  1. Yea, I have to second this. I'd gladly upgrade to Premium, if Evernote could add a secure folder-lock feature.

  2. Adding my voice to this feature request. Use Evernote heavily in my business and have just recently started to add personal journal entries on the personal end. Because I literally spend my entire day running my business from Evernote, having a journal in there for personal entries just made sense. Having the ability to password protect this folder would be ideal. Thanks for making such an awesome product!! - Aaron Aiken

  3. [I sent this out via Evernote Support on May 4th and besides a computer-generated email response saying "we got your support request and we'll be in touch with you", Evernote Support (and I am a Premium paying customer) has been silent for 4 days]: We are back to square one: months ago I complained about the terrible, sluggish performance of Evernote when typing a note. The next update of Evernote cleared out the issue. Everything wonderfully well after that corrective update. Unfortunately, the latest update, "version 6.5.4.4720 (304720) Public" which was I installed about 2-3 weeks ag

  4. Hi there, I browsed a little bit through this forum to find an answer regarding protecting a folder within my evernote account. Maybe I’m blind or stupid - but I found nothing regarding this feature. My Idea was to create a folder like "passbox" with important information like passwords or bank account. Would be great to get a feedback - btw - is there a link or email address available for suggestions? Kind Regards

  5. I have a pretty beefy Windows 10 box... 12gb memory, reasonably fast processor, etc. Pretty much everything runs smoothly... except Evernote :(. It loads quickly and I have no problem editing notes. However, searching is very problematic! When I start typing in the search box, Evernote can freeze up for 10+ seconds. And even more often, there are multi-second delays after typing each letter. I'm running this version: 6.5.4.4720 (3045720) Public. And I've tried a ton of ways to fix this, including these options under Help: Fix all notes Fix notebookless notes Fi

  6. Update: Performing some troubleshooting, I discovered that a simple note with about 15 printable pages of entries over several years, ballooned to more than 900-pages, with an almost endless loop of repeated entries in the file. From the Mac, I printed the first 20 pages to a PDF file, converted the PDF to a Word file; deleted the corrupt Evernote file; and carefully copied and pasted entries from the Word file into two, separate notes in Evernote. It worked like a charm. Everything is stable on the MAC and my IOS platforms and I am having no stability issues. I will no longer use a singl

  7. Dear dev team, I like Evernote very much, but I don't use it for typing. Why? very uncomfortable. i'm a professionnal writer and I'm writing in hirizontal mode by 2 tumbs. In evernote horiz interface you left only 4 lines of the text. It's very few!!! Please add the possibility to switch off all unuseful boards. Look at the good example: the format boards appear only after SELECTION. I hope you'll try to create your app more comfortable for people who are really WRITING Thanks for your attention See the examples in the attach file.

  8. Dear Evernote Product Team As a veteran Evernote user - I give multiple thumbs up for the 'Password Protected Folder' feature. We need this both on the Windows & Android APP. Storing sensitive information within Evernote is something we routinely do daily. However; a 'Password Protected Folder' or a basic 'Pin' setting will be great. Best regards,

  10. I had a related issue -- most of the content of a note got deleted somehow and I needed to restore from incremental backup -- which led me to this thread. The strategy proposed by DTLow worked for me (thanks!). I'm adding a few more details in case it is helpful for others. After identifying the Evernote "content" folder, I sorted the subdirectories by modification date. Looking at the most recently changed folders, I looked at the "card.png" file in each folder to see which is the note that needed to be restored. I closed Evernote, restored the full directory for that particular note in

  11. Mac OS has a feature in Keyboard preferences that will replace a character sequence you type with a different one. I'm trying to use this to create my own "star tags" since Evernote refuses to add these to the product. For example, I've set the feature to replace "3 star" (without the space) with "★★★". This works when editing a note's text. But it doesn't work when adding tags, and it should.

  12. I did uninstall and reinstall Evernote 5 days ago. That might have done the trick. So far I haven't seen notes move into "My Notebook." Thanks for the suggestion. Hopefully this closes the incident

  13. Yeah... I may have shaken the glitch tree myself. Because of problems with another app I disabled all my add-ins and deleted history and cookies to try and get back to basics. Problem not solved, but went back to normal browsing and re-enabled all the add-ins, including Clipper... and suddenly I'm now getting all the new user messages for Clipper and saving PDFs - and I had to log in to Clipper three times so far... I'll see your rant and raise you...

  14. Please bring "presentation" view back to iPad and iPhone. As a minister this is how I've grown accustomed to speaking in front of audiences for the past couple years.

  15. I hear that, I guess I'm just not used to the whole tag system yet. I came from Google Apps and Dropbox, having used both for many years and relied heavily on specified folders, so maybe I'm just not using tags correctly. I think it was another users who suggest using prefixes if there the same tag is being used for both home and work. Some tags would be "Articles." For work, I write articles. For personal use, I save Articles. Or, for Reviews. I write reviews, but I also save reviews to read later. I guess there's an easy fix for that, being that the tagging system is powerful, so I may have

  16. I can understand the desire to jump into something new with a lot of attractive bells and whistles. Personally, I have too much important and historical data stored in Evernote to risk a switch to a beta program. Dropbox Paper has been in beta status for at least a year. Once it is officially released, I will give it a trial. Until then, I will follow Dropbox's advice: DROPBOX WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH A BETA SERVICE—USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. https://www.dropbox.com/help/9175 p.s. Yes, I also avoid Evernote beta upgrades as well.

  17. Yup. A year ago I gave paper a try. Still using Evernote though... no convincing reason to change.

  18. One side effect I'm noticing of the move away from a gray border around the note space to being white on white is that there's no longer any indication of where I can click to put my cursor into a note. In v5 I could see the white space of the note between the last word of the note and the gray space outside. Clicking anywhere in that white put my cursor at the end of the note and I could begin writing. In v6 I have to click very close to the end of the existing note content (like within 1 row) in order to insert the cursor, otherwise I'm clicking in what used to be the gray space an

  19. I can see some users going for it - the real-time editing and direct calendar links look pretty good. Of course if I were a company like Evernote, with an existing product and a market position to protect, I might have held back some juicy features so that if a competitor launches something better than my recent products, I already have a 'plan B' ready to launch so I can leave the competitors eating my dust. (No inside knowledge here, I'm just sneaky and devious by nature.) I signed up for the waiting list anyway. I like new toys too...

  20. Am I going to switch? No, it's too soon for me to consider moving my data to the beta "Dropbox Paper". If it is gaining users and develops a strong reputation, I might consider it in a couple years or so.

  21. Hi GrumpyMonkey, thanks for the quick answer ... so let me call my post "feature request" and let see, if in the future such a feature in Evernote (best tool ever) appears.

  22. Hi. Welcome to the forums! At this time, there are three methods for protecting sensitive data. You can use the encryption feature in Evernote to encrypt the text of a note. You can encrypt the data yourself before uploading it into Evernote. Or, you can keep the data in a local folder that does not sync with Evernote servers. We do not have the ability to password-protect notebooks. The user forum here is one of the best ways to suggest features. Evernote staff regularly read the posts here, and sometimes they comment as well.
