  1. Evernote note won't save edited note sometimes. This happens on an android smartphone. I edit a note. I add text. Then exit from the note. The new text that I just entered is not there. Is there something I should be doing to assure that the new text is entered and that the updated note is saved?

  2. I DID IT! I IMPORTED A SPREADSHEET INTO A TABLE IN EVERNOTE! IT CAN BE DONE! I experimented and experimented and stumbled on something that worked. I had my data in a Mac Numbers spreadsheet. I copied and pasted it in a note but there was no table. So I tried exporting the data to a HTML page. I opened the HTML page in Firefox but copying and pasting a HTML page into a note also didn’t work. Then, quite accidentally, I copied the HTML data into a new spreadsheet in Numbers. Most of the formatting also copied in including justification and background colors. I copied the spreadsheet data to the clipboard again, made a new Evenote note, pasted and Surprise! the data was there in a table including background colors and justifications. I do not own Excel but the same steps might also work with Excel. I do not know why or how the new Numbers spreadsheet was different form the old but it worked with the new one. This morning, I could duplicate the steps with success again. Give it a try.

  3. Please, share them with us. I could use some levity. Typical example. http://www.jokes.net/heavenandhell.htm

  4. You're welcome. You know how I am about security, so the first thing I look at with a company is its privacy policy. If that checks out, I move onto the terms of service. To be honest, there are only a handful of information management / notetaking solutions out there that I'd even consider putting information into, because it is such a rare company that will come out and say that protecting the privacy / security of its customers is a priority. Evernote could be better (I've posted my thoughts before, so I won't rehash them here), but I do think they make a good faith effort to protect our privacy / security. https://evernote.com/legal/privacy.php Longtime users will be familiar with the three "laws" Phil outlined a few years ago. How many companies are willing to spell out their position like this? Not as many as you might think. http://blog.evernote.com/blog/2014/06/03/evernotes-three-laws-data-protection-update/

  5. Wow! Thanks GM for bringing the privacy issues of IntelliNote to our attention. I had no idea... It seems incredibly hard today for normal users to find an online source that is trustworthy. It is truly a buyer's beware environment.

  6. I would recommend caution. Besides the various issues I see with the service itself, which doesn't appeal to me for my use case, their policies concerning your data should raise some eyebrows. Be careful out there. https://www.intellinote.net/privacy/ "Intellinote may also employ other technologies including (i) web beacons, which allow us to know if a certain page was visited or whether an e-mail was opened; (ii) tracking pixels, which allow us to advertise more efficiently by excluding our current users from certain promotional messages or identifying the source of a new installation; (iii) local shared objects also known as flash cookies, which help us to prevent fraud." 7. In case you have Notes from multiple accounts, like I do (some in iCloud, some on Exchange, etc.) you can add this line to pull the account name of the note: set myAccount to the name of the container of the container of thisMessageand then add this line in there to put it into a corresponding Evernote notebook: set myNote to create note with text myTitle title myTitle notebook myAccount tags ["Whatever", "Tags", "you", "want"]

  8. Hi, Sorry to butt in on this, but it sounds like I'm having the same problem. In my case, I edit my note, hit "Done", the app says it's saving but then the note reverts to the pre-edit version, losing my changes. I have to go to one of my desktops and edit it there. Happens on both my Android devices 4.4 on one, 4.2 on the other. Evernote is 6.0.1.1 on both. TIA, eric
