  1. Hi All, This is an issue we've been able to reproduce, and are working to address. In this case, I've split out the recent comments from the old thread as the root cause of the issue at that time has since been fixed. This is a new/different issue that is causing the cursor to jump to the top on the Web Client. I'll follow-up here as soon as I have an update on a fix.

  2. @Scott T. This is happening to me right now. Autosave kicks in and the cursor jumps to the beginning of the note as I'm typing further down in the note. Makes typing in the Web Client unusuable. Please provide an update, this move to the new Evernote has been frustrating and I'm dreading the thought of migrating my notes to another platform. Windows 10 64-bit Firefox 84.0.2

  3. Unfortunately, Evernote seems to think that their system is well-functioning and they are already hard at work on new features like the "homepage." However, two days ago, I attempted to annotate a pdf on my Mac and I couldn't save the annotations--the Save button is grayed out, another 30 minutes wasted. Meanwhile, the iOS apps remain a complete disaster-- and there is no legacy option for these. The only positive differentiators I can find for Evernote right now are the "Mail In" feature and the Web Clipper. The system is slow, the "new" editor is inferior to Apple Notes, Bear,

But we would give enough advance notice, and by that I don't mean just a few weeks. 6. I don't normally post on forums but I'm really not happy with this new version. I've been using evernote for many years now and have it central to all the things I do in life. I've never considered looking for alternatives until this new update. I installed it thinking that the look was a little different but that it was introcuding new features. Good, I thought. But no, this is the new generation of crappy web apps which have no features, no options and no ability to customise. You're a long way off the mark if you think this app is anything other than a major downgrade to the "legacy a

  8. I'm curious, do you both find 10.6.9 to be worse than earlier versions? If so, I hope you will consider reaching out to support (if you're subscribers) to note the problem so that they can fix it. For my part, progress is a little uneven but each new version seems to be a little better than the last.

  9. Since you're a big fan of information perhaps you'd like to share with the rest of the class your evidence that EN is indeed "clawing back to offer working v10 clients." Because a lot of people keep using words like "slow", "buggy", and the like. When someone complains they find 10.6.9 unusable on a Mac that is in fact useful information. It might not be at the level of detail to help developers fix problems or to warn users which particular features to avoid, but it's not the ****ing job of paying customers to help a company debug software that should never have been released in such a state.

  10. TRIGGER WARNING FOR GURUS: This post does not represent blind support for Evernote. Like most normal users on these forums, I don't care for your self righteous, arrogant views but if you feel you need to respond to get your post count up then fill your boots. --- I really cannot believe that Evernote are proud to advise that they are working on new features (mostly which weren't asked for) when so many long time paying customers are just waiting for previous critical features to be reinstated and for some level of acceptable performance and customer support to be reinstated (you kno

  11. Hello! Today we are releasing Evernote for Mac 10.6 (v 10.6.9 build 2254). It comes with the all new Home, which we’ve detailed in our announcement post here. We’ve also released a number of improvements and bug fixes. Please see the highlights below. It is available as a direct download version from our website, and will be available soon via Mac App Store. If you are already running the direct download version, you will see an automatic update sometime soon as we progressively roll out the update and do not need to take any action. 12. I have an old (and increasingly cranky*) Samsung Note 4 - I mentioned somewhere else that I'm not an early adopter! My next upgrade option will be to a Note 21 I believe... Samsung show no sign of bothering to update older models from Android 6 or 7 and in view of the above mentioned crankiness I'll wait until either I upgrade the phone or there's a backwards compatible Evernote version. I suspect the performance of a shoe-horned cross-load might make both the current phone (and me) even more cranky, as well as creating amusement for several Support teams... I'm quite happy to miss

  13. Evernote user since 2009. I have 29k notes. It's January, 2021, and I'm starting to check out Notion. Version 10 of Evernote is such a huge disappointment. Stripping away features that have become a core of my personal system was a horrible move, and I may have lost my trust on the company. 😞

  14. Hi, I can't seem to be able to disable the red squiggly underline under my typing n the desktop app. I already tried disabling Windows' own spell checking, no effect, so it seems to be built into Evernote. I can't find any kind of drop-down menu with settings that would help me to turn this annoying feature off. Is it possible to do so?

The new Evernote surely looks great with only 1 downside - this one! Can you guys please make this simple tweak to make our lives easier, please?! Thank you Evernote Team.

