The database is an Sqlite database. Every time you type anything, that data has to be recorded in the database. Putting the database on a low speed interface is (as they say) a "very bad idea". Also, the drive it's on must support file locking - so network drives are also a "very bad idea".

My impression is that you insist on being on the right track with treating an SD-card as a replacement for a HD - or even a SSD. Because I will not convince you of anything else, do what I did right now: - Go to the Microsoft specs for the Surface Pro 6, stating it has a MicroSDXC-slot - Then go to Wikipedia, searching for MicroSDXC, and read the specs Hint: Even the highest class of today’s SD-cards run the same max speed as my 5 years old 2.5“-HDD WD-my-passport on USB 3.0. And then there is an issue how these high-speed cards have to be initialized before they take up speed. No way to get close to a decent internal HDD, not even thinking about a SSD. But as I say: Because you insist, get the information yourself. And next time buy more disk space ...

Device: Asus Google Nexus 7 (2013) / Samsung Galaxy S7 Android Version: 6.0.1 Evernote for Android Version: 8.4 / 8.4.1 Browsers: Chrome 69.0.3497.100 / Brave 1.0.59 I'm having a problem now clipping/sharing web pages from Chrome and Brave (Chromium based) browsers. Very early on, the Evernote Web Clipper for Android used to clip a URL or the page. In later versions, used with Chrome on Android, I couldn't get page content, but it would clip the URL and then a screenshot. Sometimes, I wanted this, sometimes not. Recently, even prior to these latest configurations I'm running, noted above, page Shares from Chrome or Brave browsers stopped including screenshots. Instead, I started getting the URL (only sometimes) along with a weird attachment with an unusable 6-character randomized extension. It turns out that this attachment was actually an image file, but it gets clipped/shared with a random 6 character extension instead of .jpg or .png (I think it was originally .jpg, but I can't remember for certain) Firefox on Android still clips the URL at the least; no screenshot (not sure it ever did) Clip Article with Text is hit or miss, depending on the page and content. Most of the time, it never completes. Ideally, I'd prefer to see some options for Android Clipping/Sharing so I know exactly what I'm getting: URL (ideal) Screenshot (would be nice if we could make it fast, and choose the resolution; I don't need full screen/HD resolution. I just resize it down to 400px - 600px wide later if I even keep it) Article with Text (that works. Right now this is hit or miss for me, and usually only seems to work in Firefox; never works in Chrome based browsers. Never completes, just shows Clipping in the note when I view it on a computer) I'm fine with just the URL most of the time, since I usually do all of my production work and real Evernoting on a computer. In fact, I prefer this URL-only option, because it should be much faster to clip. The screenshots are handy sometimes as a reminder of what I've clipped for obscure sites, but man, it takes a long time to clip, save, upload, download, and whatever path to resolution that it before I can get it saved and it lets me back out to browsing. Here's an example of the issue I'm having now in Chrome and Chrome-based browsers, like Brave, on Android. This note was created from a Share to Evernote on the Nexus tablet. Same thing happens with the Galaxy S7. You may notice in this example that there is no URL in the note. That seems to be a new issue. The image attachment thing's been happening for several weeks for me. The URL is available through the Note Info option in the Evernote client on a computer, but that's an additional step. Just seems like something's off, and I'm not sure what or where. Anyone else seeing this? ====================================================================== AS SEEN WHEN CLIPPED IN ANDROID No URL, no Screenshot Note weird extension on the attachment AS SEEN IN EVERNOTE CLIENT FOR MAC RENAMING THE ATTACHMENT TO AN IMAGE FORMAT AS A TEST Right-click the attachment, choose Rename AGAIN, SEE THE RANDOMIZED FILE EXTENSION HERE? THIS IS UNIQUE TO THE IMAGE. OBVIOUSLY NOT A USABLE EXTENSION MANUALLY CHANGING THE EXTENSION TO .PNG OR .JPG CONFIRM THE CHANGE NOTE THAT THE ATTACHMENT ICON CHANGES; ATTACHMENT IS NOW USABLE AS AN IMAGE; CAN QUICK-VIEW, OR OPEN AND EDIT The image attachment is now viewable, but is still not shown as an embedded image like it usually is on shared pages/URLs from Android Browsers. Unable to set option to view as attachment or inline as is possible with PDF files. This is relatively useless and would be more efficient if there were an option to not clip an image at all if it won't present as an inline image. Again, as noted above, if this is to be the behavior, it would be great to be able to turn it off altogether, or be able to reduce the resolution of the clip before it uploads, which should save time. This takes too long, even when it used to work. Most of the time, all I'm trying to do is save the URL anyway, since the clipper in Android doesn't work as well as it does on a computer for saving articles or pages. I know there are other ways to do this, but the Share option from the Android browser was convenient.

