Just like Excel's paintbrush where font size, bold, italic, spacing above/below, colour, indent are copied by marking the source text and then marking the destination text.

I would advise removing Evernote completely, and starting fresh. This means deleting the app, database, other components. The app AppCleaner is recommended for this. Reinstall the Evernote app, login, and the database will be rebuilt from the server. (Warning, the rebuild does not include unsync'd notes or Local Notebooks)

all of you having issues please file a support request / bug report. This forum MAY help, but doesn‘t fix software bugs 🙂 EN has to be aware of that, so send them bug reports, just do it. Now! 🙂

I find that I cannot use Evernote Web Clipper to save reader comments powered by Disqus. Here are two sample sites demonstrating this problem: http://news.sciencemag.org/health/2014/03/scientists-fix-errors-controversial-paper-about-saturated-fats http://www.npr.org/blogs/thesalt/2014/03/28/295332576/why-we-got-fatter-during-the-fat-free-food-boom There is just a blank area where the reader comments would be. Clearly does the same thing. Selecting All in the Evernote Web Clipper and clipping the selection does not work either. This problem is discussed for Zotero, a program similar to Evernote: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/27314/good-way-to-save-comments-from-website-articles/ So far, the only way I can save these reader comments, which sometimes have more valuable information than the original articles, is by printing the whole article (including the expanded notes section) to a PDF file and saving that on my computer, then attaching it to a new Evernote note. If anyone else has encountered this problem, or has another, more efficient solution, I would like to hear from you. I'm guessing you are trying to log into your account using a web browser. Are you logging in and not seeing any notes? If this is it, double check to make sure you are logging in with the correct credentials. It is easy to create a new second account accidentally that won't show any of your notes from your original account. If that is not the problem, then as Dave mentions, if you do want help then we need more information. If you just came to rant, then, mission accomplished.

I posted to this forum because I ran this search and virtually all the hits relevant to the Android beta were found in "Evernote for Android" I will happily defer to @jefito and the others re where this post should be moved to. Also, re @Ralph77's concern that it might be difficult to get the downloaded G+ content back online: it is actually very easy. Google delivers the content in a zip file that unzips to directories and static html files that are web-ready. EN would just need to create an appropriate vdir on their Web server. Alternately, it could be unzipped to a folder on EN's G drive, then share that folder read-only via a link that G Drive generates. Then publish the link someplace. I don't think we need the content to be update-able. I suppose they could even just post the zip file as an attachment to a discussion topic.

Please add the icons back OR add the ability to customize the icons that appear in the Note header/toolbar like previous versions. With Windows, the buttons are there, but now on a Mac they are gone. I cannot remember all the Apple Shortcuts!!

Yes, sorry - got a bit carried away with the language there. This was Evernote white-acreening and maxing out disk activity as shown in Task Manager. I can't use Evernote at all during those periods - sometimes typing gets retained, mostly it doesn't. The search continues...

I just ran into the same issue. I can see them on screen when I'm not signed in, but the minute I signed in I get the same error that you are seeing. You can get to them from within Evernote itself though by creating a new note and then clicking on the template function. They all aren't in there via this method but a few are. I have also added the link to see if my sharing one from my notebook will allow you to download it to your system. [Template] Character Profile UPDATE: Just in case you were able to save the template from the link I shared, here are ones for the other templates you are trying to use. (I'm a fellow writer so I know that when you find something that works you want it right away. I recreated the templates for you) [Template] Novel Plotting: Snowflake Method Checklist [Template] Story Timeline Tracker [Template] Novel Chapter Outline [Template] Character Master List [Template] Character Biography [Template] Story Planning: Worldbuilding Basics

Can we revisit Evernote's rather unfriendly practice of auto-renewing annual memberships without any notice? I get that you need to make money and that quietly billing people is a great way to make money from people who aren't paying attention. On the other hand, users who love and use your product will happily continue to pay. Being a good corporate citizen would be as easy as emailing an annual auto-renew email 30 days before the renew date. While Evernote's billing practices are neither illegal or deceptive, they are a little sneaky. Thanks

Member Level Criteria: Updated (Jan 29, 1019) Our community’s member levels are determined by commenting activity—when you reach a certain level, you are automatically placed into a new group with a new member title. (To see the badges associated with each level, go here) Guest - New User/Not logged in Level 1 - 0-9 posts; Must have first post approved by Admin Level 2 - 10-99 posts Level 3 -100+ posts Level 4 - 300+ posts; 50+ Reputation Points; Admin Approval Level 5 - 500+; 75+ Reputation Points; Admin Approval Member Level Access/Perks: Guest (New User/0 Posts) - User has not, or is not, signed in and may only be browsing. They cannot create or reply to posts, use any forum features, and they will only have ‘view’ access. Once a user signs in or registers with an account and posts, they will be automatically upgraded to Level 1 status. Level 1 (0-9 posts)- Once a user signs in, their first attempted post must be verified by an Admin. Once their first post is approved, they will be able to post content that will be immediately viewable to the forum community. Additionally, Level 1 cannot post more than 5 times in one day, start more than 5 conversations/PM's in a day, cannot message more than 1 recipient in a conversation/PM at one time, and are limited to 5 reactions per day. On their 10th successful post, they will be automatically upgraded to Level 2 status. Level 2 (10-99 posts) - Have all permissions available to Level 1. Additionally, they do not have content post, conversation, messaging, or reaction limits. On their 100th successful post, they will be automatically upgraded to Level 3 status. Level 3 (100+ posts) - Have all permissions available to Level 2. Additionally, Level 3 users can use profile signatures. After achieving 300 posts, and a reputation score of 50 points, they will be upgraded to Level 4 after admin approval. Level 4 (300+ posts; 50+ Reputation Points; Admin Approval) - Have all permissions available to Level 3. Additionally, Level 4 users can report content for direct review by Evernote Staff. Level 5 (500+ posts; 75+ Reputation Points; Admin Approval)- Have all permissions and moderator powers available to Level 4. Additionally, their posts and replies will be highlighted. Reporting and Moderation: Reporting Posts (Available to Level 4/5) - Reporting posts flags content and places it in a review queue. At that time, the person who is flagging the content can add a note about why they are flagging the content. Once in that queue, a member of the Evernote Staff will review the content and any notes, and determine what needs to be done. Update: Due to a technical limitation, these rules will not retroactively affect your account to upgrade your member level. If your member level is not accurate and needs to be adjusted, please reach out to Shane D. directly. Thank you!

