  1. Holy moly, I thought I'd give in and see what the latest version offers. I had an afternoon recording lockups and broken features by hand with pen/paper because... 6.13 EN was practically unusable and inaccessible since it was in lockup state a lot of the time. Last night, when I first found myself locked out, I thought a lot of the alarmed user feedback was a bit aggressive, but it turns out that some of those users have been following along for the past year or so, while I've been living under a rock in relative bliss with 6.5.4. After my experience today with 6.13, I'm becoming a

  3. Two features to greatly improve the note writing and organization experience: Header Styles – Standard header styles, such as Title, Sub-title, Header 1, etc. Medium, Google Docs, and Slack Posts all are great examples of this. You should be able to select these header styles using a click of a button. The current workaround is painful: change font size for the header line, then change font size again to start writing in the smaller font. Note Outline – Once you create headers, these headers can then become a note outline that can easily be navigated. Look to Google Docs for a gre

  4. With Evernote spaces coming out, I was excited to see the new improvements for team and collaboration. We tried using Evernote as a team and business but was limited in functionality and features. We decided to give Evernote Spaces a try. But, soon became disappointed. I compared our experience with Evernote Spaces with other apps mainly Dropbox Paper and Asana. It was my hope to see some new features to keep everything in one place, collaborate and work in team digital setting but this update is severely lacking what is required ina collaboration app in 2018.

  5. I demand for evernote 6.6.4.5512 version access, since the versions above that contains multiple bugs. I lost my valuable notes & Images in the notes. After a lot of research i found out this version is good without any major issues, Now evernote is not allowing to access to these version. Thus making me not to use evernote at all. I'm evernote plus user. i didn't expect such a careless behaviour from evernote team. They should have solved the issues immediately

  6. Yes, agreed, this is good information for anyone affected. That's where I am right now, currently testing out both versions. One machine has the 6.7.6 referenced in the bulletin, and the other I decided to try the latest downloadable installation, 6.13.14. 6.13.14 was so hit or miss. I would not be able to use that in a production environment. 6.7.6, I'm messing with this afternoon on a second machine. I did an in-place update/upgrade the other night, and it seemed mostly okay. After the business with 6.13.14, and going through some troubleshooting basics including a fresh

  7. In the meantime you can try the 6.7.6 version. Not saying things don't need to be fixed for sure, just it seems to be an option that is working for others. Last version prior to the attack of the bugs.

  8. Yes the good old days. I tested EN 6.14.3 for PDF handling. It shows that DnD only works if the PDF is viewed as attachment (in windows right click the PDF and select attachment). I found that in this version in the view mode it is now possible to right click and copy the PDF and past it to outlook or explorer. It starts working, however the nice intuitive DnD as in the good old days is still missing. I keep EN reminding as well as hoping that DnD should be made as intuitive as it was in the good old days.

  9. <sigh> If you don't tell 'em it's broke, how are they supposed to fix it? Evernote isn't exactly a big company, and rants here and in other media don't give them enough background - unless they're easily repeatable on Evernote's own devices - for individual issues to be identified closely enough to fix. If you're gonna say "I'm paying for this product, it's up to you to fix it without troubling me for information or copy log files..." you have to be prepared for a long wait while they try to work out exactly what's bugging you personally. Getting things to work is a tw

  12. Thank you. Even tho I already know this, for those that don't, I appreciate you posting. The more posting we do in the forum, the more they will hopefully notice. Here's my take. I don't think I'm that different from other business owners. I look at all feedback. I search my company, read if people are talking about me. I read my employees notes, customer feedback, and Invision what I can do to fix things. Then we talk about it on Mondays. I walk through problem areas with my team and ensure everyone is on the same page. I got the attention of Evernote CEO the other day on Twitter.

  13. Yup - this is an Austin G special. You'll wind up with an ENEX file per notebook, which you can import into a synced or a Local notebook as you require.

  14. That broken link cost me an upgrade to 6.13....followed by aggravation and disappointment....followed by uninstall....followed by reinstall of 6.7 and redownloading of 14K notes. No complaining though, I am back operational with my 6.7 which works nicely for me. Happy Friday!

  15. Apparently they are taking this very seriously, as they should. I just got a phone call from Evernote to be sure to update. Of course, I am on 6.14.something so I have the update, but they want every customer updating, enough to spend money to have people make phone calls. Well done I say.

  16. Although we don't recommend using (or officially support) older versions, I can confirm that this particular security issue was not present in 4.6 which is why you are not being forced to update.

