  1. Two features to greatly improve the note writing and organization experience: Header Styles – Standard header styles, such as Title, Sub-title, Header 1, etc. Medium, Google Docs, and Slack Posts all are great examples of this. You should be able to select these header styles using a click of a button. The current workaround is painful: change font size for the header line, then change font size again to start writing in the smaller font. Note Outline – Once you create headers, these headers can then become a note outline that can easily be navigated. Look to Google Docs for a gre

  2. Just moved to a chromebook, so I'm copying in journal entries from DayOne2. But they all get today's date. I can see the creation date in Info on the note, but I cannot change it. Is there another way.

  3. I am missing one very important thing on evernote. This is styles as most text editors offers. The "bold", "italic", "size", "font" are aweful and even Microsoft Word offer a much better solution: styles. Styles allows you to customize text format such as title, subtitles, alignment, code block, quotes... While taking a note I don't need funny formatting. I just want to classify and organize my thoughts efficiently. So please, remove (or at least add an option) and replace the B I U button and Size, Font menus with one single menu with customization styles: titles, subtitiles, paragraph,

  4. In the latest Evernote version there is now a warning about moving notes into a shared folder. As someone that moves notes to a shared folder constantly, the additional click in my workflow is annoying. There should be a way to suppress this warning. Either a field when creating the shared notebook, or possibly just a checkbox on the warning itself "Do not show this warning again." I'm fine with a warning, but just make sure the warning can be suppressed. Thanks!

  5. I use Evernote every day, and there's a feature/glitch in the new laptop app design that's killing me. When you're working in a note, the note highlights light gray. But when it syncs to the cloud, it flickers to white and then back to gray. Which it's doing constantly when you type. So when you're actually typing in notes, right next to where you're working, there's essentially a boxing flashing back and forth between colors. It's IMMENSELY distracting. In fact, I've already temporarily switched over the web app because I can't stand it, but I much prefer to use my local app. Can we ple

  6. PITA is right! Tried changing notebook, didn't work either. Ported over note with title, but no body. I'll keep trying. Anyway, thanks for the help!

  8. its not a mac thing print formatting sucks and really lets down event and it cannot be that difficult for god's sake! I really dont want to store docs and use word just to get decent print formatting. This is a great product but the attitude of the developers means I am looking for another product

  11. On Macs, use System Preferences > Keyboard to set the shortcut for any menu item Evernote/Mac also has a built in scripting layer Useful for a command where there's no menu item (like reminders), or a string of commands

  12. Another option, as @CalS mentioned, is AutoHotkey. Here's how you could use AHK to create shortcuts to add, change and clear Reminders: For sure though, EN providing native shortcuts to Reminders is optimal. Failing that, providing keyboard access to Reminders is sufficient - it would allow users to use keystrokes instead of the mouse, and also allow those so inclined to create more robust hotkeys using PE or AHK that don't rely on locating an icon on a screen (or on one of multiple screens).

  13. Can we unpin this note from 2017 and the one from 2016 in this forum?

  14. @Shane D. if I might make a suggestion, you have the means here in the forum to at the very least acknowledge major issues like this. A sticky thread as soon as you become aware of something like this would reassure users that it was known about by EN. Regular updates to that thread, even if it's to say it's still under investigation would let people know it hadn't been forgotten or brushed under the carpet. You'll of course have a mix of technical knowledge on here, but posting the level of information Tech Support provided to me is genuinely helpful and may be a source of input to resolving

  15. This has happened in the past a few times (I've reported it over the years on this forum and in bug reports). It's not a new issue. It seems to crop up every once in a while. I haven't seen it in this version myself (knock on wood), but it sounds sadly familiar, so I think the engineers would take it seriously.

  16. FYI the support person sympathized with the situation but said that this was expected behavior and suggested I post here. Let me know if anyone gets a different response.

  17. I also hate this ugly new space-consuming button. There will never be one interface that suits everyone's preferences. That's why providing options for customizing it, at least in the desktop versions, is essential. Have you looked at "Customize Toolbar"? There are barely a half-dozen things you can configure in it, there should be a lot more. That left panel? I love how you can show and hide whatever you want. Except for that ugly as hell new note button that just sits up there wasting space and being useless.