  16. This new version of Evernote, released only days after iOS14 came out (I ran betas of iOS14 before the main release) seems to be a disaster. Once again, they seem to be unable to get it right before a major release (this has been the case for years - I've been a Premium subscriber almost from the beginning of Evernote). Either their beta testers just don't pick up these bugs, or the coders don't fix them. And once again, they change stuff for the sake of changing it - like the Clipper, which now doesn't seem to work at all. See separate thread on Saving to Evernote from iOS. Mine simp

  17. I've invested years in Evernote and intend to keep it so long as it is working and it allows me to use the legacy version that I currently enjoy. In the meanwhile, I am doing frequent downloads of the enex files and have even verified that these work well in the Joplin app. This gives me a Plan B if everything goes south. Overall, I have faith in Evernote even though I'm still a little perplexed at how they could have thought that their new version would replace the legacy one. I've read all of their statements and I understand their thinking and the logic behind it. I also understand tha

  18. Exactly. Almost everyone gets that unifying the codebase was a pill that had to be swallowed. And Evernote power users are a very patient bunch. Waiting until they had v10 closer to feature parity with v6 and had most of the bugs ironed out, even if it took another 6 months would have been fine. Instead, by foisting this beta onto an unsuspecting public in the form of a general release and breaking many workflows, they have destroyed perhaps the most important aspect in the relationship between note app user and note app developer - trust. And for what? Any attempt to protect their compet

  20. Given the level of response, I am likely wasting my time. Add me to the list of Power Users who wants to see a MANUAL SYNC Button. That this basic functionality would be removed as an "improvement" is a discussion for another day, but for the love of gawd, just put the damned thing back, since *everyone* appears to want it! Geez.

We fixed an issue where the app would crash if you entered special characters (like *, <, and >) in the search bar while you were offline. Fixed an issue where stacks containing certain characters wouldn’t display in the left sidebar We fixed a problem where PDFs you had captured with ScanSnap would sometimes disappear. 23. Hi All, With the release of Evernote 10.6 for Mac and Windows and Evernote 10.4 for iOS and Android, we’ve reintroduced the ability to email a copy of a note for customers with a paid subscription. We have limited this feature to paid subscriptions in order to help limit the spread of spam. The valid payment method for customers on paid plans verifies the sharer’s identity. For customers who prefer to share notes in this way, it’s a layer of security we offer in addition to 2-step verification (which we strongly encourage all users to enable). Basic customers can still share their

  24. Frankly, after complaining for years about the complete disaster that the old Evernote became and the developers tone-deaf and dismissive responses to those complaints, I welcome a new, simpler version. And yes, I'm missing many features I used to use, and so I thought about migrating to a new app, but here's the thing: I haven't found an app with all the features I'm missing, so whether I move to a new app or stick with the new Evernote, I'm losing features and making changes to my workflow. Since that's the case, I'm sticking with the new Evernote. Updates are being pushed regularly anyway a

  26. Feature Request: Add Outlining Capabilities to Evernote Evernote is great, but it's dying for the ability to create Notes that contain Outlines which are easily collapsed and expanded during creation and in use. One way to implement it would be a switchable editing mode, between standard formatting or outline mode. In outline mode, pressing the Enter key creates a new outline item, and pressing the Tab key changes the current item into a sub-item. Clicking on an item's action icon causes its sub-items to collapse out of, or expand into view. That's the way the Ecco Pro PIM did it, and somethi

  27. noticed right now that Evernote Windows client, when merging notes containing old, v6 created print screens and/or pictures, the merge operation deletes some of them screenshots/pictures right now, tried that with newly created printscreens (ctrl+alt+s) and copy/pasting some windows screenshots in some notes, and it works as intended. But when I tried to merge notes with old printscreens (created in v6) got something as attached on picture (highlighted in greenwhat should be the screenshots?)

  28. @PinkElephant it is actually En's fault that they have decided to do this, they say they want evernote the same on all devices but they decide to leave out the under 10s. @gazumped and @grumpyg4 you can get v10 on under 10s if you go to apk mirror, however you have to install their own installer first but then you can download it from their site. it's worth a try.

In essence the note list created by the search becomes my TOC. As we always say, horses for courses, whatever meets your eye the best.

