  1. I also agree with the previous comments. One of the reasons I liked Evernote was it's ability to make reviewing pdfs relatively painless. I did have a brief exploration of OneNote recently, but that is disastrous for handling pdfs. You can add the file, and/or 'print' the file as a png - no ability to scroll through the pages easily. Yes, I have pdf solutions on my desktop that allow me to do everything I need, but the pdf viewer in the Windows version sucks now - but not enough to drive me to trying another note-keeping program (yet!).

  2. Second the comments above. They have taken one of the best features of evernote and made it into a very negative user experience. i use evernote to collect multiple documents and organize them in a specific way with context in between. I have a half dozen ways to 'view' a .pdf via other programs on my computer. I don't need evernote to do this...totally wrecked functionality. This needs to be rolled back asap.

  3. I think Evernote is a fantastic product, especially with the iPhone integration. I currently use a program called UltraRecall because of it's heavy use of subfolders. This makes organizing my data very logical. I was wondering if Evernotes has a way to create subnotebooks under existing notebooks to help group numerious notebooks together? Example Notebooks: Work Clients Customer1 Customer2 Customer3 Customer4 Personal Electronics Web Clips

  4. Dear All, I really would love to see a solution for archiving notes. I've been using for 4 years and now I have some notes that I want to keep in the system, but want to remove from my search. As time goes, my search are getting more difficult to separate valid information and archived information. Like we have Notes, Notebook, Tags, Atlas, Market and Premium button on the Mac version, I dream with an Archive button. Every note I move to this icon will make it not searchable, unless I'm searching inside the Archive View. You could even move a completely Notebook. I have many scenarios where this is valid, some of them here: You finished a graduation course full of notes and you want these notes in a place that you may need but normally it will not be part of your search or have a distract visual in All Notes ViewYou closed a company and want all the notes in a special placeYou may not want to have this Archive notes in your local hard disk, unless you click "Download"You prepare for a vacation and suddenly canceled. You want to have this hide in some place but not displaying all the time. I think it would be a great feature. Thank you, Patrick Santana

  5. Hi, Is there a way to quickly copy format (font in particular) in Evernote 4.x? If not, is this going to be added in the near future? I'd consider this basic functionality. Regards, Nefi M.

  6. Please add an option to disable the display of the Recent Notes list. With the last update, the Recent Notes list moved to the Shortcuts list. We can disable the Shortcuts List; but we lost a separate disable option for Recent Notes

  7. I LOVE evernote... can't live without it... but as I start to use it for more than just scans and clippings.... I have the WORST time with formatting in Evernote... it's absurd... it's the type of stuff I expect in cheapo, immature app... but evernote in pretty much all other ways seems extremely mature... so I don't understand why such simple things dont work well... Example Right now I am making a checklist note... (It's a labor hospital bag checklist)... been working on it for a few months... adding things as we think of it... I have a couple sections... each with a new list of checkboxes... randomly... my note... or parts of it get all messed up... like there will be new lines between checkbox and text, so it goes line with checkbox and no text line with text line with checkbox and no text line with text etc I put the cursor AFTER the check box and hit DELETE (NOT BACKSPACE) and it deletes the check box... OK... that SHOULD work... but it doesn't... whatever... not a huge deal... i'll just try another way... so instead I try putting the cursor at the start of a text line and hit BACKSPACE... it deletes the line break AND the check box... groan... Forget it... I'll just delete all the check boxes and start over... so I delete all the check boxes... I just have a list of items one per line... highlight them all and click the check box button... and I'm back where I started... line with checkbox and no text line with text line with checkbox and no text line with text etc At this point I'm getting pretty annoyed... If this was an isolated incident I would not care... but stuff like this seems to be the norm... I have had SO MUCH TROUBLE with this note over the past few months... I don't know if it has anything to do with editing on my android phone app sometimes or not... but even so, the various apps should be compatible!! Other problems include pasting stuff from other sources and the text being ridiculously large, or other various problems with line breaks from pasted text. Am I the only one? At first I just let it go and figure it's bugs that will get worked out... but I have been using the app for years now and it still sucks at this... and this one note, which I have been working on adding things here and there for months has pushed me over the edge... so curious if others have problems, and if so any way to fix this? And/or are the bug fixes in the works for this stuff?

