Just like Excel's paintbrush where font size, bold, italic, spacing above/below, colour, indent are copied by marking the source text and then marking the destination text.

Evernote Wizards. Please, give us a dark theme. My eyes are bleeding with how bright your default theme is. (both web & desktop) No suprise, it is mostly white. A great choice for clean design, but ultimately a fail for intensive use. Please, give us a dark theme. Best Regards, Your Paying Customer

My guess would be nothing wrong. Try a different browser. I haven't been on the web version in a while but I think Chrome didn't play nice, blank lists of notes from time to time.

Side List, or Ctrl+F8, is supposed to have left panel (full or ribbon), notel list and note contents, left to right. Doesn't work for you? If not, try a File - Exit and restart.

Nice, I suppose I should slow down and read the captions; and as former OneNote user accustomed to it asking where after the capture. Actually Evernote more streamlined when wanting a new note, and comparable when you want it somewhere else now that I now what Shift and Cntl do. Thanks.

Thanks I reproduced this with some existing notes. I filed a bug with our text editor engineers for a fix. As a workaround, simplify formatting seems to fix the issue, but be careful with it as it can strip other formatting that you may not want.

Not really true that Evernote screen capture (not the web clipper) can only capture to an Evernote note.. The Evernote screen capture for Windows can capture direct to Evernote, to the clipboard, or to a file on your desktop; note the instructions when you activate it: Click and drag to clip a portion of the screen. Click in a window to clip it. Press Ctrl or Shift to modify destination. By default, the clip goes into a new note in Evernote. If you hold down the Ctrl key while dragging a rectangle, or clicking in a window, the clip goes to the clipboard. If you hold down the Shift key while dragging a rectangle or clicking in a window, then the clip is written to a file on your desktop.

Fair enough, it's just that I migrated from OneNote, but hung on to it in a sense just because of enhanced screen capture capabilities. It's also nice that you can route to specific section/note. I believe in Evernote, it's always to a new note. Anyway the Snipping tool built into Win 10 satisfies the need. It's just going from Evernote would be nice to simply copy/paste rather than screenshot a screenshot.

You and @DTLow make a good point about not being locked into any one editing environment. I agree with you and didn't mean to suggest one ought to be locked in. Rather, when I type out a note, I don't want to have to exit the system by cutting and pasting into another tool, just to do simple formatting. For me, it's a pet peeve, that break in workflow. Another good point. After writing my original comments above, I read some comparative reviews of Evernote (vs OneNote, vs Bear, etc.) and discovered one of the central critiques of Evernote, aside from the rising price of its service, is the feature bloat. Some perceive Evernote tending toward MS Word in the limit of time. While I disagree with this — Evernote to me seems relatively simple, yet powerful and feature-rich — it did sensitize me to the development issues you mention here, namely "the 1001 other requests that Evernote has for...." and the attendant need for practicality and coherence. So point well made.

I am not suggesting Evernote does it without coordinating with draw.io. If you look at their (Draw.io) business model then you can see that Evernote could work with them to enable this feature. Let's see what Evernote dev thinks of it. I find it useful getting my drawings into evernote and seems like a miss to have to put PNGs/PDFs/XML in manually and keep updating everything whenever the images change. Thanks for the note, appreciated.

Thanks @EdH. We're taking and deeply appreciating your feedback around the new overflow menu design, but I want to be be transparent and set the right expectation that for now this is the current design. We will continue to iterate over it to make reaching these options easier (in 7.6 beta 3 we added a keyboard shortcut to "Add notes to shortcuts"), but there's no plan to reverse the overflow menu back to the old design for now.

Sorry @gazumped, a data point. The one thing I did with Brave Dev when I installed clipper was to enable all cookies in settings, the clipper panel wasn't displaying and that fixed it. No issues other than that, clipper works as one would expect, though quicker. YMMV.

Thanks for pointing this out. We should have this fixed within the next couple releases.

Have to say, most comments on these releases are negative by nature. Thought I'd go opposite. I am finding this release very good! The changes to the top of side list view are very nice. Everything is running nice and smoothly for me, thanks for the improvements.

Don't know if this will fix it for you, Go into the System Preferences -> Dock and check the "Prefer tabs when opening documents:" preference. If it says "Always", change it to something else. "In Full Screen Only" is a good option. I have mine set to "Always" and it does what you're describing, so there's a good chance that yours is set that way as well.