Since the great power of Evernote is that it's traveling with you from one hardware device to the other, I would like to have the custom dictionaries also traveling with me from one device (office to Home for example) to device. Currently the custom dictionary is a text-file called Custom Dictionary.txt which exists in the \localstorage folder. It would be very nice if the custom-dictionaries could be synced with the databases in order to work with the same custom dictionary on all my devices.

Hi, Can you pls implement the new feature that was introduced to Mojave release of OS X, request your phone to take a picture to insert into your notes. (Continuity Camera) So I don't need to first take a picture with my phone, sync Evernote from my Mac to my phone and then insert the photo in Evernote and sync it back to my Mac. Thanks, Jay

Updates are updates I understand but why remove functionality that increases the end users efficiency? Reminder, Print, Delete were functions that I used multiple times a day on the header bar and now they require multiple clicks to get to. Please add the icons back OR add the ability to customize the icons that appear in the Note header/toolbar like previous versions.

Hi! I am a scientist and I use Evernote on an everyday basis for tracking the multiple projects I have in the lab (love it!). I know many others in my field who do the same. One feature that I'd like to see and would be extremely beneficial to the scientific community is to be able to easily insert symbols to notes. Specifically, greek letters and some commonly used math symbols (at a minimum the plus/minus sign). Evernote developers, please add a symbols icon to the note UI. (I know we can copy/paste symbols as needed, but it would be so much more convenient and efficient to drop in symbols as needed directly from within the app). If anyone knows of a trick or "hack" to easily add this to feature to my notes, please let me know. Thanks! Elizabeth

To compete and go to the next level Evernote should really consider anchor point/inline tags, and collapsible text. MarginNote does text tagging great with keywords as seen in photo and other apps are implementing it as well: https://blog.readwise.io/tag-your-highlights-while-you-read/

Following up on this: I found that adding the element <content-class>jeff.test</content-class> to an .enex file after the <source>...</source> element, that this made the note read-only. So if you edit the exported .enex file in a text editor, just remove the <content-class>...</content-class>, save, and reimport it. You should be able to edit after that.

I expect that that's related to this: https://dev.evernote.com/doc/articles/read_only_notes.php. If that's the case, then the only way that I can think of that might accomplish this is to export the note to Evernote format, and clearing (or maybe deleting) the contentClass item. I don't have such a note to try this out on, so I can't tinker with it just now.

Hi, I've been using evernote for more than 5 years. It's great experiences and helped me to remember everything. Since I'm seeing a lot of non-essential features coming along these year. I always felt that there is one important feature that is missing to me while I'm using Evernote. What I need is: a way to add a internal "reference link" when I'm editing a note of some sort which direct me from one note to another note but NOT to the web URL (which is already exist). So that I can quickly find related notes and maybe using a forward backward button to jump back and forth to navigate through my related notes works like a web browser but within Evernote itself. Call this a "Evernote Link", it would help users like me a lot to relate and reference notes from different notebooks. And please keep good work, leave Evernote clean and easy to use, without cluttering with unnecessary new features, widgets that will make thing complex is slow please.

Thanks for sharing. It is a workaround, but, iMO, not a very good one. Won't work for me. It's just like opening up a new web page You can't the the surrounding context of the previous/next section Navigation is cumbersome Anchors are basic, long-standing HTML behavior. There's really no excuse for Evernote not to implement.

This is a very, very, long-standing HTML feature, and oh so very useful for long notes. Two features I see essential for long (more than one page/screen) notes: Anchors/bookmarks Collapsible sections Both have been available in web pages since the early days of the web (late 1990's). ATTN: Evernote/ @Jackolicious, @SoftwareMarcus, @Justin Street: Come on, this is the very definition of productivity!

Add me to the "not a fan of auto-renew without reminders" list. I signed up for Evernote Premium to give it a try, hardly use it more than storing Skitch screenshots I take for work, and forgot it was an auto-renewing annual membership. Sure, it's my own fault for forgetting it was going to auto-renew. I've known businesses that purposefully do not send reminders with full knowledge that people will forget to cancel. They are those same who explicitly state 'No refunds', as does Evernote. So here I am, with an overdraft fee and Evernote costing me over $70 for another year of a service I hardly use.... I have downgraded my subscription so it does not happen again. So instead of Evernote sending me a reminder I'm about to renew, and possibly having me keep my Premium subscription, they'll not get another penny from me. This is not about blaming Evernote, this is about suggesting they become more friendly and caring for their customers, and as such potentially keep more customers around.
