I regret to have downloaded the new version of evernote, as now my notebooks are all organized in a list. This does not give a good overview - one has to scroll down + it is an extremely boring layout. The old book form (the little squares) where better in both aspects (going from left to right, it was possible to see many more notebooks on the screen.) My request is to allow users to choose for themselves if they want list or books (just add an icon next to "your list" => sort by => books (instead of only number of notes, etc., names etc.) , and why in addition (later, after this has been solved) do not also work on a version that allow users to add other distinguishing features, depending on their own preferences (shapes, colors,)

I use code block formatting a lot. Am I crazy for doing this? How long will this feature be in "beta"? It's been over a year now right? maybe more? Here's a fresh note I just created in EN Mac v6.12.3 (455520 Direct), the code block looks like this (I have already "Simplified Formatting" and made sure that everything is "clean" several times) Now, switch over to the same note on the iOS app (v8.4.1) and... Not only does this make editing on mobile impossible, but it concerns me that data will be corrupted/lost.

So far, you can only link one note to another. But you can't: Link one section of a note to another section of a note Link one section of a note to a section of another note EXAMPLE: Literally any wikipedia (<-- random example) page. After the intro description, there is a 'contents' box that links to itself later in a document. You can also click to links of sections of other pages on the site. OneNote already has this feature. I find OneNote awful BUT this feature is the one and only reason why I use OneNote over Evernote at work, and Evernote just for personal use. Please update your linking features!

Thanks for that. Will give uninstalling a go, else submit a support request. Cheers!

We saw basic markdown (lowercase m) implemented with this Mac version Finally, many people have asked for ways to speed formatting via the keyboard and we've added this in 6.2 by allowing you to use markdown-inspired shortcuts. We’ve posted a blog post about our new common editor and this is one of the first major new features from this team. Expect more in the coming months. This basically means that you can type characters into your note that will automatically apply formatting or a style to the text. Here’s the list of formatting options supported. Inline Formatting *Text* = Italics **Text** = Bold ~~Text~~ = Strikethrough !!Text!! = Highlight `Text`= Code Block Lists and Tables Typing “1. “ will start a numbered list Typing “* “ will start a bulleted list Typing [] or [ ] will create an unchecked checkbox Typing [x] will create a checked checkbox Typing a line of at least three * or - will add a horizontal rule Typing a [][][] on it’s own line will add a table with 3 columns Typing [][][][]x2 on it’s own line will add a table with 4 columns and 2 rows

There are those life changing tools, this is one of them. I am a heavy Evernote user with 12.000+ notes but never gave too much attention to the tables.... until now. Very easy way of organizing info within a note. Now I am putting pictures, pdf, docs all in tables.

As an Evernote Business customer you should be able to do Live Chat for support as well.

Thank you SO much!! That was terrifying not being able to access the note & fear that it would happen again to other notes. That worked like a charm, also thank you for the support link, I couldn't find that either.

Hi Gazumped, Thanks for your advice, unfortunately, I can't use it as I have already re-installed Windows system on my laptop. I believe that in the other case it will be useful for such issue.

This would be nice, but it's not Markdown. Actually, that's a common-sense take on the situation. Basically, the stance is "Evernote doesn't supply it now, and while it's fine to request it, there's no guarantee that they will add it. Therefore, if it's critical to your workflow (and third-party additions like Marxico -- see https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/61145-marxico-the-missing-markdown-editor-for-evernote/ -- don't cut it) then you should look elsewhere".

Not at all a dumb comment, but honestly I have no clue what simplify formatting does. 9/10 times when I use it, it doesn't simplify enough, so I cut the text to the clipboard and roundtrip it through Notepad. I rarely use Remove Formatting because that converts the entire note, not just your selection, to plain text. Great for a new clipping, but not much else.

Well, sometimes clipper doesn't grab what I want or grabs too much so I Ctrl-A/Ctrl-C or drag/copy. Then I may want to paste it all or just the text with the links for future reference or just the text. And I'd just as soon do the copy and a single paste action. My use case anyway. Simplified article is in the neighborhood for text with links, except you always get the "whole" article, some of the images, and some of the formatting. So more editing than I care to do. Can work with 2 out of 3, but all three would be special.

Hi! I've been using Evernote for about 2 years or more now and one thing that I've been waiting for is a distraction-free environment, similar to the presentation mode. Actually, it would be perfect if we could change to presentation mode and also have the option to select a menu to edit the note instead of only being able to see it. This feature would improve immensely the power of Evernote, specially with us users being able to choose between day/night modes. I strongly recommend you guys look into this for the next updates Thanks!

Adjusting Thank you very much. That was extremely helpful and exactly what I was looking for. I can safely say, I would never have thought to look in that location to solve the problem. You rock!

The options are based on the OS settings. You can modify them here: System Preferences->Language and Region->Advanced->Dates
