  1. and the slow down in performance that would occur. I echo this concern as well since there are already concerns with how Evernote will scale over time with increasing databases. Not remembering the exact words has happened to me as well and when I do eventually find the note I just add the first couple of keywords that I first tried to the title so that next time I'll find it quicker. I could probably avoid this even more with more careful tagging but it happens so seldom and finding the forgotten note never takes that long, that, at least for me, the keyword approach is the way to go.

  2. It would be nice if the Evernote version for desktop systems (Windows, OSX, etc) provide keyboard shortcuts for moving paragraphs up and down. This feature is available in e.g. the Notepad++ text editor (ctrl-shift-up and ctrl-shift-down) and in Eclipse (alt-up and alt-down), and once you start using it, it is very convenient to reorder things.

  3. I LOVE evernote... can't live without it... but as I start to use it for more than just scans and clippings.... I have the WORST time with formatting in Evernote... it's absurd... it's the type of stuff I expect in cheapo, immature app... but evernote in pretty much all other ways seems extremely mature... so I don't understand why such simple things dont work well... Example Right now I am making a checklist note... (It's a labor hospital bag checklist)... been working on it for a few months... adding things as we think of it... I have a couple sections... each with a new list of checkboxes... randomly... my note... or parts of it get all messed up... like there will be new lines between checkbox and text, so it goes line with checkbox and no text line with text line with checkbox and no text line with text etc I put the cursor AFTER the check box and hit DELETE (NOT BACKSPACE) and it deletes the check box... OK... that SHOULD work... but it doesn't... whatever... not a huge deal... i'll just try another way... so instead I try putting the cursor at the start of a text line and hit BACKSPACE... it deletes the line break AND the check box... groan... Forget it... I'll just delete all the check boxes and start over... so I delete all the check boxes... I just have a list of items one per line... highlight them all and click the check box button... and I'm back where I started... line with checkbox and no text line with text line with checkbox and no text line with text etc At this point I'm getting pretty annoyed... If this was an isolated incident I would not care... but stuff like this seems to be the norm... I have had SO MUCH TROUBLE with this note over the past few months... I don't know if it has anything to do with editing on my android phone app sometimes or not... but even so, the various apps should be compatible!! Other problems include pasting stuff from other sources and the text being ridiculously large, or other various problems with line breaks from pasted text. Am I the only one? At first I just let it go and figure it's bugs that will get worked out... but I have been using the app for years now and it still sucks at this... and this one note, which I have been working on adding things here and there for months has pushed me over the edge... so curious if others have problems, and if so any way to fix this? And/or are the bug fixes in the works for this stuff?

  4. I would love to see the Windows Client have functionality to work with the Surface Book/ Surface and the Pen. The "Windows App" is really not that great but I use the full Windows client all the time and would love to be able to use the pen like you can with OneNote. I have changed my Surface Book to open Evernote instead of One Note with the click of the eraser already.

  5. I agree, and I up voted this request. (Voting buttons are in the upper left corner of the discussion)

  6. While I would love to have a native Linux desktop client, the sad fact is that Linux as an desktop OS only have ~1.5% market share. As to why MS "love" Linux (which I don't think is true) is because of the server side. And to answer your 3rd question, Evernote already have a native Android client... so they don't have to do anything. Btw, while Android is built on Linux, there is very little in common between Android and Desktop versions of Linux. So in this context you cant really compare them.

  7. This was implemented in the reminder section by adding a Reminder Order field So, it is do-able. I'm seeing it as a question of priorities - is this a feature that the user majority want? I urge you to up-vote one of the feature requests in the feedback forum, or create your own.

  8. Sure it can be used, but you are limited to both the yellow lined paper & the screen estate, as you can't scroll without a mouse. Hopefully touch scrolling everywhere in the client, as well as solid inking features are features planned for the not so distant future..

  9. Totally agree. I have a tag for my son's "Hockey Coach", which is nested under his "Team", under "Hockey People", under "!Who"... In the Windows desktop version, if I select "Hockey People", it filters results for all the tags nested under it, including his team and his coach, and all my other Hockey contacts. If I select his team, it displays results for his coach, along with everyone else tagged under his team. Perfect... thank you Evernote! In the Web and iOS versions, selecting "Hockey People" returns no results because everyone is tagged under a team or organization, and then a name. I have to filter specifically on the lowest level tag to get any results relating to it. Dumb... please Evernote, please!

  10. Only thing being that the web version is blocked/unsupported on iOS! Refers to downloading the app...

  11. @Jason Miller, I'd just like to say thanks for offering this great customer support. It is very good to see you in these forums. I hope this is an example of the level of support Evernote will continue to offer in the future.

  12. Okay I understand having seen the forum now. They have re-implemented "nested" tags in the same way as they are "nested" in the Mac and Windows desktop versions. I was thinking of the ways in which other apps use nested tags where a search on a parent tag brings up that tag and its children. It was a source of heated debate on this forum some years ago.

  13. I don't know, they've recently implemented nested tags in the new web version of Evernote, thus making it available in almost all platforms. Bringing it to mobile "should" be the next logical step. Really? Where? I can't see it. I've been using Web evernote quite a bit recently, so if they've done this I'd be very interested

  15. I agree entirely. You can do a complex tag search on ios by typing "tag:person tag:agenda" or doing an initial tag search and then typing 'tag:agenda' but you have to remember the tags exactly. I suspect we'll never see nested tags. that being said, handwritten notes is greatly appreciated, and for my purposes probably more important.

  16. +1. Please bring nested tags to all platforms once and for all, or at least to iOS *wink* *wink*

  17. yes, and please: as you do with notes containing reminders, please add a small icon/menu to show all tags of the current folder. We have this on the desktop version and I really miss this will n iOS. A small icon, tap to it and then see all tags of the displayed notes. Select a tag then and boom, all notes with that tag are filtered.

  18. I found this problem when I installed Evernote more than 2 year ago. There is no solution what so ever so I uninstall Evernote because I can not believe that an application that is designed for note taking can not provide such a simple function which is available for any note taking programs. I will not use Evernote again until this problem is fixed, period.

  19. Not difficult to reproduce at all. I don't have that many long text notes, so I followed the path of RussP41 and created a 60+ line text note. With wheel set to 1 the screen jumps 4 lines, every time whether in the note area of list or snippet views, or in a stand alone note window.. I use a Logitech M510 mouse with Windows 7. Took me less than 5 minutes to verify the error. That doesn't fix it for sure, and it may be a edge case bug (whatever speak that may be), but I might ask QA if they ever created a note to test the problem. Sorry. couldn't help myself.
