V10 has sooooooo many problems: EVERYONE NEEDS TO SPEAK UP
Feitz replied to enfan-01's topic in Evernote General Discussions
Can't drag'n'drop attachments into a note. The dropped attachment simply disappears, although before the drop either the line indicating where the drop would take place or (in an empty note) the '+' sign appears, thus Evernote is aware of the intended drop. Hate to say but that worked in Legacy without issue. Adding via cut/copy and paste seems to work. Latest Sonoma/ 10.84.3 mac Ticket #3873669 -

EN 10.84.3 Windows, empty lines missing in pdf
justinobriecht replied to janndk's topic in Evernote General Discussions
It is doing the same for me. However, if I don't change any formatting and just compose the note with default settings it does appear to keep the blank lines. -

How to change double spacing to single spacing
ENnut replied to SpacecoastWalt's topic in Evernote General Discussions
In Typography, the spacing between lines of text is called leading. I too recently noticed an increase in the leading, and I don't like it. I want it back the way it was, or better yet, let me set the leading how I want it. Here's what I'm seeing now, too much leading: -

I work with the Notes panel (which shows the title and a short preview of each note) open at all times. Recently (not sure exactly when it started happening), whenever I click on one of the Shortcuts pinned to the left-most panel, the Notes panel collapses or disappears and I must re-select "Notes" (below the "recent notes" section) to bring it back. The correct behavior when selecting a note for which there is a pinned shortcut would be for the Notes panel to remain open and to move the "highlighted" or "active" note preview to the note that I followed a shortcut to.

Well, V10 was released in October 2020, so it's not all that new and fresh anymore... -

I am soo pissed! every scan I do comes up untitled attachment. I emailed and was told to be patient. After taking papers out of my trash to try again same issue. So then I took pics with my phone - they show up when I access through my phone but not on my desktop (again untitled attachment). Any suggestions for an alternative to Evernote? sadly I have used this for years but I sure need something that is dependable and is not so time-consuming (picking through my garbage can was so fun).

Yes, it needs to wipe the local data. You can check whether there are duplicates. Look up the database path in the Finder - XXX is your user name (it likely is a hidden folder, you need to unhide it if it is not already done): /Users/XXX/Library/Application Support/Evernote If you see more than one user in this location (arrow), you have either several accounts registered, or several database duplicates.

Solution found. Interim solution: I downgraded to 10.83.5 to remove the increased line spacing issue. Then, every time I rebooted my PC and restarted Evernote and it installed the latest version, I then force-reinstalled 10.83.5. And after installing 10.83.5, I then have the understandable box on the Evernote screen which says there is an update for me. For this joy, I am paying Evernote a decent sum every year. Final solution: I've now installed UpNote. I exported all my Evernote data and imported them into UpNote. UpNote doesn't have all the Evernote clutter that I was not using but which Evernote kept throwing at me. UpNote is cleaner for me. Maybe it's not for everybody but it suits me fine. What I find amazing is the increased line spacing which automatically imposed itself on my screen, and which could not be altered, and for which there were comments in another thread that I fed into that Evernote is not as bloated as MS Word - the minimalist UpNote package has a simple slide bar which lets the line spacing be changed on the hoof. I've been an Evernote user/subscriber since 2011. The last thing I wanted to do was leave them. But when something that I pay for changes without asking permission or providing a way to un-change/modify, it's annoying. And then when Evernote starts adding URLs at the top of my notes which are entirely without value, it's time to actually leave. There may be a way to disable these URLs, but when there isn't one to reverse the line spacing, maybe there's not. Doubtless there are clauses in the T&Cs which state that Evernote can do these modifications and so they may be legally within their rights. However, it doesn't pass the smell test. Finally, there is no way to directly communicate with Evernote and have a 2-way conversation. Feedback can be left for which you get a standard auto reply. This forum may be viewed by Evernote personnel, but that is a one-way view - nobody from Evernote is communicating back to me in these forum dialogues. Maybe some of the responders are actually Evernote staff, but that is only an assumed guess. Maybe Evernote is now so large that it cannot handle the volume of communications that it would receive, in which case Evernote has become too large to care for its previously loyal customers. So therefore it's time to vote with my feet. I have only one more thing to do. Cancel my Evernote subscription auto renewal.

How to change double spacing to single spacing

Yes, the current team is a permanent source of surprises. Many are pleasant, some surprising - but there is a bunch that I find annoying. The unexplained GUI changes are among these. -

First time I've ever commented in Evernote forum that I remember, although I'm a user since 2008 with almost 11k notes. The sudden change from single spacing to what looks like 1.5 spacing without the ability to change it or opt out seems like a step backwards. So many things I love about Evernote. The inability to choose between single spacing and 1.5 spacing is not one of them. -

Hi. This new behaviour has already been noted - best advice is to contact Evernote Support and wait for a response. We're mainly other users here so no workarounds / fixes available that I'm aware of - except to use a dedicated code editor and attach the output file to your note for the time being. We're told that highlighting and other features are coming to Evernote but it's unknown how you should approach your now-altered content, and whether or how it can be returned to its original state. If/ when you do receive some feedback from Evernote please post it here...