  8. How can I disable this systematic warning ? "Change access. You are moving a note into "[NotebookName]". People this notebook is shared with will gain access to the note." Since the last version, every time I move a note to a shared notebook, I get this message. Only way to dismiss it is to click on "Move". Since I clip my notes first in my inbox, and then move them to whichever notebook is relevant - and all of my notebooks are shared, I get this warning literally all the time. This is both useless and annoying. It should have been pretty simple and pretty obvious to add a checkbox "don't warn again for this notebook". I'm a plus member with OSX + evernote 7.0.3.

  9. It seems that every time I update to the newest versions of Windows, thinks keep getting worse. I am running this version - 6.9.7.6770 (306770) Public (CE Build ce-1.39.4387) Every time I start up windows, I keep getting the "lets get started" display. I click off of it, but it comes back. Also, used to be able to double-click an expanded PDF to open it, but now I have to right-click and select open. Finally, the last release completely compressed my listing of notebooks and tags on the left with a smaller font (see attached). There is no option to put it back to a more reasonable view. Anyone see the same issues?

  10. Hi, While Evernote is great and I can't live without it, I find that missing these two features negatively impacts my Evernote experience: 1) Ability to multi-select non-consecutive note content by hitting ctrl+select, etc..., as one can do in Word and most other windows apps 2) Some form of format copy, or format painter. Without this, it is painstakingly hard to format notes after a class for better organization. I have gotten over this shortcoming by pasting into word, reformatting there, and pasting back into Evernote, but one should not have to do this.

  11. New computer, Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.16299 Build 16299 EN Version 6.9.7.6770 (306770) Public (CE Build ce-1.39.4387) Synopsis: The cursor will be present in the Note, and then vanishes when you start typing. If you use up/down arrow keys to move the cursor, the whole note scrolls up/down. It's most frustrating because in using Evernote, I'm constantly copying text / referencing other documents from other places and pasting / typing into EN. <Alt-Tab elsewhere> Select / Copy <Alt-Tab to EN> see the cursor blinking at me where I left it, <Ctrl-Shift-V Paste>, cursor goes away, no paste. (Note, I wish Paste-Match-Style [aka paste as plain text] could be configured as default) -or- <Alt-Tab to EN> see the cursor, start typing, cursor goes away, no typing happens. -or- <Alt-Tab to EN> see cursor, click mouse to re-position cursor, see cursor in new place, start typing/pasting, cursor goes away, no typing/pasting happens. In all cases, the Note itself still has focus because Up/Down arrows scroll the Note. It's just decided to stop being in edit mode. I typically work with Notes in the main EN window, not floating by themselves, but it also happens when they are by themselves (undocked). Does not happen 100% of time, but is 100% annoying when it does, about 80+% of the time. This happened in the previous version as well and was such an annoying issue I thought it would be fixed pronto, so I didn't comment on it.

  12. See screencast http://recordit.co/irjaescyyN Last update made things even worse, now it takes couple of seconds to display note content (starts that evernotesubprocess.exe) on changing notes in main window, making it completely annoying and unuseful. Looks like ugly workaround for hiding memory leaks... At least in few previous updates those delays were on opening note in a new window only. Missing those times when there were no delays at all anywhere...

  16. Me either. Just saying an app which intends to provide productivity should do it in all aspects of usage. Things that slow the experience down should be closely monitored. Sometimes that means custom is needed over off-the-shelf, with the attendant issues that multi platform will most likely bring. One should err to developer impact not user impact, IMO. If it becomes untenable to maintain, I get it, but that should be a tall hurdle and the baseline for the change should be no worse than the previous version. The reason I bring it up is because productivity in physical usage of EN has degraded across the last year on Windows. At least it has for me where I keep literally everything in EN, from tasks to paperless. Search and the like are still great. IOS speed has improved in the last year in my experience, kudos to that group. But I spend most of my editing/working in Windows. And speaking of that, for all the work, editing/rendering in some areas may be worse than it was a year ago.

