Okay, thanks for the questions, I have a much better clue as to how to share what I do. First, about the only thing I cannot do on the iPad is to download the powerpoints from Angel. So, as far as class prep goes, I do that at home and then sync them to EN. For school work, I use the logitech wifi keyboard with my iPad. During lectures, I open the powerpoints (saved in Evernote) in Foxit PDF which allows me to annotate either by type or by hand (I use a Jot Classic stylus for that). I then email the powerpoints (as a PDF) to EN. I also have a Livescribe pen that I use to take notes if it's just not feasible to take notes on the powerpoints because of the amount of information given. Livescribe documents will sync to EN and yes, as soon as my fin aid is here, I will be purchasing a Sky pen which will automatically sync to EN. For review, I use iStudious which allows me to write notes and then use those notes to create flashcards. I also use iStudious to take textbook notes because of the ease of being able to export the information into the flashcards which can be run in a Leitner method for review. I've not spent the time to learn how to use EN Peek for review but I really rely on the Leitner method which I don't believe is supported in Peek. I keep track of my paper references using PERRLA APA as this is the program I use on my computer when I'm writing my papers. I do lots of note taking for my papers in Pages but write the final paper on my laptop at home and, of course, save it to EN. As far as the ebook was concerned, the license was only available for six months which would have required another license for the 2nd semester which, with the two licenses, would be more than purchasing the book, used, outright. I am one of those anal people who keep all my textbooks until I take a higher level course and unless I can purchase a ebook and "own" it forever like you could an e-novel, I won't do an ebook again. I hope this was helpful. I'm willing to contribute any other information which might be useful. Angela

I have the exact same problem. Open a note from spotlight menu on OS X deletes most of the content of the note. I went back and forth with the support person ina couple emails and then they finally got what I was trying to say and reported it to the development team. It truly is a big bug and needs to get fixed!

Just wanted to say thanks to all of the nice folks who responded to me. This is a wonderful forum and a fantastic program.

This problem appears to have been resolved by the newer version.

Its pretty simple once you get your head around it. You can upload your scans and pictures, sound files and documents up to a maximum of 1GB for each month. Once your 'monthliversary' is up, the clock resets. So yes, you can upload 99.99% of a Gig each month / 12GB each year. It's trivial in time and cost to get an occasional uplift if you need it, but I'm a serial scanner with (nearly) 12,000 notes and I have trouble hitting a full GB each month. Remember: it's a limit, not a target - don't feel obliged to copy photos of your dog in here just to take up the slack, because there's another several million users doing pretty much the same thing. Want your syncs to continue to be quick and easy? Keep the uploads small. Do keep an eye on your progress, because if you get to your limit, uploads stop and (I think it's fair to say) Evernote can get somewhat tempramental. I get cranky too because you start to wonder whether that last scan you tried to squeeze in actually did make it into the database... There's another reason for keeping your notes small too - if you plan to view them on a mobile client of any sort, the smaller the note, the quicker you can see it!

The problem with that, Metrodon, is that it is only your opinion. I'd suggest that there are actually quite lot of people who would find intra-note sorting VERY useful, including all those GTD types (which I'm not), and all those who use EN to store various lists (which I do) from shopping lists to lists of owned DVDs etc. Heck, Evernote is a free-form database, so a list is just one type of note content. And sorting those lists would be a fairly basic need, I'd think. But, that is only my opinion, just as yours is only yours. I have to agree though that it IS odd that we can sort notes and notebooks, but not intranotes, particularly lists. Could be lists of anything from shopping to learning lists. The advantage of doing ALL of that in Evernote, of course, is that the data is synced across platforms. I can pull up EN on my iPhone while in the supermarket and grab the shopping list. I can search the list of DVDs if I see one that I'm not sure if we have it or not. Insurance lists of house contents. Lists of camera lenses, jewellery, books, etc etc. LOTS of instances where being able to sort those lists would be very handy. Sorting has been around since the beginning of computing. I remember programming bubble sorts way back in the assembly-language days of 8-bit Z80 programming. I'm sure there are so many sort routines available now, virtually off the shelf, that incorporating one into a note that is plain text and separated by new lines (i.e lists) should be a piece of cake. But I'm not holding my breath - Evernote still haven't got the ability to do reverse sort order for notes yet, on either the title or the date created or date modified. Wonder just WHY they have so much of a problem with sorts?

Hate to break it to you, Boodles, but as noted above, the work around doesn't work. Many of us in Lion (me included) have tried the drag and drop method, to no avail. Am really hoping there's a solution for this. I need the ability to scan to Evernote, and soon.

When creating notes from mass imported scanned documents with my scanner they are individual files per page. Then when I merge them in Evernote It puts the file name as the header. As mentioned above if it can be customized in the Win/Mac clients where we can choose the formating, I can elect to have the horizontal line or nothing would be very helpful, please Evernote.

When I try and print notes that have lists with checkboxes, everything on the note prints except the checkboxes! When I send the note via email, the checkboxes show up just fine. They just don't show up on the page when printed directly from Evernote. How can I fix, or is this just a glitch in Evernote? I am on a Mac, OSX 10.6.8.
