Fujitsu, the manufacturer of the ScanSnap Evernote Edition Scanner is working on making the scanner's software and hardware drivers fully compatible and 64 bit. More information about 64-bit updates from Fujitsu can be found here: http://www.fujitsu.com/global/support/products/computing/peripheral/scanners/scansnap/faq/macos10134.html For this scanner's general compatibility and wi-fi compatibility with macOS 10.14 Mojave, please see the article on Fujitsu's website here: http://www.fujitsu.com/global/support/products/computing/peripheral/scanners/scansnap/faq/ssee-mojave.html Peripheral updates to any hardware device from 3rd parties like Fujitsu after Apple updates their operating system can take some time past the initial OS release. This is outside of Evernote's control as the drivers are developed by Fujitsu. It is recommended to keep an eye on the device manufacturer's compatibility page to wait until they confirm full compatibility with that OS before updating, to hopefully not encounter an OS update causing issues with your hardware in the future. For the installation issues it sounds like you're encountering, please first check your Applications folder on your Mac to ensure the ScanSnap Manager Evernote Edition software is not already installed. We've heard some similar reports of this. Past this, please ensure Evernote is also installed first before installing the ScanSnap Manager Evernote Edition software. I've followed up in your support ticket to further troubleshoot.

Delete the notebook from the web. That should avoid any local client side syncing that would cause a problem due to size.

I feel on the biggest missing features is native support for Markdown. Please add native Markdown to Evernote.

I basically use a sigle notebook, and generate note lists with tags and other searches. This title prefixing works well for me.

Thanks for the report. The print preview is now expected to show in the default PDF viewer. To access the page select option, select File > Print. Currently, margins set from the page setup option are not applied to the printed page. We're aware of that issue and working on a fix.

It not just closing the issue , it's also redirecting me ones to another post when I asked about windows.they are completely unaware and ignorant about windows,I guess they have too much money to spare for buying overpriced macs only I guess. Blaming windows flexibility is not a good idea , iOS has not reached anywhere close to windows flexibility, So there is no catch up to do. Evernote codes itself shows it's been coded to white background for windows, there is work around hack available for the same which is litterally to change the hex code. It's just.that more poorer who can't afford Macs overpricing tend to use windows,And we are in the blind spot. Evernote thinks that ignoring windows is a calculated risk to otherwise putting feature ( workload ). Well may be they are wrong. I already moved my stuff's to Zoho notebooks, works well and they are putting out a Windows version too, at least they hear customers. By end of this year I'll be moving out completely , thank you Evernote , it was nice having you and making life easier.

Implement Dark Theme, Please!! Do you need me to change the colors in the web CSS style sheet? Feel free to mail me if you need the hex triplets!

Really sucks to be 2nd class citizens, no? The way Evernote closed the 5-year old thread even though Windows users are still waiting (you wouldn't close the thread if dark mode was only released on iOS, no?) and how ambiguous the help article regarding Dark Mode on Windows is (not even a promise that it's coming or that they're working on it, it just says "got better things to do") implies Evernote thinks their work is done here. We're probably gonna get it too but we can probably expect in the same 5 year time frame I guess. We're just not that much of a priority. Mac people though, ah, they gotta get those Bear and Omnifocus users. Windows users aren't going anywhere anyway, no?

I thought I was imagining things but after it happened multiple times, I am now sure Evernote is losing my note modifications. I clearly remember I updated a note last night with some important information and today, that information disappeared from the note!!! This is really bad as I do not trust Evernote will keep the integrity of my notes anymore. I do not know what the pattern is or how to reproduce this as it seems not all modifications are lost, just some seemingly random modifications disappeared. I switch between MacOS and Windows and both versions are the latest. Also, I make sure it is syncing by manually clicking on the sync button every time I'm done editing. Evernote MacOS: Version 7.6 (457297 Direct) Editor: 59.0.7031 (d523909) Evernote Windows: 6.16.4.8094

It would be very helpful to be able to choose a thumbnail image for a note, as I have tried many many methods and there seems to be no rhyme nor reason as to which image is used. Some of the image choices by Evernote, is of no use whatsoever in finding a particular note quickly. A simple right click on an image with an option in the drop down menu, to, 'set image as thumbnail', would be terrific! Thanks.

