Below is a screenshot of what I see on Play, with a perhaps crucial area highlighted. "Varies with device" explains everything, but also nothing.

Hi , I think it is would be cool and useful if the Table in evernote could do some basic Calculation like excel , no need so complex like what excel do , but some calculation between cell. This can Help a lot when someone want to sum the value of ingredient for example or many things that need some basic calculation . Well , that is what tables usually used for , isn't it . It would be much help rather than manually calculate the value one by one in the table . Hope you would reconsider this Idea , Thank you .

Using Evernote on a Mac with dark mode enabled looks good, but it's practically impossible to find the cursor which is a very thin, vertical blue line on a dark grey background. Help us 50+ folks out and make it easier to see please!

Code block editing is getting better in 7.10, but still has annoying bugs. 1. Positioning the cursor at the origin of a codeblock and hitting the DEL key (forward delete) causes the entire first line to "jump" or pop out of the codeblock. The annoying workaround is to remember to position the cursor at the 2nd character and then use BACKSPACE instead. This bug has been there for at least a few years. Not sure if it's been reported but since someone finally seems to be doing work on codeblock I figure now's as good a time as any to try to bring this to light. 2. Extra linefeeds are added to blocks of text containing blank lines when they are converted to codeblocks. Here's an animated demo of both bugs: (edit: filed bugreport #2815737)

Just in case, I opened an official bugreport (#2815722) related to these issues.

4 Spotlight bugs: 1. Spotlight only finds results when the EN app is RUNNING. E.g. if I search for "spotlighttest" while EN is not running, I see this: Then, launch EN and repeat, and now it shows up: 2. Note title metadata in Spotlight is not updating- (see above screenshot)- original title (which had a space in it) is still shown in the Spotlight preview, but the note has long since been updated...days ago. 3. EvernoteQuickLook keeps prompting for access to Keychain, despite me authenticating and clicking "Always Allow". This happens EVERY time EN is quit, re-launched and a Spotlight search is run. I've even tried clicking the "Allow all applications to access this item" but EN doesn't like that either and seems to just delete the token and create a new one, setting it back to its original value of "Confirm before allowing access". 4. Just to keep everything in one place, the bug I mentioned earlier: only TITLES seem to be indexed by the EN Spotlight Importer. Note contents are just indexed as "plaintext" files and show up as content.enml, content-pre-sync.enml, and snippet.txt which are unusable (can't be opened, and don't reveal to which note they relate):

I'm still trying to get my head around 8.9.3 Beta assuring me that it is the 'latest version' when 8.9 has already been released in March (or April) and presumably should have incorporated any bug fixes from feedback received... The Android team seem to have their own interpretation of correctly formatted version numbers. Android beta releases were (for some arcane reason) conducted in Google+, and following Google's shut down, now (should?) have a new home in the Forums. Hopefully we'll see a little more discipline here, but I wouldn't count on it...

Not true for all platforms. Windows works as one would expect based upon ENs rules, IMO. Any special characters other than underscore are treated as blanks in EN searches. IOS does not, which is based upon server searches. In Windows if you have www.xxx in a note, www.xxx or "www xxx" will find that note specifically plus any others with www.xxx in them (search magically becomes "www xxx"). OTOH, www or www xxx searches will find the note plus any other notes that contain www and xxx in whatever form. Maybe the Mac is different.

When I first read this and implemented (i.e. stole) it, it changed the way I use Evernote. Really like Android's widget displaying that (dynamic) saved search = my todo list. Thanks for the input!

You have gotten this right, except for our desktop (Win10) and the NAS (Synology) we have switched all the family Gadgets to Apples. Makes digital life much easier, with iCloud integration between devices etc. With Shortcuts i‘ve toyed around a bit, but nothing serious so far. Maybe I should give it another try. Among other features what I like in Things is that it shows the calendar view together with the tasks. I prefer it this way. My professional calendar is open for others to book time there (under certain rules), so I do not want to have my task planing open for others to view. If I need quality time to get some things done, I block a space in my calendar based on when I want or should work on this. This will show the time blocked, but not what I intend to do then. And yes, the next mayor purchase will be a MacBook Pro ....

What's the best way to report bugs in this version? Post here or submit bugreports via the feedback form? I want to make sure I'm not farting into the wind and I'm finding lots of little bugs already (par for the course)

Well, this is new I think- I don't remember seeing results like that in Spotlight w/ 7.9 The bug is annoying because it does find things, but then you can't open them or see which note they are attached to. As I said before, I assume and hope that this is just a bug.

