  1. I think this thread has now been despammed. I reported the fake response post bout 20 minutes after it appeared, but time zones... And that one person made half a dozen fake responses to other posts (including a couple of doubles) that I also reported. I imagine that account is now closed... Hope the OP's issue is fixed too!

  2. Great! BTW, the next beta will make the step in On-Demand Sync implementation: it will be able to purge content of the notes that were not viewed for a while. In this context "viewed" means opened in the note view or shown in the note list view. This prevents database with on-demand sync enabled from growing to 100%.

  3. Hi, This problem is with Evernote on Windows. I updated to 6.5.4.4720 (304720) Public a few days ago. Since the update, when I'm typing in a note in its own window, about every 30-60 seconds, the cursor jumps back to the beginning of the subject. Whatever I type then shows up at the beginning of the subject, not overwriting the existing subject. So then, I have to backspace to delete the word or two that ended up in the subject, and then press Return to get back to the body of the note. Fortunately, when I press Enter, the cursor jumps back to where it was in the body before it jumped to the subject. This bug is very frustrating. I use Evernote for brainstorming every day, and having to stop and deal with this over and over again is really hurting my creating flow. I'd love to get back to my normal workflow, because Evernote has worked so well for me until now. Thanks.

  4. I have my Evernote set to create a new note in a new window and to set the new note focus to title. This works fine when I start a new note, I can quickly type my title and then move to the body of the note. However, I use Evernote to do a lot of initial drafting so I frequently stop and think about what I'm writing rather than doing a quick brain dump. What I have found is that when I pause the focus moves from the body of the note back to the title box and as I restart typing it appears at the front of the title. As far as I can tell this only happens when I am typing in a note in a separate window. If I move from the note in a separate window to the copy of the new note in the main app window and type there the problem doesn't appear, even though there is a copy of the note open in a separate window. Is this a bug or possibly a keyboard/PC issue.

  5. Er, was just noting that both apps changed from their previous practice (plus another I noticed recently) at about the same time which might or might not be significant. That's why this is called a 'forum'.. for discussion.. ?

  6. Given my outdated technical skills I am going to have to print out this stuff and make a notebook -- how awful but that seems to be one way for me to solve this problem.. I can always use Evernote when I have a connection@

  7. I hope the lag when the app opens up is fixed soon. I had an interview last week and somebody asked me about a PCI document, I opened Evernote and sat there like a dork tapping Inbox so I could switch to my Cabinet notebook and it took several seconds to respond.

  8. I want to second this issue. I restart Evernote several times per week due to this. I had the issue this morning. The first attached image show EN using 2.3 GB of memory. After restarting EN, it only used 196 MB. Something is wrong.

  9. No. I am hoping the new tab view for Mac makes it to Windows.

  10. Major problem remains: notes not showing in main window - or sometimes very long wait for them to appear. Cannot edit PDFs - still rubs up against Mac OS issue.

  11. Here some workarounds in meantime. With saved searches, one of the methods you can use is to create Table of Contents note. Then you can copy a note link of this note by pressing Ctrl+Alt+L and pasting it where you want. As to notebooks and tags, you can use ENScript.exe utility, which included with Evernote, to create the folder containing search shortcuts in Windows and then drag the prudent shortcut from this folder into the note you want. To illustrate the first method, here is the link to the ENScript.exe saved search Table of Contents note: http://www.evernote.com/l/AJnCjL0BL2VE260yC9gbEYe-V21TTTRAAyw/ with all the relevant ENScript.exe notes. Hope this will help you. Here is a screenshot of a note, containing a couple of shortcuts created with ENScript.

  12. I have just built a notebook with all the info on traveling in Europe. Since I will be on places that will not have Internet connections I made this an offline notebook. Guess what... Now like so many other people I find I have no space on my phone. No problem I say put Evernote on my SD card. So it's a bit slower.. No problem..I am slow too at 83 but then I discover I can't do it.. Come on people have been asking for this for ages. I know you favor Apple stuff but there a lot of Android users out here and this is a feature we need....Others have addressed your objections...Just bite the bullet and do it fast Won't help me I will use something else.

  13. Sounds good. Is that a user setting? So I could set it to 1 month, or 6 months?

  14. I just tried changing two settings (at once), and one or both of them fixed the problem. Hopefully this will help with troubleshooting. Under Options > Note, "Create new note in a new window" was unchecked (although it was checked before the update), and "Set new note focus to title" was checked (as it was before the update). Just now, I checked "Create new note in a new window" and unchecked "Set new note focus to title". So now when I'm typing in a note with its own window, the cursor does not keep jumping back to the subject.

  15. @addmoo The notification emails you received after you changed your password are just delayed. Our email systems queue the outbound emails and may try to deliver for a couple of days before they give up and let you know. If you don't see any unexpected access in your Access History, you successfully kicked out whoever was using your account to send the emails.

  18. Hi y'all, I know this has been a long-standing topic and has since morphed into a Mac request, but I just wanted to drop in to let everyone know that this issue is on our radar, and our development team is currently investigating the best way to improve audio recording quality on the Mac app. I'd be happy to update this thread as they continue to make progress.