EDIT: FIXED WITH WORK-AROUND. In the interest of cutting to the chase and helping any google-searchers to find the solution many of us are using, I'm posting that work-around here at the top of the thread. To see my original problem and post, read below. The problem of regular freeze-ups while typing, inserting, or modifying notes via the windows client (which seems to present to users with very large databases) is somehow related to the client using the network in the background. The solution is to create a windows firewall rule blocking evernote.exe while you are using evernote (typing, dropping in graphics, moving notes, whatever). This completely eliminated the freezing for me. Then when you are finished creating or modifying content, you can disable the firewall rule and let the client sync. My workaround lets me just click a shortcut to block evernote (and allow me to use the client without freeze ups), and then allow me to unblock it instantly when done, and will even automatically unblock it after a set time (in case I forget). Still hoping Evernote decides to fix this properly someday. Here are the detailed instructions on how I got my Windows client working again: http://www.evernote.com/l/ALrsBe2IrjdFfbGIOZYVpxRJAOUnjFZD2f4/ Hope it helps. Cheers. ---------- ORIGINAL POST: Hello everyone. Looking for some suggestions to speed up my windows client. I'm wondering if anyone is experiencing the same issues I am, and if the community (or support) have any workarounds. Essentially, here's the situation: My windows clients on all machines have become so slow they are virtually impossible to use. Regular tasks like typing multiple sentences, changing notebooks on a note, adding tags to a note, or even scrolling through a list of notes has stops constantly at somewhat random intervals. The gui freezes (and shows not responding) for sometimes 4 to 5 seconds at a time. And this will typically happen every two or three sentences or so, whether the client is currently syncing or not. Before we start, know that the slow speed is universal through all of my windows computers (multiple decent speed desktops 1 to 2 years, surface book i7, surface pro, etc.) and has been the same across all of the last 5+ versions of the windows client. All of my computers have SSDs (with the database, OS, and Windows client installed on the SSD) and reasonable performance. The problem I suspect the problem is linked to the enormous size of my database. Since I run my business with 68+ employees and 6k+ customers off the system, my database is around 65K notes taking up around 40GB. I realize that I am approaching the 100k note limit quickly (perhaps by the end of this year I'll need to remove some anyway), but I'm wondering if there might be a work around to not have to cut down the database and still have the clients workable. The slowness appears to be entirely related to CPU usage. Monitoring my resources, the SSDs have no trouble keeping up under nearly all circumstances. The CPU however is pegged every few seconds while the gui is being used. (Or rather, since the client seems to be single-threaded, one core is pegged.) The application seems not be multi-threaded in any meaningful fashion, and I can only assume that some background table queries are taking place regularly based upon what I am typing. I could certainly understand if searches were slow with a database my size, or even tagging (since the tag table must be loaded in memory each time a tag is typed, to search for a matching tag name). But there seems to be no reason to have this sort of CPU stall out with things as simple as typing or scrolling through notes. And when it stalls my GUI completely stops responding for 1 to 5 seconds. I have disabled all syncing (in case instant sync or background sync or similar was the problem), and this has not helped. I realize that evernote maintains some kind of word token table for searching. Perhaps this word token table is being searched at regular intervals based up words typed, in order to provide the [completely unused by me] context function? Or perhaps the text I am typing right now is being tokenized at intervals (this should be extremely fast) and then inserted appropriately into the token table at the same intervals (which would probably be where the freezing occurs). Even now as I type this very message in a new note in the windows client my cursor routinely freezes and cues up my keystrokes, only to insert them some seconds later. I have very little experience in database driven applications (and am doing a lot of guessing here), but it seems like a simple decoupling of the interface from the background table queries, token insertion, and the like via multi-threading would easily solve this problem. I realize that is likely low on the priority list of things to accomplish for Evernote, so what I'm really looking for here is a work-around. The first and most obvious solution would be for me to remove a large number of notes (and perhaps place them in a second evernote account). This I am prepared to do, but it's not exactly Plan A. This would be a pretty comfortable solution if we were able to have two accounts on Android devices which we could switch between. I'd be happy to pay the money for a second premium account. Then I would simply keep most of my older notes in the second (slower) account, and could access them easily (if more slowly) by switching accounts on either my windows clients (already possible) or my android devices (not possible as far as I can discover). As there doesn't seem to be the ability to switch accounts on an android device (without deleting my 40GB account and re-downloading the other each time) this solution would mean I wouldn't have access to the older notes when I was away from my windows pcs. Does anyone have any suggestions of other work-arounds? Can anyone think of any guesses as to what the background lookups/etc. causing the high CPU usage actually are, and how I might disable that functionality to be able to use the client again? Can I disable context lookup, just in case that helps? I assume if the holdup is the insertion of tokens into the main search table at regular intervals, that is core functionality that I won't be able to disable from the GUI. I thought I would see what you all think before I spend hours and hours developing a plan on what data to make inaccessible on my mobile devices. Thanks in advance for your help, and Happy New Year!

Why have Evernote Team never had Windows on their Board? First step was Dark Left Panel? There is the next step? I am a premium user more than 5 years. And it hasn't been any good improvement all this time!

This needs to happen for Windows users. Great that Dark Theme is out for Android, iOS, OSX, but still missing for Windows. Evernote is the ONLY app in my workflow that doesn't support dark mode in Windows. A lot of the "duplicate threads" also requesting this seem to now be deleted. Please make this happen.

@RobertJSawyer Evernote is a cash cow for the company. They're just riding on the previous momentum. They know that we'll use it regardless and keep paying them money. Even with the latest version of Evernote, the formatting in my notes get messed up from time to time. The company keeps giving BS reasons for their shortcomings. I've thousands of notes, but now I've decided to shift everything to apps like Standard Notes or OneNote. With rising competition, Evernote won't be able to keep up.

I was working in a browser version of Evernote, editing a note, and then I discover another note content completely disappeared!!! How do I get back all the important information? No history is available to me, as I don't have a premium account. Please, solve this issue. The program also syncs notes incorrectly. Just copies them and saves two versions with different edits. This is really annoying and makes me lose all the data.

I agree drag and drop would work well. Also, a quick search bar. Scrolling is my least favorite.

Hello, I'm basically looking for the same functionality. Meanwhile I switched to a MS surface book laptop and love the pen handwriting capabilities of this device and would like to see that integrated and used within the Evernote app. There is some basic functionality in the android version of Evernote but it needs to be editable, in the android version after handwriting this becomes a picture.

I think it's obvious, at this point, that Evernote users want the ability to select the default thumbnail for notes. I agree that it seems ridiculous that this conversation started in 2013 and 4 years later this hasn't been added to the application. As a visual person, the thumbnail helps me quickly find what I'm looking for. For example, when I'm looking for a recipe for pancakes, an image of the video (pertaining to the recipe) of two cooks doesn't help me find what I'm looking for. I need to be able to select the pic of the stack of pancakes. The whole purpose for using Evernote is to be able to organize things so that they are easily found/accessed. I'm confused why this isn't already an option. This seems so simple to implement. Can we get some love on this issue?!
