A recent update moved icons from the header bar. Users want the choice of which icons appear. This is currently a feature on the Windows platform

Line spacing comes handy when I want to see paragraphs clearly without entering extra new lines. It is handy when paste to word or email, so that it will not create extra spaces.

Have you tried checking the option "Scroll left panel item into view" in Tools --> Options --> Navigation ---> Navigation options. I ran a saved search that includes both a notebook and a tag, against the previously collapsed stack, and upon executing the search, Evernote opened relevant stack and tag list with the notebook and tag selected. I do not know if this is what you are looking for, but you might give it a try.

Yes, the Evernote package can be downloaded from the Evernote site (www.evernote.com/download) As per @gazumped, I would be concerned about the change in database location. I think this means the database will be rebuilt from the servers and this excludes local notebooks. >>I have a lot of offline notes, and I am not sure to keep them safe. Local Notebooks? As per the others, backups keep your data safe. All users with Local Notebooks need to backup their data. By definition, this data is not backed up by Evernote.

Totally possible. I haven't switched versions in some time. The backup is definitely the key though, and you can't be too cautious with stuff that might be irreplaceable!

I can't say how widespread this is but it is definitely not a universal problem. I'm having no issues with the web clipper on any browser under MacOS. Chrome, Firefox, Safari all working as expected on three iMacs and a MacBook Pro, all on Mojave. Doesn't mean there isn't a bug or an issue, just suggesting that it might be a lot more localized and limited than you're suggesting. Also, if you mention what you might have done to resolve the issue, there are a lot of experienced posters here who might be able to help you work it out.

Does tag:london -lond work? I just tried something similar using an address tag (tag:1445* -144) and it seems to work. Key was not typing in the all of the tag for the text.

That was the response I got, so on the one hand I'm glad they are apparently aware of it. On the other, I'm unhappy they broke it. I'm not going to disagree with any of the things you said, but man, despite those issues it is STILL hard to find a viable 100% replacement for Evernote. Lots of apps do some things better, but then don't do other things at all (or do them worse). Because I use virtually all of EN's functionality, it's been a real struggle to find a way off of it. I'm using Notion as well. It's pretty awesome so far, especially if one your goals is to make well-formatted pages easily. I've migrated a huge chunk of my EN notes over, and I should be done before m EN subscription expires. I like it much better than OneNote or even Bear, Notion is still a long way from feature parity with EN, unfortunately.

I agree. It is crazy that we are paying more for Evernote and it cannot support typical formatting. Even this forum has better formatting. One Note is free... but I'm not ready to switch.

Workaround, change the recent edit (updated) date of the note to 12/12/2030 or the like if you sort in reverse order. No official way to pin notes. You can do some note placement with reminders but typically a PITA if you have a lot of notes in the mix. EDIT: should you ever modify the note you will need to change the updated date to maintain the "pinning".

Search is why we use Evernote. Evernote only becomes valuable once you have collected enough notes to need searching. The lack of differentiation of upper and lower case, and simple special characters such as @, #, %, &, and * is a serious limitation. Please, please consider correcting this.