  18. I'm not typically a poster here (obviously) but I just want to say this about your response. As a long time user (Evernote tells me I'm user 169,158), I really don't care about more interesting stuff. I'd like to see progress made improving the editor. I'd like my note lists to stop vanishing - which was reported multiple times during the betas (as others mentioned). I'd like releases to be rolled out that don't crash every time the window is closed (7.0, 7.01). Make some progress on those fronts, and I'll renew my subscription that I just now cancelled; because right now I can't understa

  19. Upvoted. I upgraded about three hours ago and I thought I could just ignore it but I hate it. I have "New Note" on my toolbar; I don't also need it on the left panel, especially a bright green circle with a plus sign in it. :::sigh:::

  23. Is it possible in the Evernote Mac desktop client to use styles, such as Header 1, Header 2, Paragraph etc. Now I have to do all styling manually which really breaks the flow of making a note.

  24. Agreed...Vote for Styles as well, that would solve 95% of the problem.

  25. Could not agree MORE. Lack of Defined Styles is the #1 reason why I'm not a paying customer. I use EverNote for code snippets, and notes... being able to highlight a block of text and select Style>>Code would help immensely. Sadly, looks like I'll be checking out OneNote, or KeepIt, or DayOne.

  26. It does seem like that would be pretty simple to program. What margins are you looking for? When I print (just to test; I don't generally print from EN), I get left/right/bottom margins of 1/2 inch (1.4 cm) and a top margin of 3/4 inch (1.8 cm). That's already fairly small.

  27. This is really stupid though. I mean, others may want more, I just want Evernote to add to the Print Settings options for smaller margins (or in the preferences). The only option when printing is "Print Headers". Sure, I CAN copy/paste in to Pages and print (or in my case, save as a PDF), but I shouldn't have to do that.

  28. I found this quite useful. Don't expect anything from Evernote. The last big change here was the ability to nest notes or tags (can't remember which) and that must have been about 18 months ago. There may be stuff going on "under the hood" but my impression is that the Web version has been effectively abandoned. It is what it is.

  29. I was able to get "Print to Evernote" working on macOS 10.12.5, EN 6.11 (from the browser or wherever) "Print" (If in Chrome, "Print Using System Dialog") Tap "PDF" in the bottom left corner (assuming "Evernote" isn't on the menu) "Edit Menu..." Tap the + sign Select the "Evernote" application from the Applications folder "OK" Now select "Evernote" from the "PDF" drop down menu Voila! Now you can print directly into Evernote. Or at least it works for me... -- Ken Chin-Purcell

BUT I want to be able to format my notes and print them out in a decent format ALSO I want to be able to create card file printouts that do not waste 2/3rds of the card Please Evernote listen to your users I am looking for a new app if I can find one that prints notes properly

  32. Dear Evernote, can you please tell us when this will be done? We know this is why you raised prices (To pay the engineers to fix this necessary and logical functionality that has yet to exist) I would love to continue boasting how well my needs are met by this software, and this one should be a given.

  34. I'd love to see some styles built in such as h1, h2, h3, h4, block quote, and code. (Not terribly dissimilar to this forum's formatting tools.) They could be simple styles with toolbar buttons and shortcuts, but that would speed up my note taking processes. Having to stop to format a subhead and then format back to a paragraph as I type severely slows down my notes, which mean I occasionally miss things in person or have to rewind videos — or I have a mess to clean up later. Thankfully, some additional formatting (superscript, subscript, strike through, etc.) is available in the Format me

  35. Sorry but being able to define margins for printing doesn't seem to be the strangest feature for a generic information app which is mostly a notes app. We are not asking for 3D render of notes or full support of 4K videos in Evernote. Just the ability to print the notes we have written with a very common option : margins. When we have a good app like Evernote we pay every year, I think it's normal to ask for more features.

  36. I don't think we should have to use a Word Processing program... I'm taking notes in Evernote, i'm doing reports, i'm copying data, web pages, many things. But when everything is in Evernote and I want to print a specific note, I don't have options to make a good print, just like i would like it to be .. that's silly .. Evernote works well, only the print options are missing for years .. I don't need tricky options I could find in a Word Processing program, I just need to be able to print correctly from Evernote.. That's really simple and should be easy to do .. It's silly from
