Hey @EdH The note list is being reworked to resolve these bugs. I'm on an internal build here and can't reproduce this anymore. To make sure I'm reproducing it correctly, can you DM me a screen recording of the issue being reproduced, along with a log? Thanks, **Update** Issue reproduced and ticket filed with engineering. Thanks for the help @DTLow and @EdH

In version 6.0.6 and Windows 7, this is frequently what I see in the Evernote window title - because Evernote frequently is unresponsive, and thus unusable. This behavior seems to be a more frequent occurrence now than in earlier versions - has anyone else encountered this? Thanks.

Hello. I updated my Evernote app on Windows10, version (306387) Public. And there is a specific behavior in this version. If I open some note, set cursor at the end, press Enter to go to new line or just set cursor on empty line, then copy some text or URL from web page, return to note and press Ctrl+V...text is not inserted. Even if I return to note and set cursor on that position again it is not inserted. So I have click twise and insert text or type text. Before updating I could set cursor in any position in note, switch to other app and return, and cursor would be there- I just typed or copied text in that position. Now cursor focus is lost each time I switched to browser or text editor.

I use Evernote every day, and there's a feature/glitch in the new laptop app design that's killing me. When you're working in a note, the note highlights light gray. But when it syncs to the cloud, it flickers to white and then back to gray. Which it's doing constantly when you type. So when you're actually typing in notes, right next to where you're working, there's essentially a boxing flashing back and forth between colors. It's IMMENSELY distracting. In fact, I've already temporarily switched over the web app because I can't stand it, but I much prefer to use my local app. Can we please get this fixed ASAP?

@dconnet, thanks for this. I want to apologize for the churlish tone of some of my posts here. I guess part of my frustration is that I like to keep programs up to date, and to try out new features. But every update of Evernote for Windows in recent months has caused significant problems, generally without any warning or explanation at all. (See, e.g., these threads: https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/112666-inserting-rule-only-works-once/; https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/112594-all-print-functions-have-failed/; https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/111758-notes-appearing-blank-in-windows-desktop-client/; https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/112660-pdf-disappears-after-update-evernote-for-windows/). I'm afraid I'll never be able to update again without having it break something I need, and I just find that frustrating. I'll try not to speculate any more on why this is happening. I will say, though, that it didn't used to happen. I think the bork-fest began with the version that introduced the new table features, and gave every note unwanted extra margin width. I skipped that upgrade, and have skipped every one since, as the reports here have grown consistently more depressing. I certainly get that forums like this inevitably show only the problems. But again, this level of problems with every update only seems to have started relatively recently; and the level of communication about features and fixes has not improved correspondingly. At any rate, I'll try to pry my foul-spirited curmudgeon hat off my head (it's not the one I'm wearing in my avatar, of course), figure I've made my point (if any), and offer more positive contributions in future.

We didn't know it would. We don't know why it is. It is definitely an open bug in our tracking system.

I have the same issue. Seems like a lot of people complaining about the same on the Chrome Web store as well. Posting/adding to this to see if they'll respond.

Sorry to hear that. I had the same error in 6.10, but intitle and create searches are working fine for me in 6.11b. Win10 Pro, though I don't know what difference that would make.

I use Evernote on a daily basis as a simple presentation tool (I'm a teacher). It's wonderful. I can share notes, there are dozens of useful and functional features like embedded video, web browsing... you know all this. The formatting system is a disgrace though. In 8 years, having created hundreds of notes, I have found it absolutely impossible to create formatting that will reliably correspond to what is in the "presentation" version of the note: image size, font size, line spacing, indentation, and text appearance are wildly inconsistent and turn carefully built notes into a visual nightmare. Basically, presentation mode is broken. BUT I pay 75 bucks a year for this, and presentation mode is literally the reason I use this program. I'm seeing a LOT of customer demand for a functional formatting system; I assume you guys have some good reason why it works the way it does; please explain it to us! Or provide a tutorial for making it work right. Or give an option for turning off whatever conversion system turns the notes into presentations. Anything! Please! I'm getting really cheesed off over here.