  17. Thanks for the report. We're aware and working on a fix for this. Until this issue is solved, please use Evernote Web: https://www.evernote.com/Home.action to access your notes. Additionally you can also reinstall version 6.7.5. This issue should not occur on version 6.7.5 of Evernote for Windows Desktop Web. I will post an update here once this issue is fixed in the GA (currently scheduled to be fixed in 6.11). Thanks,

  18. I'm not saying whether any lag is due to the CEF subprocesses, because I don't know that for a fact. The stated reason they've moved to the CEF -- and it makes a certain amount of sense -- is because it's (theoretically) a common solution to rendering and editing notes across multiple OS platforms, replacing the old way, which had separate (and home-grown, I think) edit/display engines for each of the separate OS's, and which lead to a different class problems. It would be interesting to know whether this same lag occurs on the other OS's, or if this is a Windows-only phenomenon. If so, it may just be that there are better techniques for managing the subprocesses that perform better that Evernote hasn't discoverd / implemented. As it is, I don't seem to experience much if any lag for my use case at work, which is mainly pretty simple notes, some with tables: weekly journals, problem notes, meeting notes, todo's, and relatively little binary content, the occasional screen shot, plus clipped web pages for research, etc. Any productivity lapses are probably more down to the ones in my own (aging) brain processes...

  20. If these note display lags are indeed due to this chromium platform, me wonders if this is the best platform for a productivity app. Ditto the current PDF display tech. EDIT: Apologies, couldn't help myself, added a screen clip from the EN sign in web page.

  23. Thanks gazumped... I'm currently turning the ENWC on when I need it and off when not... But not an ideal solution. I had been unable to find a place to lodge a support request - thank you for the link... I submitted a ticket with EN - hopefully somebody reads it... I don't know why support is so hidden. I even registered a suggestion in the forums a while back to have a button on the app or web app that allows you to submit suggestions or support requests. Now I know...

  25. For my sensitive data, I use the native encryption of attachments; PDFs and office/iwork documents can be encrypted by their apps. >>full disk encryption is your best defense against data breaches I use FileVault on my Mac. However Evernote is a cloud service; my data is also uploaded and stored on the servers.

  26. I’ve pressed the GDPR issue pretty hard via multiple channels at Evernote. The first official response from a support guy identified as Anderson A. was an exercise in dodging the issue and refusing to provide direct answers. I refused to accept that and demanded an answer to my questions. Jason C., Technical Support Manager replied with a direct answer, albeit an unsatisfactory one. Pasted below are excerpts from that email: A formal GDPR compliance explanation is being worked on and will be available between now and May 25. I don't have a more specific date I can give you there. We are committed to complying with GDPR as we have with other EU laws and regulations. We have many customers in Europe and we understand how important this is to their ability to continue to use Evernote. It is possible to dive in to the database file and view that content as plain text. It takes some work but the content is there. This isn't true for encrypted note text. We don't have any plans at the moment to permit entire notes or notebooks to be encrypted. Based on that response, companies need to make contingency plans to migrate in case the official stance falls short of compliance. It also means that everything in Evernote that has attachments, has formatting (such as bulleted text, bold, underlined, or italicized text) CANNOT be encrypted and if a company has the app on laptops and those devices are compromised by malware, your cyber adversary will be able to access the data you have In Evernote. Because the Evernote app does not provide proper data security of data in its database on endpoints (laptops, desktops, etc), full disk encryption is your best defense against data breaches, but that will still not protect your data when your endpoint is compromised by malware and you decrypt your hard drive to work in Evernote. Whatsmore, Evernote has migrated its cloud to Google, which means your data might be stored on servers in the USA and could be swept up by a FISA court warrant that Evernote cannot fight and that your company will never know about.

  28. @JeremyToler @CalS A recent change in Chrome broke part of what supported that, so we had to revert to an earlier version. All other clients (including the new web client that's currently business-only) should still have it, and it should work in Safari.

  29. Evernote is not, nor does it claim to be, a security app. They take great pains to secure your data on their servers, but securing your machine is your responsibility. Your hard drive should be encrypted and your user profile should be behind a secure login. Most of Evernote's content is in pretty much plain text on your computer's hard drive, so even if you log off of Evernote and uninstall it, someone could still read much of your content by looking at the database files. You should be using a product like LastPass for passwords.

  30. I still have problems with "simplify formatting" and "remove formatting" not working, ie, not working as intended or as on other platforms. (I'm commenting on this problem since 6.6GA, that was August 2017... time really flies.) Maybe they are associated with the changes towards a "new editor", which was started some versions ago. Is there some kind of ETA for when Evernote will have a reasonably stable version with a reasonably working editor again? Is there a recommended ancient version that was reasonably stable and to which I can revert without having to download the entire database again? (I'm traveling and on slow downloads). Fun fact: Evernote is the only "enterprise" software where I'm confronted with buggy GAs where some basic "bugs" seem to persist forever, and where my desperation drives me to monitor and even post in forums. It's still the "bug ridden Elefant".