Thanks for the reply. I also discovered that if I download the app, one can have both business and personal accounts open at the same time. That can be done by a menu item under "File."

Hello iOS dev team, I found another app for a reference: Netflix, please check this out.

I am not a huge fan of the great amount of light grey text. It is hard to read for people who are not 20-year-old programmers using a huge screen. I get that it is useful for unavailable menu items, but text should be black for available menu items which is not the case for e.g. the Insert drop down menu. Also, notes snippet would be better readable with darker text with not only the heading in black.

As far as I know. Urban Dictionary.

Agreed! Because now it is randomly highlighting the search term, but never in the first note in the search results. Ugh.

Hi Dave, thanks for your response. All devices were on the same network, and I did check the web client and it worked there too, so the mystery remains. In the meantime, all working now so not end of world, but I do get paranoid, especially since data has indeed been corrupted in the past.

It would be awesome to have a stack in a stack. This was the main reason I've migrated briefly to Microsoft Onenote, but it also has limitations that bother me, like only insert excel file embedded, not as a shortcut, making difficult to work in spreadsheets that have multiple charts. I hope evernote developers include this feature soon.

@macfixer - Are you talking about the feature that created a new meeting note when based on your Google Calendar events? If so, that's a fantastic feature and if that's what you're talking about I'll gladly upvote this suggestion.

@macfixer Thanks for sharing! This is great feedback, but pertains more so to the Web Client as opposed to the Editor experience. I'm going to move this thread to a more accurate location, but feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any other questions!

Pretty annoying really. I'd really like Evernote to solve this issue. As just a link isn't always helpful for memory like mine and just a image or screenshot does it all. Also, clipping a whole article/page does normally work well either if the page has loads of comments at the bottom. Makes the whole process slow and pointless.

REQUEST – It would be amazing to have a feature where an image can be selected, and when you right-click (ie, the same way you rotate it, etc.) there could also be an option to override the "largest smallest-dimension" algorithm and set that image as the note's thumbnail. A little background –– One thing I use EN for very heavily is as an artist database for my job. I really like having both a photo of the artist and an example of their artwork at the top of their card. However, when I'm scrolling through snippet or card view, it would be really helpful to have the image of their artwork always be the one to show up. This usually happens but there are a few times where the photo of the artist is used instead. I've read up on the algorithm that chooses the image with the "largest smallest-dimension" (PS, see what I did there with the hyphen? Way clearer that way.) and I am actually OCD enough to try to amend the file sizes to have the algorithm pick the right one. However, even this doesn't seem to work – it's probably me because I guess an algorithm can't lie, but even when I resize the images, it's still not choosing the right one. So my question is – why would that be happening? Could it be that once EN's algorithm chooses an image, it always chooses that filename even when the size changes? But what would be SO MUCH EASIER is my *request* – could there be an override option to the largest smallest-dimension algorithm (which I agree does work at least half of the time for me) to choose a thumbnail? I'm not talking some fancy thing in the settings where you tell EN how to pick your thumbnails – that sounds like way more work than it's worth. I just imagine, like I've said above, having the image you want to be the thumbnail highlighted/selected, then right click (in the same way that you can rotate an image, etc.) and have something like "set as note thumbnail." Please?? Thank you!
