I would like to change the default name for Penultimate notes. I would like naming to set format of date and time differently: not mm/dd/yyyy 12:00 AM/PM rather: yyyy/mm/dd 24:00 This is so they autosort, and so I don’t have to rename every single note. I take multiple notes in a day and would like them to sort by date. Another solution could be a way to more easily change note names, it is cumbersome from the Penultimate app on iPad. Customizable naming so the user can choose format would be a delighter.

After upgrading from 6.4 to 6.6, all my notes now have wide margins on both sides. I cannot find any setting to adjust this. Top and bottom margins are ok. This issue is related to viewing notes..NOT printing.

Hi! Thanks for adding dark theme. It’s grade function, especially at night. Do you have plans about to add dark keyboard to dark theme? thanks.

Hello, I'm a heavy Evernote user and a Premium subscriber. I'm also a Linux user in some of the computers I use, and I was surprised to see that newest updates on the web version are not compatible to Firefox (the newest Firefox!). I'm forced to use Chrome/Safari or use an older version if I insist on Firefox. I find it extremely disappointing to Firefox users and a nod to Linux users that a desktop solution for Linux - something that we are waiting for years - is being totally dismissed. I really hope is something temporary and I would like to hear if other users or Evernote employees can offer other - and more hopeful - information on this topic. Thanks in advance.

I use Ctrl+Q instead of Alt+F2. That works in single window note view as well

I'm sure that I frequently save notes with attachments without seeing any odd behaviour, but since you ask I carried out the test. I created a note, added an attachment and then saved the content - the phone is still sitting next to my laptop with the note on view and I haven't seen anything other than 'saved to your default notebook'. Back arrow (just) takes me to All Notes. No flicks back and forth into Edit.

Thanks for reporting this issue. We're currently aware of it and will be looking to resolve as soon as possible. This beta post highlights this issue as well as some other pressing ones we're aiming to fix by version 7.7. Thanks,

I would also like to request increased pen support on Windows for my Surface Pro. I don't use the pen that much though so it's not a deal killer I guess but it would be nice.

I just subscribed to EN and it appears I am unable to use any pen on my notes, much less the surface pen. I don't even have a pen symbol in my notes and am not able to get any drawing done. Am I missing something?

It would be nice to be able to link to a tag, notebook, stack, and/or saved search within a note. I know you can make TOC notes on search results, but if new notes matching the search used are added, they are not automatically included in the TOC note. I think It would be nice to have a note that can guide me to related notebooks, topics, saved searches, or tags if I choose to do so. I would just expect the link to take me to the list view I linked to.

Another vote - the 'written' isn't helpful - it just has to be deleted all the time. You could just remove that to start with.

Me too! In general I want to have a simple shortcut in Evernote as well, by which I can fill in the date as the start of a TITLE of my note. The format should be YYYYMMDD. This way notes can be easily sorted afterwards. Now I do this manually (I did this already thousands of time!). Evernote is always very slow in picking up these kind of simple request that greatly enhance efficiency.

I use -tag: a lot and -notebook: would be awesome. I was wondering the same thing too, it just feels natural in line with all the other searches. There must be a good technical reason for it. But hopefully, -notebook: search option will be coming soon.

I would like to suggest a new feature for Evernote. I currently use Evernote for my study notes and research. I also use it as a personal decision making journal. I also use it for various work projects. As I generate a lot of content, I find myself going back and re-reading my previous notes. Like we can do with digital books, I would really value a 'highlighting' feature where as we read through our notes, we are able to highlight sections from it into one (or a journal of notes) note. This way, I am able to parse out the insights from a large piece of content and organize them into notes to use in my work deliverables or study projects. An example of this feature is on Kindle though it is a bit clunky - still very useful in distilling the highlights from a book and then organizing them by theme and generating new content with that. The highlighted bits will have links at the end to take you back to the source note - it would be useful to hide these links when working on the aggregated highlights note itself. Perhaps every Evernote comes with a 'Highlights' journal which has a default note that aggregates all the highlights by default and also user-created notes where users can point the highlight into.

This are the missing features that make me seriously consider passing to Bear or other nite taking apps. It’s like you’re NOT using your own app. Do you want to remove the automatic titles? Ok, then when I create a new note put my cursor on the title so I can enter it, not on the note. Otherwise if I don’t want to have a useless “Note” title I have to manually select the title and edit it, which is cumbersome. otherwise, use the first line or the first few words of the note as a title, which for me is good. And this is by the way just what other note taking apps (read Bear) do. it’s so natural and obvious that I keep asking myself how could you not already modify the Evernote app. At least to add a setting to let everyone set the app as he prefer, which would be the minimum. I keep waiting for better times.

Yes, exclude notebooks by using "-notebook:" search would be great. I wonder why "-tag:" is possible, while "-notebook:" isn't.

One small problem with Evernote's OCR: it doesn't produce a stream of words from beginning to end; instead, it produces a set of potential matches for areas in the image, and stores them in the note. There can be multiple guesses for a particular sequence of letters, or possibly guesses for overlapping sequences of letters. So there's really no attempt to make a coherent stream of words out of the text in your image. It's really just a sequence of the guesses, and the pixel locations where the guess came from (the pixel locations are how they can do the highlighting). Other than that, that would be a nice feature to have...

Requesting the option to flag notes as read only My workaround is to convert the note to pdf edited; There’s also a contentClass field that I can update using a script on my Mac

+1 for anchoring links within the same note. This would be HUGELY, HUGELY helpful. I'm amazed at this point this obvious feature does not exist. Why waste time and resources on complex secondary features like "work chat" when the basics like this and selective local sync on computers are not covered?

What constantly surprises me about Evernote is that, although it is essentially a digital filing cabinet, they encourage users to use it for other things as well. But they don't adapt it sufficiently to make anything else than a digital filing cabinet. When I started using EN I became very enthusiastic about it & was constantly looking at ways to extend its functionality. Example: ne of my new passions is journalling, which I started doing in Evernote but because of its poor text editor I now use another app. So, 1 1/2 years after having embraced Evernote, I have come to the conclusion described in the 1st paragraph & only use it as a (semi)permanent store of my documents & records. Having said that, it is very good for that & things like the Web Clipper & Clearly are the best around. Even OneNote's web clipper is nothing more than a screenshot taker, therefore pathetic compared to Evernote's web clipper.
