  2. Just a few hints that might be helpful, adding to the great responses you've already had The advantage of using underscores rather than spaces in tag names, is that you don't need the quotation marks. alt+F2 (Windows but there will be a mac equivalent) takes you straight to the filter menu with the tags section already open. Beware though that there is a bug, that comes and goes with different versions, which clears the search field when you do this. Don't forget that with the search syntax you can choose to have any or all of the tags. Also now Boolean search is available for everybody it's much simpler to build up complex searches (although it doesn't really add much capability to the existing any: term). For example tag:tag1 AND (tag:tag2 OR tag:tag3)
  3. I too very much miss this functionality. Why do I need to open the filter menu to find a tag when I can see the tag I want to add to the filter in the sidebar? alt+F2 (Windows) is handy as it opens the filter menu directly in the tags section. I actually have an autohotkey script (Windows only) that allows me to hover over a tag in the sidebar and add it to the search using the tag:tagName advanced search syntax. I also have shortcuts that add specific, much used tags (like $pinned), in the same format. These are at the top of my tag structure (hence the $) and used to be so easty to add to a search in legacy.
  4. Repro (10.80.3): 1. connect Android phone/tablet to PC 2. try to drag-and-drop any file to EN note 3. receive "Something went wrong when adding your attachment. Please try again" message. (and no, it never works) P.S. Does EN have bug tracker or something like that? v10 is broken in so many aspects, I can fill pages of bug reports...

  6. And you could make saved searches for quicker producing results of combinations of tags. I do that, but large quantities is not handy. I hope they make sorting by tags possible very soon and I hope some day they enable storing/editing saved searches/filters or tags directly in a note... This enables using a note as a storage place for different filter combinations, making producing views of notes very fast and in the right place.
  7. I have an intel mac which has the same LAG problem, while another M1 mac works fine. My temp solution is stick to version 10.66.5 for intel mac. This version is the highest version I tested without the LAG problem.
  8. i've tried Notion, same en10 problems - fat and slow. now i'm trying the Obsidian, it looks much much better, than Notion and EN10
  9. I see that v10 will never be faster. Looks like it has a very bad architecture.
  10. because v10 is fat and extremely slow on windows and android. it is impossible to control if note updated or not. there is NO command line for v10 at all ! on android i had numerous v10 sync errors, which was invisible and I got a lot of unsynced and duplicated notes v10 has lack of legacy features. so goodbye evernote premium! i'm migrating to some other note taking software!
  11. I also hate v10 very much and hey raised a price 1.7x more. So I discontinued my premium. Evernote management with such sh%#y v10 and increased price can go and love themselves.
  12. Thanks to you both. I was trying to use the search drop down below the search field and it wasn't finding the tags. The add filters works. Also for syntax based something like tag:"tag_name" seems to work in the search field.
  13. Last week they seemed to have updated the top chrome of the window border on Windows and then rolled it back suddenly. Thing are really in flux right now, I think now that they made those backend migrations from the monolithic architecture last year this year they are focused on client side improvements. Plenty of Electron apps are super fast, Discord and VSCode come to mind. Hopefully Evernote will get there.
  14. You can't sort by tags. From the left panel you can select one tag. It will work as filter then. For combinations of tags, or tags and other criteria use the filter menu.
  15. @PinkElephant Thank you for your detailed and considerate response. While I can utilize the filter feature, I'm particularly interested in whether there's a way to apply filters using the Tags button specifically located on the left panel. My research suggests that this functionality might have been removed. However, I remain interested in discovering if there's an established method to sort notebook by tags. In your version of Evernote, do you have the ability to organize your notebooks by tags?
  16. That likely wouldn't do it. I was wondering more or less if you were using a PiHole or other adblocking tool. Sometimes when the blocklists for those update certain things can break. The only other thing I can suggest is to make a test account on a throwaway email and see if it works. This way you can say to support I made a free account and didn't have this error. That way they get you escalated to someone higher up quicker because you've already proven to them that your issue isn't user error or an issue with your computer. They are going to first try and rule out user error or a problem on your end. If a free account works you've proved it's an Evernote problem and not a you problem and therefore can cut through the level 1 support time waste.
  17. I see no point in disabling Windows Security and Malwarebytes, the only security I run. And those have been running forever with no problem.
  18. You could easily improve the selection by tagging. Make a tag for every year, for every month and for every day. You can cover a decade with roughly 50 tags, each note receives 3 of them. You can simply filter for example for all 19th of March by simply leaving the year tag away. Use a template that already has the month and year tags applied, you just need to add the correct day tag. Change the template at the beginning of the next month.
  19. Use the filters menu to select multiple criteria for searches. First enter the search string, and hit Enter to make the search run. Then from above the search list select the filters button, and start selecting the criteria. Every selection will show as a blue button over the search list. You can remove any of the filters by clicking the X on that blue button. (1) is the filters button, (2) is a tag filter, (3) is a notebook filter and (4) are 2 more filters from the "Contains" selection. Filters (4) are proposals, currently inactive (they show grey and not blue) that the system believes could improve the search. You can activate them by simply clicking them. The list of search results will follow the selected filters dynamically: Add a filter, and the list is reduced, remove a filter, and it will expand.
  20. A setting to choose a default font would certainly be nice. When it comes to matching fonts, that just isn't possible. Fonts have to be licensed and vary across platforms. PDF was designed to solve this problem.
  21. I guarantee you 100% and would bet the mortgage on it: if Evernote offered more fonts, made it possible to change the default, and tripled the number of font and highlight colors, masses of people would post here complaining that they are wasting their time on trivia that nobody needs instead of fixing dire issues. I would not agree with that viewpoint; but I also don't agree that the limited colors and even the lack of a selectable default font (which I wouldn't mind having) is a deal-breaker.
  22. @mpatten28 - can't tell you how thankful I am for you. I've been trying to figure out a solution to this issue for several days, and this is the best solution. I have years worth of journal entries that I want to review each day, and I've been creating these master table of contents to put them in specific days. This has become far too time consuming, and I've been trying to find a way to view all notes created on a specific day each year so I can review memories/audio clippings/articles/etc. without the time drain of the table of contents approach. This search feature, albeit imperfect due to Evernote's current constraints, is the closest I can find to exactly what I need. Thanks so much!
  23. Agreed, it really increases Evernote's attack surface and puts our data at risk. Especially given that the team that developed it it looooong gone and no one currently working at Bending Spoons can be too familiar with the source code to even know what vulnerabilities may exist. Legacy should have been killed in 2022 at the latest. No other company would have kept it around this long.