I'm a happy Evernote user, but I miss a feature many people have asked for and will greatly appreciate - support for LaTeX formulas. If may sound complicated, but integration should be actually extremely simple. Here's how it could work: 1) Similarly to URL-to-hyperlink conversion, a LaTeX formula could be automatically generated by converting text surrounded by specific characters ($ in LaTeX). For example, I can type "Today we will discuss how equations of the form $ax^2 + bx + c = 0$ can be solved" 2) Finally, the formula text can be converted to an image. Luckily, there are many online services that given the LaTeX source produce a PNG image (even with transparency and custom color by some services). So the only thing the Evernote team needs to implement is to provide the option to automatically and manyally convert a piece of text to an image by querying some well-established online service. So adding LaTeX math support boild down to implementing a simple UI feature! Now it sounds simple, but this could be a selling point to a huge amount of people (especially in academia). I'm not aware of any good note taking tool that has seamless formula integration and synchronization. Even in the current Evernote state the functionality can be emulated by dragging LaTeX formula images to Evernote. However, this is tedious and does not facilitate modifications. Therefore, it would be good after the image has been acquired, the source text to be saved along for future modifications. What do you think, Evernote staff? P.S. I just saw on your blog that you're supporting the use of Evernote in schools, etc. This makes the suggested feature even more prominent.

We have Evernote for business. How about an addition for Family? I would dearly like to share notes etc with my family. And would happy pay for a family plan where we could share the upload limits between us. But it needs to be cheaper than the business plan... That too much for a family to pay out. Maybe have family plan starting at 4 members but being able to add extended family members or increasing monthly bandwidth for uploads..

@Leo Gong It's been more than 9 months since the arrival of Spaces for Evernote Business. Therefore, two questions: 1) When will Spaces be added for Evernote Personal? I believe I'm not alone in saying that a specific timeframe for Spaces in Evernote Personal would be greatly appreciated. 2) When will Spaces support nesting (putting spaces in other spaces, so that there is a folder-like structure)? Thank you in advance for your response to the questions above.

Hi everyone, I lead Evernote's security team. I wanted to make you aware of a recent update to Evernote for Windows versions 6.4–6.7. All Evernote apps connect with our service over HTTPS, which ensures that the data you send between your devices and our service is encrypted. We recently discovered a security vulnerability in older versions of Evernote for Windows that caused affected clients to use HTTP when contacting certain portions of the Evernote Service. This means that if you used one of the vulnerable versions of our Windows client, our software was occasionally sending your authentication token across the Internet using HTTP without first encrypting it. To be clear, your note content, usernames, and passwords were, and continue to be, securely encrypted in transit. Your password is still safe, and you don’t need to change it. To protect customers, we have blocked access from older versions of Evernote for Windows and have done the same for a small number of third party applications. We have also revoked the authentication session tokens for anyone currently running a vulnerable version of our app. If you had previously blocked upgrades beyond version 6.7, we are providing a hotfix that you can download here: https://cdn1.evernote.com/win6/public/Evernote_6.7.6.7584.exe We strongly encourage all customers to update to the latest version of Evernote for Windows. As an additional precaution, you should log out and back in to refresh your authentication token. We have already notified customers that were affected by this directly via email.

Hi Shane. I'm not a fan of Android's cute names for versions. For the sake of clarity (and what's left of my sanity) can you confirm the version number(s) for KitKat and Lollipop, and the lowest Android version you will then support? Was there such a thing as Android 5? Will the Play store show that Evernote requires v5.x (or whatever) and above?

Evernote has clearly turned all their attention to the Enterprise market. All sorts of new collaboration capabilities, but still no dark theme. What we need is for an employee (or, better yet, a decision maker) at a Fortune 500 company to say they need this feature to meet their employee ergonomic goals...

I always wonder what the point of Feature Request forums are when the developers don't take notice of people's requests. I mean seriously, if a suggestion with 254 Up votes gets rejected/ignored about a simple ability to change the background colour to black and the font colour to white, you may as well close the whole forum down.

I would love to see Grammarly incorporated into Evernote. Evernote is my preferred platform for writing but Grammarly offers the tools I need to write better. Together = ???

Evernote as of late struggles to simply turn out a stable version of the Windows client. Every time they update new features, like tables, some other basic function of text editing breaks. It seems to me that the unicorn has died and we are dealing with the ashes. Innovation has left the building. Evernote is struggling to get basic features like tables and text editing working. While other products support Markdown, dark themes, code block formatting, etc. Evernote struggles to deliver the basics. New products like Paper, Keep, Notion and Index are innovating and catching up. The moment there is feature parity with another solution I'm moving. Even Microsoft has a dark theme for Office now.

+++++++++ There isn't a number for how many upvotes I would give this request on ANY piece of software. The option to change themes shouldn't even be in question. Why isn't it already implemented? There must be some reason that you developers have chosen to ignore 7 years of your customers telling you what they want. I read page 1, and then page 19. Page 1 was from 2013 and somebody said the actual request was 3 year before that. That is 7 years and there is still no option? What is the point of a dark sidebar when the separate note window is still blindingly white? Is it ever going to be implemented? Every single one of my tools is in dark mode. I was going to add Evernote to my list but until there is a proper dark theme I'll have to go elsewhere. P.S. My eyes are bleeding right now

How does this only have 8 votes??? This would be an awesome addition. Is this request duplicated some place that has more votes???