Actually I don't think 7.10 uses "enspot" files anymore. On the 2 systems I've installed 7.10 beta on, I deleted them completely and rebuilt both the Full Text and Spotlight metadata indexes, and spotlight search is PARTIALLY working with no trace of any .enspot files on my disk anywhere. When I say PARTIALLY working, I mean, that note content is not searchable via Spotlight, but TITLES are. I assume this is a bug? I agree, it would be nice if Alfred could see these - not sure how to make that happen either. Alfred problem? Seems like this article references a ~/Library/CoreData/com.evernote.Evernote folder, which no longer exists... Update: Ok it seems like what used to be the "CoreData" folder is now called CoreNote and lives at ~/Library/Group Containers/Q79WDW8YH9.com.evernote.Evernote/CoreNote/ Below that, in /accounts/www.evernote.com/<account-id>/content, you will find a folder with a {guid} for each note in your database. Opening those up, there are "content.enml" "quickLook.png" and "snippet.txt" as well as other file attachments etc. The problem is, when I search in Spotlight, what shows up is the "content.enml" file with the preview showing RAW ENML instead of the snippet that it used to show. I’ve invested heavily into Evernote and Penultimate. And I’m about ready to move it all off to something else, because of the lack of updating Penultimate and the non-communication of what the roadmap is for it and Evernote. We received an announcement awhile back about a new logo and a “Renewed sense of purpose”. Evernote folks, if you are listening, it’s time to act with more than a new logo and a promise. Penultimate is now acting up with latest iOS update and is virtually unusable to me. Are you going to update it? Are you going to add pencil support to Evernote? What is the plan? Regards, Dan T.

Well, I've come very close a few times in the past. The last time was about a year ago when I took a serious look at Nimbus. Close but no cigar. Prior to my renewal date in a couple of weeks, I will be downgrading to a free account. I've waited for premium to offer some value and it's just not there. Of my 12,000 notes, only 4 are over 25 mb and I hit about 2% of my monthly upload limit. The two device limit will be a slight aggravation, but as many have posted, there are a couple of workarounds. Meanwhile, after looking a couple of times and leaving in confusion, I am working on going all in with Notion. The more I look the better it gets. It's cheaper than EN and does so much more. The design and database aspects are amazing. Currently, the only two stumbling blocks for me are no true inbox and you can't email into it. I have devised short term work-arounds, but unlike EN, they are rolling out improvements constantly, and I expect those to be complete soon. I won't be leaving EN for a while - it will take me weeks, if not months to get Notion setup, but with its import capabilities, I could dump all my EN notes into it in one evening and have everything there in the same structure. It's been a great 10 years, but it's time to move on.

Greetings. I normally use evernote on my android phone. It would be really useful to be able to insert the current date and timestamp by touching a button. It would be a good feature to be able to select default format in evernote settings, and just insert date and/or time stamp by demand (hopefully not both at the same time, one button for each). This feature should also be included in a new note using the widget (this interface for a new note is really poor, I use it to type a fast note but I usually need to write the current date or time stamp). I hope you include this feature. Regards.

Hi, at this moment there are not other apps like Evernote. Bear is very closed to Evernote, but not for windows. Also apple note, but without tags and export possibilty. There are years since I try to go away from Evernote becouse I think is too arogance with costumers. Evernote don't hear the voice of costumers!!! Evernote is the best example of how a costumers service don't must be . Evernote don't care about his costumers. I'm still waiting for Evernote alternative: Trello, notion, simply notes ecc. are not Evernote's alternative. Good apps , but there have not the Evernote features: tags, crossplatform, insert image, documents, files, record voice, good search engine. I don't like the last Evernote's joke: Better Evernote!!!! This is the arrogance of evernote. Nobody ask for restiling apps icon or colors, but For Evernote staff this is a priority. All the bugs, issues of Evernote app are not a priority. The apps icon design is the priority. Thank you evernote's staff! Sorry for my bad english.

For me the issues are the constant bugs. Windows editor bugs with cursors jumping around, Windows inconsistent behaviour especially with check-boxes, bullet lists and indenting (and combining these, OMG!), Windows drag and drop of files in and out of EN works one version and is broken the next, also often places files not where dropped, the sync issues, The Windows app freezing for seconds at a time, and sometimes just closes itself The android app display reminders in the list when there aren't any Android app notifications come up if you change the reminder time in another app before the notification time was due Android app widget shows ALL future reminders rather than just the same as the app settings (it used to mimic and worked fine) Work chat is useless. Tagging of shared notes doesn't work (ie I can't tag notes in a notebook that is shared with me) Saved searches is missing some key functions like AND and OR's (you're forced into one or the other) Bugs in saved searches, sometimes it displays things you don't expect, hit the same search again and it is correct Still can't have more than one layer of stacking notebooks or stacks No native google calendar integration (Cronofy works ok, but does shift my reminders by minutes at times for no reason) Doesn't have the editing and tagging functions within a note like OneNote (which would be very welcome) Rick click menu in tables is different to in normal editor (ie no access to right click, attach files in there) Google integration is hit and miss, sometimes it displays rich links, other times just shows error I'm sure there is more I can't think of right now... Sure there are probably three times this list in features that are awesome with Evernote! I've used it for almost 10 years!! But it has deteriorated so much in recent times. At a time when other products have improved to the point they can take it's crown.