  31. I rolled back to 6.5.4.4720. Normal PDF viewer. Reasonable editor, especially compared to the forgetful focus issue. Besides the introduction of issues, for me, like forgetful focus in notes, now forgetful focus in repeated searches, the lesser quality PDF viewer, lag when switching between notes, and the addition of a New Note button I never ever have felt a need for, I don't really see what the new releases are doing. There is no roadmap to compare to either so God knows what the intended direction of these releases is.

  35. It is really annoying! Pasting in text from browsers is probably the most common note taking method. It naturally involves Alt+tabbing between windows. How can the cursor "disappear" when I Alt+tab back to EN?!!! It gets even more annoying when I am pasting in places other than the end of the note! I keep pasting in and nothing gets pasted. I keep having to relocate my cursor click and paste!

  36. Hi. Evernote's server-side backup of all notes in your account is active for all accounts from the day they're set up. If you upgrade to premium - even if only for one month - you would find the history of that note and be able to step back to a previous version. Not saying that this will be a full copy since you may have lost some of the most recent edits; but you should get everything that was synced for several hours prior to this loss. If you do lose data in this way, simply replacing the current database with a copy of a past version won't help. The date stamps on the backup notes will be older than the current version, and will just be overwritten with the existing data. You need to be offline and extract the backup note(s) you need from the backup database as ENEX files and to re-import them into your account as new notes so that they will sync as is. I do suggest you use Twitter and @EvernoteHelps to report your issue with full details - you may not get any specific feedback, but Evernote is interested in all data losses to try to improve their systems for the future.

  37. Nearly full agree. EN is my favourite workflow tool and managing simple text notes is the base of all. But the text editor is getting worse with every new version: Ctrl-Shift-V (paste plane text) stopped retaining URLs In former versions it was a pretty fine feature to retain URLs during paste of texts from browsers or Outlook whereas other formatting was removed. Now Ctrl-Shift-V pastes unformatted text (good) but removes URLs (very bad) Why not offering a setting to control strict vs. smart "Paste Plane Text"? Display embedded PDFs was simple and completely sufficient Now scrolling though notes stops when a PDF comes in sight. Scrolling "jumps" to the PDF which is scrolled till end before my text (outside PDF) continues scrolling... Maybe a nice feature for somebody - but confuses me. Seeing the first page of my PDFs is enough. If I want to see more, it was possible to simply click to PageUp and -Down icons or double click on the PDF to execute a foreign viewer... Now I have to RClick->Open (hard to find vs. a simple DClick) or view (all) PDFs as attachments to avoid stupid scrolling Viewing PDFs als attachments is a bad choice because this avoids the small preview when using Ctrl-F5 ord Ctrl-F6 modes of note listings Why not offering a setting to enable the new PDF "features" vs. using the good old style? Handling of embedded PDFs (viewed as attachments) in bulletted lists If you have some embedded files continously added in one line in a bulletted list, try the following: move the cursor between the files type <RETURN> You will find a new bullet in the next line but the file just behind the cursor did not move to the new bullet If you insert a <SPACE> just before an embedded PDF, position the cursor before the <SPACE> and type <RETURN> the PDF moves to the new bullet line (but you have to remove the <SPACE> in front of it - stupid) I think, this is a bug of the new PDF handling technique - but Why not offering a setting to enable the new PDF "features" vs. using the good old style? ? Smaller font in left pane ... is OK for me because I can see some more notebooks and tags on my screen ? But new big "New Note" seems to be a bad idea of a marketing guy... We all had a Toolbar icon "New Note"... Why not offering settings to define fonts in app sections and show/remove stupid new buttons?

  38. It seems to me that most of the people who have responded to this lenghty thread proposing workarounds do not understand the use case. The issue is not about searching through a large number of notes. It is about being able to ARCHIVE old information. Several people, including patricksan, understand the issue. We have clients, we take courses in universities, we work on projects--and when they're over, we don't need to see the information again except in rare circumstances. And if one is a consultant or does project work, chances are high that you have notes that are very similar, but which are unique to specific clients. An archive tag will not work (effectively) in those situations. I dont know the decision matrix that the Evernote people use to decide what features to build, but this thread has been going on for a year or two, and never once has anyone from the company interjected. Nor did the company respond to my emails.