fwiw Drag and drop works for me. I just tested, and got a countdown box All notes and files were accounted for. The import of each file is recorded in the activity log; I'm guessing failures would be noted. There was a fix for a flashing error in the latest beta https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/112566-evernote-for-mac-71-beta-2/ A fix for an intermittent issue with Note Snippets flashing while typing

When you have a new release, could you please start a new topic, as has always been done in the past? It is very confusing, and we do NOT get notifications when you just update the OP. IAC, looks like some major bugs still in, or maybe created by, your new Ver 7.0.3 release:

Evernote web clipper has the same effect as copying and pasting. I'll just stick to pasting into the Evernote windows desktop app.

Yikes. I'm not too keen on features that roll out unannounced, or features that are removed without an announcement well in advance, and I am certainly not interested in having Evernote try and suggest which photos I put into Evernote. In fact, I don't want Evernote in my photos at all unless I specifically ask for it to upload something from my camera roll (iOS). It'd be nice to see a bit more dialogue about such features, and hopefully a bit more interest in providing the many, amany features we have requested and have not yet seen implemented. In all my years here, I cannot remember a single instance (someone correct me if I am wrong) of a single user among the more than 200 million folks out there asking for this feature... I'm hoping this doesn't make its way over to iOS thanks to you Android guinea pigs

Hi. If you're using a Fujitsu (as opposed to an Evernote Edition) ScanSnap, the ScanSnap Manager icon on your desktop lets you choose a variety of options for names. I have my scanning set up to scan to a folder on my had drive, and SM invites me to edit the assigned name before the file is saved there. I set the file name to be the title I require for my note, and the two automatically match when the files from the 'scanned' folder are drag-n-dropped into an Import folder and notes are automatically created from the file names. I find it useful to have one note which is an alphabetic list of 'master' note titles that includes (forinstance) all the suppliers I use, and any projects I'm working on. All I have to do is choose the correct title to match the scanned document and amend the saved details with the current date - which I have set up in Phrase Express - or a different date more appropriate to that document. Setting a detailed title for my note requires a few keypresses to date and copy it across. Scanning to folder also allows you to avoid the occasional scanning error and edit where necessary.

Hi. This is a fairly new Evernote feature to 'help' users identify pictures on their mobile device which appear to contain text, and offer to save these into Evernote. AFAIK this is something done locally on the device, and I've had the odd reminder late at night - seems like it runs once during the day to review pictures taken. It's not come back to haunt me recently, and I can't remember whether I found some way to switch it off, or the feature works only on images that are not currently attached to a note - though on a couple of occasions I'm sure I got reminded about a picture saved to my Gallery by Evernote's camera feature. (Save images to Gallery is an option you can switch on and off in Evernote Android > Settings > Camera) The feature has a name*, and I even completed a brief survey from Evernote recently to say whether I found it useful. My reaction was that if I wanted to save a picture to Evernote, I would have saved the image already; I did not want to be reminded about the many images I also take which might have visible but totally irrelevant text. - An exercise which takes a little while to step through the pictures Evernote thinks it found and delete its interest in those pictures, some of which are interesting arrangements of light and shadow that have no visible text that I can see with my old-fashioned eyes. I can't find any trace of more details via a Google search or the help pages, so if anyone has any more information on this I'd be interested too. I don't think anyone has set up a voting page yet to get rd of it, but I would definitely agree: given the other things that we'd really REALLY like to see fixed or added, this little project seems like bad judgement and a total waste of time and resources! *I'm a bad Guru. So unimpressed with the feature that I can't remember what it's called. Apart from pointless.

Hello evernote team I'm an evernote plus user. I take notes with evernote daily. It's very difficult to scroll through a long note & reach the bottom of that note & add more to that note. It would be really nice if you can add an option to reach the end of a note with a single click.

