business/profit matter.

@dmitry_bond, I can confirm the problem. I copied your link into a test note in my Windows Evernote program. In the Web version of Evernote, when that test note synced, although it displayed the correct link, the underlying URL had the ASCII codes %3F for ? and %3D for =. Clicking the link resulted in a 404 error. It did the same thing when I created a dummy link https://www.fooply.net/htm?query=equal: it produced https://www.fooply.net/htm%3Fquery%3Dequal in the Web version. I'm not 100% sure that Evernote is doing this rather than Windows or the browser. But obviously it is a problem.

I tried with Tools > Options > General and unchecked the enable hardware acceleration checkbox and it worked. Thanks.

Yes, me too. Well I already a premium user (with my working account) and the only reason I use 2 account is I don't want other to see my secure note accidentally when I presenting them with my other notes. It's even ok if it's not encrypted at all, but just need a passcode to open the notebook.

I need the Evernote team to start thinking about adding a note or notebook encryption. This thread is going on since 2014 and still not getting any results from Evernote side.

Currently, folder sort view is managed by a global setting that affects all notebooks. So if you sort one notebook by alpha, then all notebooks are sorted by alpha. I propose making this global setting a checkbox in preferences. The default is this setting is "checked," meaning one global rule for sorting all notebooks (the way things are now). But if you "uncheck" the box, then each folder could have its own sorting parameter. For example, you might sort an inbox folder by date, but you'd sort a folder of favorite recipes by alpha. What happens when you uncheck the box in preferences? All folders would have a default initial sort parameter equal to the one that existed immediately before the unchecking of the box. That is, if you're on the global setting and sorting by alpha, then if you uncheck the box, all folders would have an initial parameter of alpha sort. But then you could subsequently change this in each folder by choosing a new sort parameter (which would then obviously be remembered on a folder specific basis).

I gave up on the automatic numbering and found that when I put a number and period in front of a paragraph, Evernote reads it as a numbered list. So I put a bullet list after a numbered list item. I spaced down and typed the next number in, and Evernote picked it up as a numbered list item and used the number I had typed. I still had to indent the bullet lists, which Evernote changed to a lower-level bullets, but I'm not that picky. I'm using Evernote 6.6.4.5512 on Windows 7.

I use Evernote daily on my Windows PC, on my iPhone, and iPad. It would be great if the encryption feature would be available on the iOS devices. Being able to encrypt notes or portion of notes while on the go is essential. Hopefully Evernote will listen to its users. I have already begun looking for other options but really don't want to change if Evernote meets my needs.

I would upgrade to premium for this feature. I have sensitive information that I consolidate into a notebook, but I won't use Evernote over mobile or from my work computer because I can't encrypt that data. Heck, I'm even a little paranoid keeping my home computer unlocked when I have visitors. -chris