  32. So don't really have a solution here, but support suggested that this issue is probably due to company laptops and the IT policies applied to them. This was somewhat confirmed when I upgraded my personal mac laptop to latest version of Evernote (10.6.9) and it working just fine, but my work laptop was not working. Unfortunately Evernote isn't supported at my company, so they weren't interested in helping me troubleshoot. If this issue is ONLY affecting you on your company laptop, may want to engage IT to see if the need to update security policies. Will just have to use a legacy app

  33. Look. All I want is merely a toggle to lock the note. It doesn't take a few thousands of $$ to develop. I've been a professional software developer for about...38 years. I'm not talking about an over-engineered history paradigm. Most of my notes are static legal text that should by altered; hence no history of changes. Just lock the damn doc. I'm a PREMIUM subscriber.

  35. You are right but... I like to rename the PDFs' and look for the most efficient way to do it. I also use notebooks and need to distribute the notes to various notebooks. It is super easy in Scansnap Home to rename them and drop them in their respective notebooks-except no more. Scanning directly to Evernote Legacy ScanSnap Manager, cloud dump. if you will, results in that weird glitch in which the renamed PDF reverts back to its former name if the sync isn't "Just so"... Thanks so much for the reply. I guess patience is king in these trying days.

  36. +1 Trying to expand this out for the Evernote developers: While editing a note, I pressed a special key [[ "bracket bracket" or @ followed by a Note title Application offers me to relevant Notes' titles. If Note title exist, I will end up with an internal link to the note If Note does not exist, I will end up having a new note in the default Notebook. This feature exists on modern note taking app like Obsidian and Notion. Please add this to Evernote.

  37. I thought @catsknit's question about v6's life is relevant, and has been left unaddressed by Evernote, so it's only natural that people will want to discuss it. To paraphrase your words, If it bothers you that much, ignore it. I expect v6 will be around longer than v6 will be relevant, so I'm not personally concerned about whether EN could pull the plug on it or not, though I do find the discussion about that issue interesting. The v10 debacle spurred me to look around at some other note apps for the first time in several years (back then it was only EN and ON in terms of cross platform n

  38. I have just installed and signed up to Evernote. My first impressions are positive, but I am really infuriated by the lack of consideration shown to technical/specialist people like myself (scientist), and others who regularly use words not found in any general dictionary. I have spent far too much time searching for ways to deal with those stupid red squiggles !

  40. Ah, this discussion has brought back such nostalgic memories for me! Here is what I wrote to Evernote in 2012: With a follow-up in 2013: So, while, in 2021, I prefer to use the Legacy version 7 for Mac rather than the latest version 10, what I really really want is a Legacy version 4, which, IMHO, was before all the bad design decisions started being made.

Only one per-user installation is supported." Revo was totally useless since it was "hidden" installation of EN. That is, it was uninstalled but still was present in the system for some reasons. You can't see it in the Program Uninstall Control Panel applet, you can't upgrade, you can't uninstall. What was really useful is MS The Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter. 42. Just wanted to update that while it was a painful period for us, Evernote's engineering team did fix the sync/webhook issue created with the new apps. My company and clients are grateful it's over notwithstanding it would have better if it never occurred. I continue to believe in 18 months, biting the bullet will be judged the best decision for Evernote. I wished they had done a much much better job of communicating and not feeling they need to be so secretive about roadmap. If they told us more about roadmap I don't think it would impact their competitive situation one bit.

  44. I wish Evernote would follow a very simple common sense rule. No new features until old ones are working as people expect. And bugs and performance issues are no longer an issue. Also when new version of Evernote is released, there need to be trust in the stability, not playing Russian roulette with updates. Will I lose my data? Will it crush two or three times per hour etc. I'm been using Evernote for years and for years it has gotten from bad to worse, with not much ability to learn from previous mistakes being shown by Evernote. Right now still version 10 is not ready for general release it

  48. Sadly this shows the notorious ignorance of CEO and the EN staff. Leaving us with this premature spell checker and kicking off almost every non english typing user for months. Ignoring necessary foundation work. But in meantime wasting time playing around with shiny dashboards... Early at school kids learn that homework comes first, then playing. Obviously no one at EN can remember this simple rule. Hard to see, they leave us with this until 2021...

Bugs get me crazy and it doesn’t open most of my files, from epubs to large pdfs. THERE ARE TOO MANY BUGS TO FIX. MANAGEMENT JUST DIDN’T REALIZE IT. IT WILL TAKE MONTHS TO STABILIZE AND MY WORK DEPENDS ON RELIABILITY. PLEASE REPOST PREVIOUS VERSION.