Hmmn. That definitely doesn't look like a temporary glitch. Best advice is to raise this on https://www.evernote.com/SupportLogin.action if you're a subscriber, Twitter - https://twitter.com/evernotehelps if not. - You'll at least (eventually) get an individual response from Evernote. As and when you do, please post it back here for any other Chrome users with this issue. Edit: related post -

+1 I experience problems keeping the cursor where it supposed. Often the cursor is in the end of the note, without me putting it there. Other times, the cursor is no longer there, making me have to klick in the page one more time. It was not a problem before, and occure with one of the updates.

Is this feature (to check / uncheck all checkboxes in a note) still available on the latest Mac version? I can't find it for the life of me.

I would love to see Grammarly incorporated into Evernote. Evernote is my preferred platform for writing but Grammarly offers the tools I need to write better. Together = ???

Dear everybody! (Sorry my poor english.) I need the repeat function also. Not other calendar or either program, Only repeat. I do a reminder, and I need this reminder every month, and will be good, it makes automatic. Thanks.

Having used and still using Palm's software for decades, I rely heavily on the ability to set alarms to repeat for the same dates on a monthly basis. These are quite useful in billings ... that recur same date, month after month. Adding this flexibility to Evernote would prove a major improvement, and is undoubtedly not that difficult given Palm has had that feature for decades! I cannot find a calendar option or app for Evernote Premium that does so? True, you can set an alarm for a note - one time. Palm, still heavily used by millions, with linkage/sync supported by CompanionLink make that software my go to for anything related to scheduling. I have referred your software to others, with several making the same remark when demonstrated. Why not with Evernote?? It would be my primary is so.

Back in 2009, I asked: How frequently should I optimize my database? Seven years later, the response from Evernote Engineer Dave Engberg still resonates with me, especially because I regularly move quantities of notes from my primary Evernote account to my secondary Evernote account. (I want to keep my note count below 30,000 in each account.) New post by engberg on Sun Aug 02, 2009 7:02 pm The "Optimize" function is mostly used to reclaim the "holes" in your database file where deleted data used to sit. So if you add big notes (e.g. big PDF files) and delete them a lot, your file may end up with a lot of holes in it that make it larger and more inefficient. This shouldn't, however, have any greater likelihood of causing corruption. If you're using normal (synchronized) notebooks, then you'll have a full copy of your data on the service in case something happens on your local database. But you may also want to back up the Database directory on your own local computer. This can lead to faster recovery times after a crash, and potentially give you access to something that you yourself deleted, but want to recover later. (When you delete a note and sync to Evernote, we permanently remove the corresponding data from the service to protect your privacy.)

@Austin G, this was one hell of a lengthy process - optimizing the database - I had no idea it would be over an hour of "optimizing" but yet, the application has not stumbled once since... Thank you for the information.

Thanks for the update. Try these steps to help fix this. 1. Open Evernote for Windows 2. Once open click on **Tools** in the menu bar of the application. 3. From there hold down the CTRL key and hover over to **Help** and you will see the Help menu has been expanded. 4. Choose **Fix All Notes** and then go back and choose **Optimize Database**. 5. Restart your computer and then go back into Evernote Let us know if that helps.

Please introduce different colors highlight! In previous versions of the software - before the highlight button was inserted - I was able to highlight in different colors by using Mac's text contextual menu. Now it's impossible... Please introduce this option, its helpfulness is crucial! Thanks, dario

A couple of things to check: 1) It may have been disabled by Chrome if it caused a crash. Goto chrome://extensions in a new tab and see if you can find Web Clipper in the list. 2) If you have many extensions installed the overflowing toolbar buttons will be hidden by Chrome behind a Chevron icon close to the hamburger icon on the address field row. If everything else fails, try re-installing it from www.evernote.com/webclipper