  17. I delited 6.13. and went with the Hotfix they provided (http://cdn1.evernote.com/win6/public/Evernote_6.7.6.7584.exe). Can say that I am at peace, for now it works the same as 6.7.5.5825 I had before plus it is the fix they provided so I assume it is the first of the save updates. Hope I do not find anything disturbing.

  18. I've been on 6.13 for an hour or two and I am super aggravated. Cursor moves to wherever and sometimes it disappears. I already lost the content of a note which was a screenshot and I have no idea what it is now. I make bullet list, it creates it above where I want it. SHIFT + END acts like CTRL + SHIFT + END. I understand that there will be bugs, but these issues are so easily noticeable. Therefore, my question: is anybody at Evernote using the app? You cannot NOT notice these. Somebody should say, hey let's fix these before we release them, these are pretty significant things that

  19. Hi, I wanted to let you know that our team is working on a solution for this and considers it a top priority issue. In the meantime, there may be a fix you can apply yourself: Some users have reported success after updating Android System WebView (a Google component for Android). You can do this from the Google Play store here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.webview Please let me know if the problem persists after updating WebView.

  20. Same problem as everyone. I wrote to their security person Rich Tener who send the email notification and still no reply. Great. What the hell Evernote? At least give us option to stay with older version that is still working. All new versions are bug ridden with missing not only features but even UI elements. This is terrible.

  21. Ok better yet… code Evernote to use the IOS font size setting. That way the font will be as you have the IOS device set. Solved.

  22. Oh, I thought it was rather large and would like something smaller. I set it to 10 on the local PC version that’s about as small as I can work with then it’s still too large on the IOS version.

  23. Well I have good news: my 4.6 is still working! I've even logged out and back in, and my notes still sync. Maybe I can still get a few good years out of Evernote before I have to move on. In case it can be of use to you and your team, here's the installer for the 4.6.1.7860, the last version before forced margins and extra headers: https://filehippo.com/download_evernote/14084/

  24. Reposting this to answer everyone's questions. Evernote Team blocked Evernote versions older than 6.7.6 due to a security flaw they found. They are refusing to create patches for older versions. I'm pissed because the newer versions beyond 6.5.4 have wide GIANT ASS margins on the sides. My employees use small monitors mounted to the wall, and I have spacing constraints. The margins reserved for tables make no sense. The devs could have made a floating table toolbar instead. Anyways. They state that they are only supporting 6.7.6 and higher due to this security flaw. However, the patch the

  27. Hi all. Sorry, but I can't not comment on this... Does ANYBODY test this software before release???????? Many, many, MANY issue reported here. Lost of focus, disappearing cursor... This was reported for many previous versions. Does anybody testing BASIC features before release???? Or you are simple kidding us?

  28. Thanks @EdHDefinitely not by design. We're still working on a fix for this one. Getting closer, but not quite there. The Syncronization options that trigger this (On Demand Sync and or Purge Sync) will continue to be off by default until this is fixed. When this occurs the original notes can be restored from the trash notebook. Thanks again for the report.

  29. I would love the ability to create custom keyboard shortcuts -- not only for the existing commands, but as a shortcut for "assign a (specific) tag" and "move to a (specific) notebook." For example, Ctrl+Alt+F would move the selected note to my "Filed" notebook -- that kind of thing. On a related note, who decided that the shortcut for assign tag (Ctrl+Alt+T) would have different modifiers from assign notebook (Shift+Alt+M). These activities are part of the same workflow -- the modifiers should be the same. (Imagine if Copy and Paste were Ctrl+C and Shift+Alt+V -- it's

  30. Sometimes when I'm writing notes, I would like to be able to put a comment not in the text of the note, but as an annotation - much as I can make a comment to an uploaded PDF, for instance. Something like a separate text box, or the equivalent of a 'sticky note' that could remain on the side of the text, but linked to the relevant point. Thanks for considering.

  32. Hi everyone, I lead Evernote's security team. I wanted to make you aware of a recent update to Evernote for Windows versions 6.4–6.7. All Evernote apps connect with our service over HTTPS, which ensures that the data you send between your devices and our service is encrypted. We recently discovered a security vulnerability in older versions of Evernote for Windows that caused affected clients to use HTTP when contacting certain portions of the Evernote Service. This means that if you used one of the vulnerable versions of our Windows client, our software was occasionally sending your aut