  39. I know this is way out of date but i found this thread yesterday when i was suffering a similar problem after reinstallation of Evernote on OSX. The new Evernote installation as connected and signed into my account, my account had hundreds of documents, and those were visible and sync-able between my iPhone and iPad - but not my MacBook pro. Turns out the only thing to fix the problem, was to remove Evernote (in the normal way) by deleting the package from the normal /Applications folder. This i noticed leaves residual Evernote files (and state) in the /Users/john/Library/Application Support/com.Evernote folder. Please note this folder will not be visible in your Finder unless you have hidden files enabled, but you can navigate to it in the terminal if you use quotation marks around the path : cd "/Users/john/Library/Application Support". Also replace 'john' with your username - you can verify that using the whoami command in the terminal. So to the solution: Uninstall Evernote application from OSX/mac Delete the folder /Users/john/Library/Application Support/com.Evernote using the command: rm -rf "/Users/john/Library/Application Support/com.Evernote" Reinstall Evernote Sign-in as normal Synchronisation should continue as normal, it did for me anyway after hours of troubleshooting. I think this also tallies with the earlier solution offered by the person suggesting to download an app-cleaner application. This solution, is far easier and doesn't require a new app to be installed. Hop this helps.

  40. Thanks... Good to know... I didn't even realize the whole not history issue... that's a HUGE glaring problem... My main thing is this... I don't need to encrypt most text on my pc... I don't let people log into my windows profile... and if anyone who ever uses my PC might know how to get to files of a different user, it would be me... Basically... the people I want to protect my note from is the Cloud/evernote. Which is why I want something completely different. A notebook that remains unencrypted and fully searchable on my own PC... I can access with no password (except the first time when I login initially)... but that is encrypted before sending up to the cloud such that evernote employees could never access it. I know that #1 this might mean no image text search because I think OCR is done in the cloud... I'm fine with that. #2 Some people DO want the notes to be stored encrypted locally, which is why I recommend 2 types of encrypted notebooks. Fully encrypted. (requires password every time you want to open the notebook) and cloud encrypted... works like any other notebook in your local PC app, but is encrypted such that evernote (the company) could never read the note on their servers. (Much like how my lastpass works... I leave it unlocked on my personal PC profile that I never let anyone use... so I can early search and use it... but lastpass the company still has zero knowledge)

  41. Great - thanks! I know this has been suggested in the past... what's the status? Is it on the road-map? Is it at least a planned feature? Under serious consideration?

  42. Apologies to be redundant... but I realized you never actually acknowledged my other feature suggestion above... and since this thread has your attention I want to make 100% sure you saw it since it was amidst my huge post... ENCRYPTED NOTEBOOKS... I quite literally have on my RTM list every 6 months to look for Evernote competitors who might offer this along with a good enough set of features that I can abandon Evernote for a product that makes it easier to both have privacy when needed, and cloud convenience. Your only options for privacy are local notebooks (no cloud backup) or encrypting bits of text I must type a password every time I want to see (Onerous) and I can't encrypt attachments or photos, so no could backup/sync for those if they need to stay private. I need to be able to just create notes in a protected/encrypted notebook. Evernote/you have zero knowledge. Yet I can access them freely and without password on my own PC/phone if I so choose. (of course I know I would need to enter the password once... I just mean not every time... unless I choose that) See previous post for more details about how I think it should be done. Please.... please... tell me this feature is on the roadmap... Fix that and note formatting, and you probably have me locked in for life...

  44. I just found a new issue... this one is very minor... not really the type of thing I would call "buggy"... this is more just "not polished"... but since we are on the subject and it just happened I figured I would share... When there is a long text next to a checkbox the wrapping text should start where the previous line above starts... instead if starts where the checkbox starts... this looks ugly. (It looks like your bullet and numbered lists do this correctly... but not the checkboxes.)
    1 point
  45. Hey - thanks! First - while I have your attention... Evernote is great, except for these formatting issues and one other non-related thing... The glaring and absurdly missing feature.... encrypted notebooks! I want the ability to encrypt a whole notebook so I can put sensitive notes there and have them protected from other eyes but still have them sync. I'd prefer this feature be implemented, so that I have option (per notebook) to either require password each time I see notebook (i.e. protect it from you/cloud and from other people on my own PC), or to only require the password the first time I open the notebook on a new PC, so that it's really just to protect it from you/cloud. (i.e. others on my PC could see it... but I don't have to futz around with entering a password everytime I want to see it... but you (evernote) still have zero knowledge) I see no reason this feature should not be implemented. If you offer local notebooks and encrypting parts of notes... you should offer encrypted notebooks... they would be like local notebooks except they sync! and I don't have to worry about backing up in case my PC crashes. OK - with that out of the way... So, the issue described in OP is the main one I am having now. (quoted below) I described that one in detail. Other problems I don't recall the details I just know the often involve pasting stuff from other sources and the text being ridiculously large, or formatted strange... editing causes strange results... or other various problems with line breaks from pasted text. It reminds me of some web page wiki rich text editors... where it seems like the underlying html is not being edited in an intelligent way. Resulting in strange spans or font tags, etc. One thing I will say regarding my original problem is that I was poking around and found the "simplify formatting" option. performing this caused the issue described below to go away. Since then I have not pasted anything. (I mostly use evernote for page scans from scansnap, and web clippings using chrome addon... I actually don't do much manual pasting/editing... which means that the issues i have are far and few between... but it seems like a large percentage of manually manipulated notes) But the next time I do and have an issue, I will try the simplify formatting again... perhaps that will help me. (Might be nice to have that as a button just like bold/italics/strike through, etc for one click mouse access) In any case - I will post back here (or wherever you like) to describe issues in detail as they come up... or actually I use Jing/screencast a lot so I could even post a video link showing the issue in action. My reports may be few and far between though because I don't do manual editing much, but I am happy to report if you tell me the best place. Thanks again.

  47. Lol :-) Yea... banging my head on a wall was getting tiring which landed me here looking for advice. Thanks for the tip! Workflowy looks pretty snazzy, I might have to give it a try... I do hope evernote gets their act together though... (or there are perhaps some tips/workarounds I can use in the meantime)... I do like having evernote has my universal reference material app. One search box for everything. I suppose until then though I may have to add workflowy as another app to organize my life. Question about workflowy... I see I can hover and click complete... but can I get checkboxs for easy one tap completion on my phone? Part of what I want with this labor bag list is to be able to easy check things off as I pack last minute items....

  48. Were you able to get this resolved? I have the same issue - not receiving any email verification emails.

  49. We get so many questions about integrating Evernote with task managers, we updated our blog post and added a new infographic.

  50. I'm using the notebooks the same way I used many categories in EN2.2, as "holders", as opposed to tags/attributes. For instance, I dump recipes into the Recipes notebook, Tips into the Tips notebook, etc. etc. What I'd like to be able to do is have subnotebooks so that I can have say Tips:Latex, Tips:Linux, Tips:Windows as subnotebooks on Tips. Yes, I can painfully accomplish the same thing with tags, but it's clunky for a couple of reasons: 1. When I want to mark a note as a Tips/Linux note, I have to: (a) move it to the Tips notebook and then ( tag it with Linux to distinguish it from other tips notes. If I had a separate notebook for Linux, I could just drag the note to that notebook and be done - half as much work. However, I've already got 13 notebooks - adding that many more will make the list unwieldy. 2. One of the joys of clipping to the web version is the ability to pick the destination notebook. Easy, quick, done. (Yes, I can tag there too - but I'd have to remember all my tags then.) Basically, I find the current tag implementation unwieldy. And frankly, useless. I can't easily select multiple tags, e.g., by clicking on their parent (a la 2.2), so the hierarchy is, well, frankly, completely meaningless. I'm trying to adapt to using it, but it's kind of a square peg/round hole argument. In addition, I find the saved searches to be pretty much useless for me too. Because I can't organize them in a hierarchy; and because they're not combined with the tag list, and because I can only have 32, I don't see the point in using them. What this means is that the only left-panel part of EN3 that I find useful at all is the notebooks concept. Unfortunately, they're a flat list, sorted alphabetically. This means that I've actually changed the kind of data I store in EN3. I don't keep anything "important" there, just scraps that I can dump into a notebook willy-nilly.
